???
Andrew has a demon to battle, his brother.
Evil to the core , the new Earl chased Andrew away as a very young man and imprisoned his mother ,but Andrew found a cause a meaning, a reason to continue living and improve himself and his means .
One day he would go back and kill his brother ,nothing and no one were going to stop him .
Josephine lost her Father and brother , and now she runs the castle and lands , she dons armour and a sword , the little soldier is as tough as they come and has no problem holding her own .
A neighbouring lord is determined to destroy her, so her only choice is to employ more men , who better than The Red Fury and his band of Mercenaries.
When Andrew arrives he finds it hard to believe that such a beautiful young woman could fight as a man , but her temper and fierce demeanour, at times leave him spinning .
All seems to go well , until the King arrives , he betrothes Joey to Andrews brother, and things start to go down hill from there.
This is a fierce and exciting read, action from the first page and it’s brilliant.
It’s a love story for the ages , and reminds me in so many ways of The Wolfe , it’s a good long read , and gives to time to really bed down into their epic lives .
Some of the secondary characters are also wonderful , Ridge , I love him . So enigmatic, and slow burning, he really needs a book .
Thane , didn’t see to much of him but so much potential .
Donald , a sweet man , but with work could really become a main.
Sully of course ,he’s just great , a loving , gentle man , I’d love to see more of both him and Joeys sister Justine .
This book had me in tears and laughter , it was my perfect last book of the year .

This book is long, but held my attention. As with most of Kathryn's books, she has me biting my nails, wanting to cry, scream, and laugh out loud. Absolutely loved the characters. Josephine and Andrew were wonderful and had great adventures, heartaches, and love in this book. I know Sully's story. Now I would like to read Ridge and Donald's stories.

I really like Nicolas and would have enjoyed reading his story as well. I hate that he had to be sacrificed.

I honestly had to stop reading this book after the heroine did one more stupid thing. Great story, but predictable. The sister is stupid , the ND is unnecessarily stupid, just messed up a potentially good book with No man will tell me what to do, even with the enemies knife at my throat? Really? Every time the story would flow, must have a stupid moment. Save your money, you've read this author . This is the same story just on steroids. I will skip to the end to see the outcome, but do better.

I was a little disappointed in Andrew d'Vant (the Red Fury) because somewhere in the story line he lost his fierceness. I was looking for another Wolfe. I loved Josephine. Finally a kick butt leading lady that actually could use and did use her sword. For those of you who like to read medieval books because as a rule there is no harsh language (as I do) brace yourself for the ending. I'm looking forward to reading Ridge's story.

Much has been written about the entire storyline, so I will not repeat. However; I must say this book is back to the power of The Wolf as written. Love, anger, suspense, mayhem, murder, clan fighting. Well developed characters and story without following the outlines and patterns of her most recent books that were beginning to become predictable and boring. Hope to read more like this in the future.

Wow, I am certainly surprised by the number of five star reviews. I had to struggle through this book. It was bland and boring. It just went on and on and on. Could have been much more developed and certainly one of LeVeque's worst books. It had several inconsistencies and it was tedious reading regarding Josephine's anger and temper tantrums. My OCD wouldn't let me stop before I finished it but I certainly wanted to. What king acts like that idiot Alexander? Really? The knights seemed to be just a silly bunch of boys, except for Ridge. Very forgettable. Certainly not The Wolfe.
