The kaiju Maigo returns. This time she's up against five other kaiju. I haven't read many giant monster books before. This series started with "Island 731" and is very interesting and addictive. I'm now working on the fourth book "Project 731".

I have really enjoyed both of Jeremy Robinson's kaiju novels featuring Nemesis from the contemporary cultural references to the humor to the vivid battle sequences. I re-read Project Nemesis before starting this book and plan to go purchase Island 731 ASAP!

If massive monster mayhem is your thing then this is a great book for you! Great characters, good plot, and a dash of comedy. ( I recommend reading nemesis first, just to get the back story). Another great book from Jeremy Robinson!

I have read both books in the series (Project Maigo & Project Nemesis). The books and series are real page turners. If you want great stories, exciting fast action and great characters these are the books to read. Jeremy Robinson is great. I would love to see more in this series.

"Project Maigo" is the follow up to Jeremy Robinson's first Kaiju novel "Project Nemesis". This book continues the story of Jon Hudson and his friends at the Homeland Security Fusion Center as they track and investigate the more unusual threats to US security. Jon and his team saved many lives from the massive Kaiju "Nemesis" in the first book, but are in no way prepared for what they will face this second time around as five Kaiju, all under the control of a familiar madman, now threaten the entire world.
In my opinion, Robinson's second attempt at the Kaiju genre is not nearly as successful as the first. In the first book (Nemesis) the author gave you the heartbreaking story of a little girl murdered by her own father, and then against her will transformed into an enormous monster that seeks retribution for all of the evils of the world. The story had humor, had action, but at its heart (no pun intended) was the story of Maigo. It was the internal battle of wills between an enormous monster of vengeance and a brave but broken little girl. And in the end, the power of the human spirit prevailed. In this second episode, we find that General Gordon has linked himself to a new powerful group of young Kaiju and plans to use them to exact revenge on all who have wronged him in the past. He will, in the process, destroy anything that gets in his way....including Washington DC. The big problem for this book is that it lacks the soul of the first book. "Project Maigo" is all far-fetched action sequences, one liner humor, and completely over the top monster battles. It reads less like a serious novel and more like a really big comic book, or Saturday morning cartoon show. It was a lot like reading the script of one of the transformer movies. All flash and bang with no real substance. I've read everything that Robinson has written and I'm certainly a fan....but I think this is his weakest effort by far.
Also worth a side note in regards to this book is that it has a fair amount of language in it. That's unusual for a Robinson novel. And unfortunate. Because the language is unnecessary and adds little to the story.
This book is going to be mostly enjoyed by fans of Robinson who are willing to overlook the lack of a deeper story and settle for what is basically a summer blockbuster movie in print form. Anyone who typically enjoys Robinson's deeper plots and storytelling are going to leave this one disappointed.

I never thought I would rate a Jeremy Robinson book so low but this book did not hold my attention. I did't care about the characters and I didn't hate the bad guy. I've read almost every book Jeremy Robinson/Bishop has written and this is the first one that I did not care for.

The 2nd in this story line, the first being Project Nemesis. Our favorite Department of Homeland Security division, Fusion Center - Paranormal returns with Jon Hudson, our hero and his small fighting force. There are more kaiju in this story and they are destroying cities all over the globe. Nemesis makes several appearances in this novel and performs heroically to save Jon, while being attacked by kaiju and the military. Jon is battling an evil Colonel. The final battle takes place in Washington DC.
This story starts strong with great action and doesn’t slow down. It starts with slave traders in Hong Kong where Jon meets up with his personal nemesis, Endo. Endo introduces Jon to neuro transmitters. These come in handy late in the story when fighting the kaiju. The kaiju, except for Nemesis, are on a rampage. They are connected to the evil Colonel and he is directing them to destroy those he believes are his enemies. He intends to destroy the president, as well as Jon before then turning his force against all the practitioners of evil in the world, namely, humans. Whenever Jon becomes in danger, Nemesis arrives to save him. They are connected through Jon’s efforts in the previous book.
Jeremy Robinson has created a great story in Project Nemesis and Project Maigo. He has cleverly pulled in a character from his Chess Team Series, as well as from his Island 731 book. His imaginative and refreshing look at his subject matter continues to draw the interest of those who are looking for something just a little bit different. Project Maigo is a great book for those looking for further stories about kaiju, lots of action, great characters, and a great hero. The ending is very surprising and yet very pleasing. I truly enjoy reading Jeremy’s characters who have honor, integrity, compassion, and the ability to keep going in the midst of major crisis.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a SciFi interest as well as an interest in kaiju and the military. I love that Jon names various things after his college girlfriend. I love Jon’s sense of humor and his strength. You will too.

Nemesis is no longer the only kaiju, and that means trouble. Trouble for everyone caught in the path of one epic battle after another. Robinson fans will recognize characters from another series, and one or two subtle—if tongue in cheek—references to his other books.
More monsters bring more mayhem and more epic adventure. Hudson has his work cut out for him this time around.

I had high hopes for this book, enjoying the first as much as I did. I didn’t really see how it could be equalled but I feel it was surpassed. Jeremy Robinson is an entertaining author that always seems to bring the fun, excitement and destruction, along with a dose of realism, I know kaiju and realism probably don’t go together but that is the beauty of this book, you get the monsters destroying everything but you also have the human relationships, you cannot help but get drawn in and hope things work out for the characters.
Jeffrey Kafer is pretty outstanding in his performance of the kaiju, I must admit, I wasn’t sure he could pull it off, I don’t think ‘monsters’ when I think of Kafer, however, I was happily surprised. Kafer can definitely do Kaiju. I was so engrossed in the narration and story that I often forgot I was in a public place, I may have received an odd look or two, but it was worth it. I enjoyed it so much, I actually listened to it twice in the space of a week.
I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone that enjoys kaiju thrillers, entertaining writing with pop culture references and impressive narrating skills.

Jeremy Robinson once again brings you an exciting Kaiju adventure that literally will blow Godzilla out of the water. In this second installment featuring Nemesis , we see Hudson and his team trying to stop not just one, but several Kaiju wreck havoc to big cities across the world including Sydney and Washington DC. I love that each Kaiju is different and has its own crazed mind and personality. Will Jon Hudson and his team be able to save the world from Kaiju destruction? Will Maigo ever be at peace? You'll have to read it to find out.

So now I have finished two books about freaking Kaijus. REALLY!!!! Yup, and I can't wait for the next one. Even thinking I might have to watch a bit of Godzilla on the tube. Good stuff Mr. Robinson, you've got this old guy hooked.

If you enjoyed Jeremy Robinson's Project Nemesis, his first Kaiju book, you will not be disappointed in Project Maigo! Enjoy the returning players from the first novel, meet some new ones and more cool Kaiju to reward you with kicked up action that will keep you enthralled until the end, or is it??
Don't pass up this wonderful sequel! Get the book and expect to read from cover to cover in one setting. You will not want to put it down! At times, I really felt like I was watching a movie, that is how detailed and colorful Jeremy's writing is.I didn't even like Godzilla type movies or books before Project Nemesis, but now, I am in for all Kaiju books Robinson dreams up. As an added bonus, Robinson has included artwork by fans of the book you will want to check out. Don't wait, get it now!

This was an incredible sequel to Project Nemesis and made me run the gamut of emotions - I even had a tear in my eye at one point! Filled with the usual action-packed, thrilling scenes, hilarious inner (and spoken) dialogue by the hero, Jon Hudson, this was a true winner. I'm not going to spoil the end but - wow!!!!- what an ending! I had barely stopped feeling sad about the end, when the epilogue blew me away and I closed the book with a big stupid grin on my face! Good job, Jeremy Robinson - another winner!

This book was better than any Godzilla movie ever made. The action never slows down, from the first word to the final word it just builds till you feel like your brain will explode ( heh, heh! "A little insider joke) you'll understand when you read the book. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this Project Nemesis sequel! Once again I am loving a Kaiju book. Project Maigo is a well written thriller with some great funny parts and also some heart. I also loved the cameo by a few Chess Team members. It is so great as a reader when these little nuggets are left for us. The addition of some of the Island 731 characters is also a treat and fits perfectly into this Kaiju series. I am eagerly awaiting Project 731!

This is a continuation of the book NEMESIS. More action, more guns, more of everything. I'm not a spoiler giver so don't look for clues here but know, its worth the journey! As impossible as it sounds Maigo gives you her inside and its beautiful, unexpected and such a joy to experience. Plus, smashing everything is sight is good for releasing the tension of the daily grind! ENJOY!

Project Maigo by Jeremy Robinson left my eyes brimming with tears on more than one occasion. After reading Project Nemesis I was curious to see where this story would go, I never expected it to go here though! The queen of the Kaiju will knock you off your feet!
Jeffrey Kafer did an amazing job with the narration, emerging you in the story and allowing you to feel all the emotions as your own.

If you liked the original Japanese thrillers Godzilla and Mothra, you just may love these books. Watched those movies as a kid and really enjoyed being reminded of them in these updated, well-written novels.
