The writing flows beautifully. Chapter 3 was memorable. The structure--defining what constitutes a miracle and then the second half of the book marshaling evidences of miracle--is appealing and helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed MIracles - Material in the front re. religion and science was very informative and I believe useful. Stories were encouraging. I didn't think the style of writing was necessarily Metaxas' best, but I definitely will use this book as a personal resource.

This is a good book about personal miraculous events in people's lives. Miracles still do happen in this day and age even if it is on a small, personel level in one's own life. Keep believing in God for a miracle of your own if you need one and walk in God's way.

An outstanding and convincing description of many miracles, both those directly demonstrated by Jesus and those which came indirectly over many subsequent years. Metaxas has put together a well-organized compendium supporting the existence of Christ-Based miracles! What an outstanding author!

The first part of the book, which summarizes recent scientific evidence of our privileged position as living beings created by an intelligent Being, was wonderful, and a great jumping off point for further reading. The rest of the book was a series of largely unsubstantiated personal accounts of spiritual awakenings and interventions. It was less valuable to me, and I have read better-validated accounts elsewhere. It was, however, well-written and entertaining from start to finish. Glad I read it.

The science is enlightening and the second-party personal stories entriguing. I believe in miracles and this book has confirmed for me that they in fact do occur today and not just in ancient "Biblical time".

As a scientist I really enjoyed the chapters dealing with the improbability of our being here, other than by design. The stories of miracles were interesting tho a bit repetitive in content at times. However, they re-enforced how God can communicate with us. Overall I recommend this book.

Inspirational, uncontrived, deeply fascinating, Eric presents thought-provoking, deeply moving accounts of the greatest possible mysterious situations which cause one to ponder the realities beyond our limited awareness. One is deeply broadened by his story-telling gift

This is certainly one of Eric Metaxas's best works to date. At once intimate and bold, vulnerable in ways that surprised me, and brave, this book won me over within the first chapter. Less hype and more logic than has been seen in some other treatments of this profound subject, Metaxas takes the reader on what in many ways feels like a good walk with a friend through the background issues needed to approach the phenomenon of miracles with wisdom and an open-mind. Never judgmental, always respectful, Metaxas introduces the ideas and the experiences with a beautiful blend of calm reason and a warm heart.
For those who love and study C.S. Lewis, like myself, you will find echoes of Lewis deeply present in this book, especially in the opening chapters. Metaxas has sprung from the work Lewis did in his book also titled Miracles (published in 1947) but fresh language and references into his work as well as thought evolved and matured out of Lewis's previous material. Rarely have I seen another writer integrate Lewis so deeply into his own reasoning and "translate" him so well. This will be a book I go back to many times not only for the subject matter but the beautiful writing of it as well. Its been a long time since I read a book that made me proud of the author and proud of how brilliantly and kindly he represents what it is to be a Christian, but Eric Metaxas makes me proud. I admire his courage, his faithfulness, his honour, and his vision.

Eric Metaxas does a masterful job of presenting the wonder of God's miracles in our world that, as Metaxas illustrates, is itself one of His miracles. True scientists, who consistently adhere to the "scientific method," allowing objective data to speak its truths to them, discover the miracles of God in everything that exists.
What a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to any who believe in miracles already; but I especially recommend to to those who don't. Metaxas will open for you a vision of the miracle of your world that you will miss otherwise.

I finished every chapter thinking, "This is incredible." No joke.
This book is for those of faith and no faith. Where there are facts, we have a responsibility to follow them. No matter where you are, the tone Eric Metaxas takes is conversational and never argumentative. Metaxas invites you to consider "what if..?" instead of demanding "you should." Whether in evidence or testimony, the book is always engaging and never a drag to read. Best new release book I've read this year.
