I rarely write reviews.

This book kicked me so hard in the bean bag. I immediately felt compelled to run to the store and write about it.

The audiobook is narrated by Maddox himself. I like to take a bluetooth loudspeaker and turn it to 10. I put it on the top of buildings so the sound of the audiobook can cascade down to lowly humans.

If you don't like this book, it's a criticism of the way you choose to live your life. Hopefully you never reproduce. You would dilute the awesome of our species.

Every point made in this book is impossible to refute. Law schools will be studying it for years.

Thank you Maddox. That stupid book was named "The Secret" but this book holds the real secret. Allow this book to guide all your decisions and you will never go wrong.

HAIL MADDOX!!!!!!!!

Over the past few years, the sparse output on Maddox's website has been disappointing. Yes, we have the podcast, and the occasional video, but nothing like the articles of old.

This book makes the years of sparse updates worth it. A great collection of new musings on a variety of subjects, each of which you will find yourself agreeing with. The negative reviews which say it is just regurgitating old stuff clearly haven't read it.

It's the manner in which Maddox takes an absurd statement of attack on a subject, but then quite cleverly dissect the subject of the piece until everything he is saying makes perfect sense that makes this book a great read. I picked up the audio book at the same time to listen to on journeys, but recommend the book version more if only for the picture captions. Heck, grab both versions like I did and listen to Maddox read whilst you browse the physical copy (or kindle...your choice).

After talking about writing this book for years, it has finally arrived. Count me among those that thought Maddox would never actually finish writing it. I can tell you, it was worth the wait. Full disclosure, I'm only halfway through the book, but thus far every chapter has made me laugh out loud at least once. To get an idea of what you're in store for with this book, one needs only to look at the book flap, where Maddox launches into why book flaps are stupid and everyone hates them.

My favorite part thus far is from the chapter on Trees:

"The best product you can give to a fellow tree hater is a box of toothpicks, because it's a tree product wrapped in another tree product... When your friend asks for one, throw them away right in front of him. That way you kill a tree while simultaneously losing a friend. Friends are horrible."

I purchased the audiobook, and it was worth it just to hear the publisher's classical music and voiceover actress say the title of the book.

I followed Maddox regularly from 2003 up until the end of the Biggest Problem in the Universe. There is nothing new or even remotely funny in this book. Two reasons for this.

1. If you are a fan/were a fan of Maddox, you will feel ripped off reading this book. It's a lame attempt to get back older fans who have moved on the the much more intelligent, funny, likeable Dick Masterson. Unfortunately he does this by writing material HE HAS USED BEFORE AND HIS FOLLOWERS ALL KNOW. How is that getting your base back loser?

2. If you are not familiar with Maddox, do you really find a 40 year old bald Armenian austist writing about how much he doesn't like whales and horses funny. I would expect that from a teenager, and 15 years ago. This man is completely oblivious to modern culture, and hasn't put out anything funny in many years.

Don't buy this book. Buy "Men are Better than Women" by Dick Masterson. It's closer to Maddox's old style than Maddox's own writing TRYING to emulate his old style. I've read both and if I could rate them, I would give Dick's book a 10, and Maddox's book a .2% (only because the title is hilarious. Not because it's clever, but because somebody bought out the domain name for what Maddox really wanted to call the book).

Waiting on a book from Madcucks now
