Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink is a precious story about a sassy girl doing her best to make money for some gum balls.  It is another great book in the Pinkalicious series, and I enjoyed reading it to my daughter in her early elementary days.

What I disliked: Nothing.  I am very biased and love this line.

What I liked: I love the colors, vibrancy and problem solving of this book.  Pinkalicious wants to purchase gum balls, she works hard to earn the money, and after some innocent trial and error, she is able to achieve that goal with a little help ;)

Author, Victoria Kahn has really created a fun, colorful, creative character with Pinkalicious. We love all the Pinkalicious books. In this book, Pinkalicious has decided to color her skates with magic marker and for a second I was worried that my daughter upon hearing this would decide this was the way to make her shoes match her clothes. I trudged along, hopeful that Victoria knew what she was doing and kept reading without interjecting. Thankfully, the markers did what markers will do when they touch water and Pinkalicious had to deal with her skates changing and the embarrassment of "everyone seeing" her sloppy skates and the ice.

Goddess was worried for Pinkalicious and was upset that she was crying about her skates. "Poor Pinkalicious". Like every Pinkalicious book, Mommy and Daddy make it all better. Which is one of the things I love about this series. Pinkalicious is allowed to be witty, smart and funny without the cost of Mommy and Daddy looking like total fools. They always save the day. They love their little girl and make everything alright which is why she is so well adjusted.

My son and daughter both love Pinkalicious and with this book being a Beginning 1 Reader most 6 and 7 year olds will be able to read it with ease.

If you are looking to get your children or any child on your Christmas list books this year; WE highly recommend any and all of the Pinkalicious books by Victoria Kahn. We must not be the only ones because, they are never available at our local library.

Pinkalicious is a fun and fabulous read! Pinkalicious decides to earn money to buy pink gumballs by selling pink lemonade, but her first effort to make the drink pink by adding grapefruit, watermelon, frosting, and beets is not a great success.

This is an accelerated reader book. I'm always looking for interesting AR books for my children to read since they have to have so many points every grading period. (AR) reading level 2.1 - AR Pts: 0.5

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS (LOL)!!!! The story goes that Pinkalicious receives a pair of ice skates as a surprise gift, but instead of being thankful, Pinkalicious doesn't like them. After all, they aren't pink! They are plain, boring white. So what does she do? Get pink marker and color all over them. She does not get reprimanded for this, although you can tell the mom isn't pleased by her facial expression. By the end of the book, the mom apologizes for her original dislike of the defaced skates and says that they are perfect. If I bought my child clothing or shoes and she marked all over them... well... it would not be okay. Additionally, in the book when the pink comes off the skates, it makes pretty swirls all over the ice, and the skates themselves end up being a beautiful pattern of swirls. Quite unlike the mess of stained EVERYTHING that would happen with marker bleeding everywhere, not to mention that any pair of skates colored by a small child are going to look hideous. We used the book as an object lesson of what would happen if my kids EVER marked up their clothes/shoes, what they might do if they didn't like the color (first express thanks and appreciation for the gift, then ask if it comes in other colors) and finally, it was a lesson in recycling.

This book gets two stars from me only because the words were the appropriate level for new readers. The plot, however, gets zero stars. Kids don't need to read stories where the protagonist does awful things and then gets rewarded for it.

We have read just about every Pinkalicious book and this one is a favorite. Pinkalicious wants to earn money for the bubble gum machine so she makes a pink lemonade stand and makes the lemonade herself! After getting it wrong at first, she turns it around with some help from her mother and earns enough for some bubble gum (which she mostly splits with her brother). Cute read and a good length for a bedtime story.

Dear Readers,
I think Pinkalicious is a good book, because she is so funny. She always wears pink and that is my favorite color. I like when she colors her skates pink. It has colorful pictures. I would love to read this book to you.

My 4 year old has loved all the Pinkalicious stories for 2 years now. These "I can read" stories are much simpler and shorter with not as much depth but that is how they are designed. She loves for me to read them now and I know she'll be thrilled to be have some of her favorite stories among the first books she can read!

My 3 year old practically has it memorized now. Personally, I think Pinkalicious is pretty annoying but the stories are cute and keep my daughter's attention. Despite the fact that she colored her entire hand with marker and declared "Look, I'm Pinkalicious!" I like this book.

Nice story about a young girl learning about following conventional rules at school. How fun to have a unicorn as a pet! How fun to bring it to school! It's great Pinkalicious can shed a few tears that cause the teacher to allow the unicorn to stay as long as she learns correct behavior at school. Young girls especially will enjoy the story as well as the beautiful illustrations.

I like the Pinkalicious books but was very disappointed in this one. I come from Regina, Sk.,Canada and have skated a great deal. Skates don't get wet when you skate and they don't leave pretty swirls in the ice. Water does when it is fluid but ice is a solid and when you are learning to skate and falling on the ice, you would leave blotches not swirls.
