A Small Town Kidnapping Mystery - The Abducted Super Boxset

This was an excellent read. I only like criminal mysteries but almost all genres of them--suspense, murder, who done it and abduction. This book (book one in a series) covered all of my favorites in one book. I am looking forward to beginning book two. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good plot with an ending which is just the beginning-want to know why? Read it for yourself and find out! The second book was basically about three players. Miriam, her daughter, Ana and the crazy and delusional Philip Anderson. He tracked down Miriam where she had moved to and abducted the Congressman's daughter and held her for ransom but he also wanted Miriam. After he finally got her all hell breaks out. He holds her in the basement of a house he bought. In the end Philip is the biggest looser- or is he?

I just finished the final book in the series Abducted Super Box Set. By that time you complete this series by Roger Hayden you know all the players especially Miriam! She is a strong, compassionate and loving woman. You also know all the characters in the book. The Abducted Super Box Set was one of the best series I have read in quite some time. Each book was based on the major character, Miriam. In the first book you get a feel of her passion for her work. In the next book or two you can feel her compassion on why she does what she does and begin to understand her more. When you finally get to Roger Hayden's last book in this set he has developed Miriam's entire profile and she jumps right off the pages at you and you have grown to know her, her fellow detectives, her daughter and future husband and the little girls she saves-no matter what she has to do to bring them home to their parents. If you don't start at book one and follow the entire box set in order I do not think you will get the who, what, where and why. However, each book does have an ending and leaves you hanging ......wondering....what's next?
