“10 Dates” by Emily James is a hilarious romantic comedy that hooked me from the very beginning.
Joanie Fox, also referred to as Four in the book, life is in a rut and all she wants is to get married and start a family. After wasting three years on a relationship that went nowhere, she is ready to give up on men and spend her nights curled up on the sofa with ice cream. But her two besties have other ideas and soon Joanie is preparing for a dating frenzy – ten dates in ten days. Will Joanie find her happily ever after or just end up with a lot of frogs?
This book is absolutely hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud for most of it, with an occasional snort or two, so you may want to be careful where you read it. The various dates that Joanie goes on are one disaster after another and make for great comedic fare. This leads to many hallway encounters with her sexy neighbor Six and the chemistry between the two is off the charts! The characters are relatable and well written, with a cast of supporting characters that get their own moments to shine. (And Melinda is getting her own book – yay!) The author does an excellent job of balancing a lot of humor with romance while keeping the story moving at a steady pace.
This is my first book by the author and it won’t be my last. I highly recommend this 4-star read.

Very funny, though cliched, romantic comedy. After a grand public announcement by her boyfriend turns out not to be the marriage proposal Joanie expected, her eyes are opened to what a loser Chris is and she dumps him. But rather than let her mope, her two best friends concoct a scheme for her to go on ten dates with ten different men in ten days, dates that could hardly be less disasterous. And in the wake of each is her hunk of a neighbour ready to - in equal measures - help her pick herself up, and take the piss out of her! Yeah, you can see where this is going, but trust me it's a really funny journey to get there neverthless.
Some super turns of phrase in this. The yowling that sounded "like a hamster being fisted" is a description that will definitely stay with me! Shame as much attention wasn't paid to proofreading, as there were a few too many errors of the there/their/they're variety.
Note: there is on-page sex in this novel, though described in a way that's appropriate to the story and not at all pornographic.

10 Dates by Emily James was absolutely hilarious. Its one of the books that I want to read for the first time all over again. You want to keep flipping the pages but slow down as well just so you can enjoy every second of it. This is one fun book you need to read.
Joanie Fox has been waiting what feels like forever for her boyfriend to pop the question. Unfortunately, she learns there are a lot of frogs in the world and she must navigate through to find her prince charming. The one thing I loved about this book was the crazy people that live in the same building as her. They are all nuts! She goes through lots of dates with a whole sea of frogs to try and find her Prince. It almost seemed endless.
I love how we See Joanie in the beginning and almost think she’s a weak character but she isn’t. She’s actually very strong but it’s not a “in your face’ type of strong character. She was able to see the wrong in that previous relationship and knows what she does and doesn’t want when it comes to sharing her life with someone. A lot of people would just settle and she won’t.
This is probably my favorite summer read so far. I CANNOT wait to read more from Emily!

Absolutely Loved this book. It’s a Sexy, Flirty and Fun Read. Joanie, or Four as she is know to her sexy neighbor who lives in #Six, is down on her luck. After 3 years of dating and thinking she was heading to the altar, her boyfriend leaves her causing her bestie to set her up on 10 dates in days. From there all I can say is let the laughter begin.
Poor Joanie has the worst luck at absolutely the wrong times but she is a strong woman with a sharp tongue (when needed) and for the most part a great outlook on life. Joanie has the craziest family and the zaniest friends (including Six). The author has truly written great characters that you can’t help but Love and feel like you’ve known them all your life.
If you enjoy RomComs that will keep you smiling, grinning and glued to the pages, 10 Dates is the book for you. I can’t recommend it enough. It’s very well written and you absolutely will not regret one-clicking this one!

Joanie thought she'd be engaged by now. But after being humiliated in front of everyone with a break up on stage, her best friends decide to help her out in finding a perfect match. 10 dates and one is bound to be the perfect match. Except now she has her neighbor whom she refers to as six that seems to be butting in weather she wants him to or not.
This was such a fun and hilarious story. We've all had those crappy dates and they are made worse when they are blind dates. Joanie is a clutz and six seems to have made it even worse for her. With the crazy dates, the pent up sexual frustration, and the banter between Joanie and her neighbor... I couldn't put the book down. I had been rooting for six from the start and hoped Joanie wouldn't fall back to her ex. If you love romcom this is the book for you :)

When Joanie thinks her life is about to change for the better she is sadly mistaken! Her boyfriend takes off across an ocean and still wants to be together, instead of proposing. Who could give up on love? So Joanie's BFF plans 10 dates in 10 days for her to jump back in the game. These dates vary in what activities they do and where they go but each one of them is a hoot! Joanie has no idea how but she will get revenge on her friend. Joanie's new neighbour also helps out where he can and take care of her after an incident on one of her dates.
This romantic comedy will have you feeling the ups and downs along with the characters. You will laugh and feel sad maybe even cry a little. But this ending will have you say "Awww".

Absolutely
Really
Cute
This is my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it.
Four and Six have this cute chemistry and the cute banter is hilarious. Joanie aka Four thought she would be engaged by now but her partner has other things on his mind. Her best friends Miley and Melinda have come up with a plan that will make your dating life seem so much better than hers.
Ryan aka Six is this Tall, Dark, and Gorgeous hunk who can't help but to annoy Four everytime he sees her and it's funny as heck.
I cracked up on the infamous cookies and the bruised butt incident. So looking forward to reading more of Emily Janes books in the future. What a cute easy read.

Ms.James had me enraptured again! This book had it all. Heart, laughs and steam that filled this fast paced read. I could hardly put it down.
Joanie finds herself suddenly single after her long time boyfriend drops a bomb she wasn't prepared for. After that her friends devise a plan to help Joanie regain the person she was. Her friends get her to agree to six blind dates and each one has a humorous tale in itself, but then Joanie gets a kink in her chain when she meets her neighbor "Six"
Six gives her a run for her money and ladies Six is one swoon worthy man! This has all the qualities of a 5 star read!
Thanks Ms James for the great read!

Her easy involvement with such a convenient character romantically and lack of independence/damsel in distress for a woman in her 30’s was boring and overdone. The first few chapters were attention grabbing but it got painfully stereotypical after that.

This is a completely different approach of writing for Emily James. It's sassy sweet and funny. I loved going through the whole date journey with Joanie. I loved her Sexy Neighbor and laughed so much to see Joanie eat some of Mickeys cooking . P.s i want her sexy neighbor across the hall.

Short sweet to the point....y'all I laughed until I snorted. This is a feel good romp. And ladies, if you should ever fall at a hunky mans feet and need to grab something, pray he is in a towel and well endowed. Go big or go home.
Loved it.

This was a funny romantic comedy. I loved "six" aka Ryan. His character was well written. At first I wasn't sure what he was up to, but I loved the ending. Joanne was also a great character, glad she wised up. Overall it was a light, funny read well worth your time.

Good writing with an amusing if slightly daft heroine, much funnier than most similar novels. Good sizzle. No annoying fake "misunderstanding" thrown in before the ending. All in all very light but fun reading.

I thought character Joanie was completely relatable. She's in her thirties & not wanting to be alone with a hundred cats. She agrees to her best friend's idea of 10 blind dates in 10 days... until sexy neighbor has something to say.
Please Rate10 Dates: A fun and sexy romantic comedy novel
Joanie has just broken up with her douchebag fiance after three years. She was expecting a marriage proposal but received something else.
Joanie's new neighbor, who lives in apartment six, is hot, sexy and frustrating. A restaurant and casino owner. Six has caught Four (his name for her since she lives in apartment number four) in a few bare predicaments and seems to be rescuing her often like a damsel in distress.
Four promised her best friend, Melinda, that she would go out on ten dates for the next ten days with ten different guys in order to experience the love department. My favorites were military/broken azz, cop/cookie stoner and Mr. Burns/tits. You will have to read the book in order to understand these meanings and you won't regret it!
Emily James has written a hilarious and entertaining story that will captivate you from the beginning and will keep you laughing throughout this amazing story.. It was cute how she used their apartment numbers as their names. I loved all the characters including Four's mum. I would definitely recommend this fabulous book!
I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.
