The Wake Up

Another excellent human interest story from Catherine Ryan Hyde. The parallels between Aiden and Milo come closer and closer as you progress through the book, right up to the end. Whenever I see another book by her, I want to read it.

A well written and poignant piece deliberately aimed at those to whom empathy is a stranger. We need to feel Aiden's empathy to understand the very essence of his character. You need to love his courage and convictions. A worthwhile read on many levels.

I particularly look forward to all Catherine Ryan Hyde books because each delves deeply into the life or lives of her characters. I have a hard time putting her books down. However, this time in round it a bit slow initially but now that I have finished the book it was a good read. I again await her next gift.

This is a wonderful book skillfully written in a way that lets your emotions move with the characters as the characters learn about themselves and each other. I love this authors care for people and animals. The story deals withthe difficult subject of child abuse, but hope shines through.
