Again stayed up way to late reading this book (just as I did the first book in the series), but I could not put it down. This book did not disappoint, action packed from beginning to end. Loving how the characters are evolving with each other. The ending is an awesome cliffhanger - can't wait for the next book!!

I always worry when starting reading a series, that the later books will not be as good as the first. This series gave me no reason to worry! Sun Mage is as good (or maybe better!) than the first book, Fire Mage, and follows the same set of characters. There is a lot of action, and the story moves very quickly. I loved the fantasy elements of this story, just like the first - and I loved watching the characters grow in their relationships with each other and as individuals. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Blacklight Chronicles!

The book starts off slightly confusing, and hard to keep track of but it portrays the character's moods very well. The book keeps you on your toes and makes you more and more nervous as it continues on. The weather and setting reflects and foreshadows events. There are some silly parts though, like how sleep talking can give away almost all of your plans. The story overall in my opinion seemed shorter in comparison to the first book and I do wish it was maybe slightly longer, but overall and plot wise it was a good book. Some tiny nit-picky unimportant details are off, but It was really good in general. The ending was a cliffhanger which also makes you want to keep reading. Im hoping for some better quality in the next book, but it sounds pretty awesome. I really do wonder how the author will approach the next plot.

Once again John Forrester writes another action packed and fast paced book with the second book of Blacklight Chronicles. The suspense increased with every chapter and the ending grips you and leave you in dire need to read the third book in this series. A great read with characters that continue to strive and grow in their adventure.
