Purpose and Power of Love and Marriage

Myles Monroe captured the very essence of what marriage and family has the potential to become. I especially appreciate his candor in discussing topics like family planning, sex vs. love, and gender biases which typically are viewed as taboo topics in our Christian society. His simple, yet practical advice encouraged, challenged and delved into some untapped/hidden areas of my life. I now have a stronger desire to put into practice some notable suggestions for a more successful marriage and family life.This book is filled with a wealth of advice, counseling and assurance of God's love and plan for us. It is a must read and I offer high recommendations for The Purpose and Power of Love & Marriage.

I purchased this book because of the title and the research I wanted to do before I get married. What took be off guard is the principals of the book are based on religion. Had I known that, I would like have obtained this book.

An absolutely amazing work from Dr Myles on love & marriage.

There are many things I liked about this book, here are just a few
1. The 12 foundations of a happy and successful marriage such as: Love, trust, commitment, respect, and others along with one that I didn't expect him to mention which is financial stability

2. 8 important characteristics of a marriage partner such as: the ability to work through problems, empathy, ability to communicate, similar family backgrounds etc

3. He defined what love is, what love is NOT and how love looks applied in practical situations throughout life (great info!)

4. He covered communication: what it is and how to communicate effectively with your spouse

5. He covered how men and women are wired differently therefore we have the tendency to interpret the world, situations, and words etc differently.

I could go on and on about this wonderful work. I am truly impressed and grateful for this book it will be a treasured resource in my life.

This book was definitely an inspirational book of instructions with regards to what it means to be and stay married. Dr. Munroe really breaks down every page and chapter to easy principles for any reader to digest. While all along, he consistently reinforces them with biblical teachings. He does an exceptional job with etymology throughout the book using typical martial expressions and phrases. It is an outstanding read and spiritual survival guide to marriage!

I would recommend this book to anyone before and during the journey of marriage. The principles covered in this book provides wonderful insights, revelation, interpretation, and application. This book definitely helped my marriage and enhance understanding in various areas in my marriage that I lacked knowledge. Dr. Myles Munroe gives a lot of good information when practice with a sincere heart, will give married couples wisdom beyond their years. If you are young, between the age of 20-30. This is a book that you will need to read first before engaging into a long commitment, because it will give you questions to ask in order avoid confusion or lack of communication.

I deeply enjoyed this book...its revelations are revolutionary in building and keeping a successful marriage! I recommend all couples read this book before marriage and use it as a tool of resource to guide you through the years! I gave it a 5 star rating because my entire perception on my relationship with my wife has been changed!!! Thank You God for Dr. Myles Munroe and thank you Myles for simply sharing your God given, enlightened, perspectives!

Myles Munroe has written an excellent book that provides a roadmap for anyone in a serious relationship or even single and hoping to someday have a spouse. Munroe tells readers up front that marriage should not be taken lightly and that divorce should never be an option - according to God's plan. To help readers from ever having to confront such a painful choice, he provides an extensive list of not just reasons to get married, but also an extensive list of reasons NOT to. Many pastors and counselors would serve their members and clients well to suggest the book or incorporate it into pre-marital counseling.

This book helped tremendously in teaching us how God intended a marriage to work. We were already married when my husband and I read this book and it helped to transform our marriage. If you read this book and look to God to help you to learn how to have an amazing marriage... it will happen!

I would suggest this book for singles and people who already are married. This book will help you understand your spouse and how God designed marriage. It clears everything up in marriage and shows men and women how to talk to each other. And why submission to your husband is not a bad thingin a marriage. Everything in this book is biblical based. I would even suggest teens read it too. All I have to say is Dr. Myles Munroe was God inspired when he wrote this book.

With both the rates of divorce and the spiritual attack on the convenant of marriage on the rise, we need to understand the importance of God's principles to our marriages. After all, He created it, ordained it and knows how to make it work. This book is awesome! It is a must read for anyone seeking to one day get married, who are engaged to get married and those who have been married for years. God Bless you Dr. Myles Munroe for being obedient.
