We used these books as a party gift for an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday. All the kids loved the book! The Golden Books are always a favorite. The parents loved having something other than toys and junk for their kids to take home! This is such a great story and a book for my kids to keep forever.

While I understand that a Golden Book cannot hold the whole story when it comes to most movie based books... I was really surprised at how this one skims right through a lot of important parts! But ultimately it didn't matter because my daughter loved it anyway!

I bought this for my niece to go with the DVD I had also purchased for her as a gift. I thought the pages were very nicely illustrated and the text was classic. It is a Golden book and lives up to the reputation. With so many spins on some of the classic stories we grew up on it's nice to see them still in print.

Little Golden Books have been around for a long time.Sad to say that the quality of these books has gone downhill, but the prices have gone up! After purchasing from the store, I found the same book at Walmart for $2.57 less and for much less on Sesame Street books as well.I'd advise shopping around if price is a concern. I wish that I had!

I've never seen a book like this, perhaps all Little Golden Books are meant to be like this? It almost seems handmade in a rather basic way. The printing is good, but the way the book opens, you basically have to 'break' the spine. Odd. But I'm sure my 3 year old will enjoy it, draw on it and trash it in the end anyway, so I'm not too concerned. I might decide to buy a better copy of this classic tale in due course though.. this was really just for inspiration for a mad hatter's tea party.

The story is a well-written summary of the original Disney. However, the book itself is cheaply made. I was disappointed since my own children's books, saved for the past 25 to 30 years are still in "richer" condition that the new ones.

We gave these books as party favors at my daughter's first birthday (One-derland) party. They were a huge hit and about the same as buying a lot of little things for a goodie bag. The pictures are nice and colorful, but this is a verrrry abbreviated version of the story.

This was a gift from a baby registry for my daughter. She had a baby girl and of course knew this ahead of time. My granddaughter is named Alice after Alice in Wonderland of course. She is a doll. :) The perfect gift for our little princess. Thank you.

Nice illustrations and a timeless story that I just read to my 4 year old grandson. Fortunately he wasn't afraid when the queen sent the cards after Alice to "Off with her head." I was always scared at that part when I was his age.

While I prefer the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (A/K/A Lewis Carroll), I still enjoy the Disney retellings based on the animated movie version. A nice children's book.

We have several different Alice in Wonderland books and while they all tell essentially the same story, this one is nice in that it's fairly short and can be a quick read before bedtime. My daughter really enjoys it and requests it quite frequently.

I purchased these for my daughter's Alice in Wonderland party favors. The book is abbreviated of course and you miss some of the whimsical speech from the original book and movie. But it's perfect for 2-3 year olds. I gave it 4stars because it would have been nice to have seen SOME of the original verbiage.

I ordered this book for a friend's baby shower as the invitation requested that guests bring their favorite book from their childhood as a gift for the baby. My own "Alice in Wonderland" Little Golden book was my favorite book since I was a first grader so I quickly did a search on the store to find it. When I received it I was not that impressed. The cover is not as thick as the older version was and the quality of the book was poor. The color of the illustrations and text in the book is rather dull and worst of all the pages are too big for the cover and they stick out of the side of the book. I'm debating whether I should give this book as a gift because to me it looks cheap. If the quality of the book were what I was used to with Little Golden Books I would say this is a great book because the story and pictures are wonderful, but I am not happy with the quality.

I ordered a bunch of these for party favors for my daughter's first birthday party. The theme is "one-derland." These books are perfect because they are not only a classic, but they are much better favors than candy or plastic little toys that will be lost. All but one of my 20 books came in perfect condition. One book was torn a bit on the seam. I will live though.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase!

Bright illustrations. Great find for only 3.69. It is very colorful and bright. I am a big lover of all versions of Alice in Wonderland (the original from many many years ago, Tim Burton's 2010 version, and Alice Through the Looking Glass) so of course i scooped this up at the local bookstore.

I only gave it 4 stars because i would only choose this book for entertainment/enjoyment purposes and not for building vocabulary or increasing the reading ability of the child.

I purchased this as a gift for my first grandchild. I have to admit it was a nostalgia purchase for me as I have fond memories of Little Golden Books as a child. They're reasonably priced and a beloved childhood favorite. This purchase was no exception.

I gave these books as favors after my daughter's small Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party. The story is wonderful and reminds me of my childhood collection of Little Golden Books. The only thing I don't like is that the hard cover gives paper cuts easily. My daughter and I both got cut, pretty badly as paper cuts go, while flipping through the books. I had to dull the cardboard edges of each book so that it wouldn't cut anyone else.

Disney - oddly enough - didn't write Alice in Wonderland, or Bambi, or Peter Pan, but you'd never know it from books like these, where Disney's name takes precedence over Lewis Carroll, Felix Salton, and JW Barrie, the creative geniuses whose work Disney has claimed for his own in this subtle way. In the case of Alice, it's maddening, because Disney admitted to not liking Alice at all. But I loved Alice as a child, and still do. She is the questioner of adults and the adult world, puncturer of pomposity and arrogance. She is the cat, whom hypocrites despise because they just don't like being looked at that way. The Disney film version reduces poor Alice to a kind of blonde Olive Oyl, whimpering Help! Help! rather than the philosophical child who sees through grown-up bluster: "When I use a word it means exactly what I want it to mean," says Humpty Dumpty.

The only one of the three authors I mentioned here who might approve of what Disney has done to his song, would be Felix Salton, because Bambi is an anti-hunting book, and Disney has made it more accessible to more generations through the immensely successful feature length cartoon. Pro-hunting groups call those who disapprove of hunting 'Bambists,' and I am certain they have in mind the Disney version, which emphasizes the cuteness of the deer. So while Salton's marvelous language is largely missing in the cartoon, his message comes across very well, and he might approve of that.
