Book 1 - First Drop of Crimson - Night Huntress World

I found this author quite by accident when I stumbled on the HUNTRESS SERIES. In similar style to my beloved Hamilton but less sex. Don't get me wrong its there just not as much. Loved this spinoff but read some of the huntress series first so you know the characters.

This is a wonderful series. If you are into paranormal romance, Jeaniene Frost is the writer for you. She catches you at page 1 and I had a hard time putting it down. You should read them in order.

Denise drove me crazy with her constant second guessing but I still loved the story. Frost continues to provide a great story and
I look forward to reading more about the remaining characters I've come to love.

Another great book by jeanine frost. A action packed love story that is hot and sexy. You will love the characters, you will recognize them if you have read her other books from the night huntress series. Overall its a great book I guarantee you will love it and not want it to end.

Love love love spade and Denise together . They make such a sweet couple. I love the back stories of the cat and bones friends

Denise wanted a normal life, se tried to cut ties with the paranormal world after the events that lead to her husband's death, but now she is being hunted by a demon and when she tries to call her friend Cat she finds it pretty difficult after all that time. Spade is the one she can reach, but he's a little reluctant to help her to contact his friend Bones, after all they just went through, so he goes to find her in the middle of a big problem and gets involve by a little blackmail by Denise part.
When you read a spinoff of a series you really like it's very hard to love it just as much, so you have to go open minded that is not your favorite characters story, and that way you can give the story a chance. That being said... Denise fell short for me as heroine; the story lack agility in some parts; the plot was a bit of a stretch; and finally the ending so rush that left something out really important without a second thought.
But even when it wasn't perfect or a WOW there were things that I like very much: I loved Spade in the Nighthuntress books and I love him here too, yes he's not Bones but he has his charm and a lot of it; we get the little remarks that make us laugh; and we get to see the characters that we know and love (Ian is remarkable); the events in this book are after DFAEG, so you probably should read the Nighthuntress series before this one (it's worth it!!!), and even when we didn't get Vlad (sniff) I was jumping up and down like a little girl when Bones makes his appearance.
So all and all I think it's a 3.5 it was fun and entertaining not quite as great as Halfway to the Grave but a good start for the Nighthuntress world; I wait anxiously for Mencheres story and I hope there will be a Vlad and Ian's in the future.

I love Jeaniene Frost and loved all her books. This is exactly what I've been expecting. It has a wonderful story and I loved how she re-caps on the previous events. I can't wait for the next book. Again another guilty pleasure that does not disapoint. This is a must read.

Love this series. It was riveting and sensual just as the rest of Jeaniene Frost's books generally are. I love the inclusion of Cat, Bones, Ian and the other characters from previous books. Enjoyable read!

This book goes deeper into Spade's background. He is helping Denise to keep her from a demon. Bones and Cat are also in the book. You will not be disappointed. Jeaniene Frost has accomplished what most authors cannot accomplish and that is the book grabs you from the beginning and you will not want to put it down.

I've only started reading Frost novels this year and I love EVERYTHING she writes! Can't wait for something else to get my hands on....I was especially drawn to this book because of Charle's chivalrous behavior.

It's official-- I will buy anything Jeaniene Frost writes. I didn't think I was going to enjoy Spade and Denise as much as I had Cat and Bones, but I did. It was so fun to be back in the Dark Huntress world with all the characters we love. I'm not going to summarize the plot because others have done it very well, but if you are a fan of JF's other work you won't be disappointed with this one. Great plot, steady pacing, engaging characters, and a love story that's hot. There arn't many people that can write paranormal romance and keep the action balanced with the romance so you don't get too much of either, and Jeaniene Frost does this with ease.

Lately it seems, everything I read is strictly vampyres, but I really like the way the demonic nature of Raum plays a crucial role in the characters. The story started getting interesting at that point, and I always like some lust mixed into the story, which this book delivered and I would recommend First Drop of Crimson."Dantalion of the Goetia": The legend is foretold, from the writings of the Ars Goetia, he who bears the name of Dantalion, hath fallen from grace. ... who wears the mark of a demon... A fun, fast, easy read, kept me interested and coming back for the next book. Great entertainment for anyone who is overworked or tired and just wants to indulge in mindless entertaiment other than the TV.
