This book was extremely well written, very entertaining and extra steamy. The flow of the book seemed seamless and the characters were well developed. Levi seems almost perfect but Lucy is maybe a tad too independent. The only slight issue I had with the book was this tiny tendency of repeating itself - hotshot firefighter - got it ?. Definitely one click worthy.
I received an ARC of the book and this is my honest review.

“Burn So Bad” is another fabulous romance by J.H. Croix. The story flows nicely and is captivating from the first to last chapter. Beautiful, smart Lucy Caldwell owns a construction company with her best friend Amelia. She is standoffish and doesn't date due to past abuse. Levi Phillips is the hunky firefighter who has been attracted to Lucy forever. How they come together makes for very interesting reading. “Burn So Bad” has drama, heartache, passion, laughs, hot scenes and of course true love. This is a book you won't want to pass up. This is the third book in the Into the Fire ? series. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. There's action, adventure, drama, suspense, twist/turns, survival, hatred, conflict, trust, friendship, romance, passion/lust and love.
Love is an emotion between two people based on trust. But, the couple has to build on that trust. That is what this book is about, TRUST! It is a must read especially if you love books about firefighters.

No surprise here that we're given another fantastic addition to this sizzling series!! The writing is smooth and fast paced and along with the compelling storyline, draws you in and has you hooked from page 1. I loved these characters and their journey. The love scenes will definitely light your fire, the personal demons the female lead faces will break your heart but her strength well endear her to you. The sexy male lead, with his patience and caring will make you swoon and the HEA will put a smile on your face. I can't wait for the next installment!!

What does an independent woman and a hotshot fire fighter have in common? A romance that is incendiary! Levi and Lucy are a very interesting. Lucy comes from an abusive background and as a result of that she does not date. Levi took one look at Lucy and knew that there was something special about her and she was the one for him. When Lucy has it out with her landlord and finds herself homeless, the unthinkable happens and she moves in with Levi. As they spend time together Levi is determined to do what ever it takes to get Lucy on the same page. Will Lucy come to this conclusion before it's too late?

Although each story is a standalone, I love the series, the hotshot firefighters, and the warm and caring community that they portray. Lucy is one of two female co-owner of a the Bad A** construction company, and her big prickly attitude is at odds with her small, petite frame. Despite her closed off attitude, sweet and flirty Levi had been determined to get under her skin and perhaps more, but had opted to give her space. That all changes when an unexpected series of circumstances finds her crashing in his guest room. I loved how the story unfolded and was so happy to see Lucy get her HEA.

Zooey, was this ever another winner for J.H. Croix. Lucy was strong, independent, gorgeous, but as far as male relationships went, she was insecure and extremely vulnerable. And then there was Levi--strong, independent, sexy as hell, hunky, delicious and patient, very, very patient. He knew what he wanted with Lucy and he worked and waited for it, and worked and waited for it some more. I just love Levi. I've loved this whole series.
I volunteered to review an arc of this book, and I am so glad that I did. It was such an enjoyable read, and one that anyone into romance would enjoy.

I received an advanced copy of this book. I voluntarily submit the following review:

Levi has had a thing for Lucy for a long time. Lucy is very headstrong and vulnerable with no desire to become involved with any man. I really liked this story. I liked that Levi valued Lucy and her feelings and how Lucy's journey to her acceptance of her feelings was portrayed.

J.H. Croix has a way of making a reader feel like part of the story and although I prefer a narrative style over the first person style, this series is hard to put down once you start reading.

I received an ARC for my honest review. This book is one of a series but can definitely be read as a stand alone. I absolutely loved this book! Levi is a Hot Shot Alaskan Firefighter. Lucy is part owner of Kick A** construction. He has flirted with her for a long time always rebuffed and rejected by prickly Lucy. Levi knows that if he could just get through her prickly defenses they could really have something. Lucy knows if she allows anyone in it could mean the end of her independence. Lots of heat, lots of sarcastic quips and an all around great book!

** spoiler alert ** After her childhood, Lucy has problems with letting people close. Levi has wanted to explore the attraction to Lucy for years, but she has resisted. Will Levi finally understand what his father was talking about years ago? Will Lucy let down her walls to let Levi in?

Loved getting to know these two after hearing about them since the first book in this series. I didn't blame Lucy for being closed off, but was really proud when she started to let down her walls. LOVED Levi and how sweet and understanding he was. Great read!

Review I absolutely love Burn So Bad which brings us Levi and Lucy’s story. This is now my favorite of the Into the Fire series. If your looking for a book about a strong feisty female and a smoking hot firefighter, then you need to grab this book and get ready to settle in for a night of reading. Lucy had an experience in high school which makes her resist a relationship. Levi was asking Lucy out regularly, but has now stopped. Is this him giving up or is he just giving Lucy space. No spoilers, but I will say you may need a couple of tissues

This book was so perfect. The characters were perfectly developed, the story line was not rushed and we got to reconnect with characters from the previous 2 books. Lucy & Levi grow closer to each other when an unexpected housing emergency makes Lucy homeless during peak tourism season so she accepts Levi's offer to move in temporarily. There were times this book had me on the edge of my seat and times I was laughing out loud. Everyone should try this book Well, the ones over 18 that is, lol. WOW..... This story makes you feel all tingly in just the right places. There's a fine line between love and hate and Lucy and Levi definitely cross the line. They're perfect together! The sexy hotshot fireman knew it all along, it just took the feisty construction worker a bit longer to figure it out. It's hot, sexy, emotional and you'll definitely feel the heat!
J.H. CROIX takes my breath away with this beautiful story! I can't wait for the next one!

Beautiful story from one of my favorite authors. Levi, the hot male lead, is really just a sweet guy looking for love. Lucy is a bit awkward and i was probably through a third of the book before I really started to like her. Lucy struggles with her feelings for Levi, (she is a very independent woman), but...just read the book...so much fun watching these two! A perfect blend of characters, setting and dialogue makes this a perfect read. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily leaving a review.

I have really enjoyed the Into The Fire Series and finally getting Lucy's story was great.

Lucy is prickly to say the least and Levi has been trying to wear her down for years. All it takes is a busted arm and her needing a place to stay! But don't think that the HEA is going to be that easy. Lucy has got a tricky past and she holds everything close to her chest, but when she decides to feel...man does she.
It was great catching up with the rest of the crew and I hope we get more stories in the future!

Levi had liked Lucy for ages. He flirted with her but she always gave him the cold shoulder. Her l8vi g arrangements change & she finds herself homeless. Levi invites her to stay with him. She does against her better judgement. She's so turned on by Levi that it's driving her crazy. The chemistry between the characters was so hot. Such a great book. So we'll written & I would highly recommend this book. This author rocks. Thanks.

This is my first book in the firefighter series and I loved it. The characters were hot for each other and the chemistry was smoldering. This book is a page turner and the story developed and was an easy read. Levi knew what he wanted and he wanted Lucy and did not give up on her. I will be reading the previous books, since they are standalones this should not be a problem, even if characters are crossing over. The pages were on fire and a scorching. I am reviewing an ARC copy of this book.

Once again this author has delivered an incredible storyline and characters, absolutely wonderful. This has become one of my absolute favorite series. The friendship between everyone is untouchable, but the chemistry and the flames between the couples are so hot it'll melt. These hot shots don't have a chance once they've met their true loves, but each one of the girls definitely give them a run for their money. I cannot wait to see who's next in this series. Another smoking hot read by J.H. Croix! This was a well written, sweet romance with well defined, loveable, funny characters. Levi is a Hotshot Firefighter and Lacy is a construction worker. He loves to tease and flirt with her. She hates how attracted she is to Levi and how he teases her. When she needs a place to stay he offers his spare room. After that their attractions won't be held back. Will she let go of her insecurities? Fun and passion in this romance about letting go to be happy!

Totally loving this series! Each book has strong men that live strong women. My favorite part is that the men don’t try to change them women but love them for their strength and for being themselves. Absolutely love Levi. The way he loves Lucy through her quirks and doesn’t run when she tries to push him away. I loved the heat and passion shared between them through the whole story.

A romantic steamy romance. Great characters Lucy and Levi heat up the sheets but the relationship between them is what makes you smile. Levi is a patient rugged beautiful man who cares for Lucy. Lucy is a surly tough girl that refuses to accept help and has closed herself off to men. The writer really does a nice job bringing these two together. Another great book. Levi is a hotshot fire fighter in Alaska. Lucy is an electrician, a builder and a partner/owner of a construction company. Lucy has a very bad day where she got hurt and got saved by Levi and lost her home. Levi invited her to stay with him in his spare bedroom. Their attraction to each other is red hot. Loved the dynamic between Levi and Lucy. She is a complicated young woman that avoids commitment like the plague. She will need to resolve issues before she can move on with her life.

Levi is a man that knows what he wants and is willing to wait to get it.

The push and pull between the characters will keep the reader entertained to the very end.
