Strange Stories and Shocking Trivia from Inside the White House

I learned some very interesting things about our first ladies, and found them sometimes more interesting than their husbands. A really good read for someone who likes history from the personal point of view. I highly recommend this work, and getting it on Kindle Fire makes it a really good deal.

I enjoyed the background information about the presidential wives that I had no knowledge of before. It seems that it takes a special lady to be the wife of the president. What I found from most of them was that it seemed like they were an important part of who their husbands had become.

What impressed me about all of the first ladies is how energetic and educated they all were. Most took the job seriously and worked very hard. Most came from money and status. All seemed to have influence over their president husbands. All in their own way were classy and worthy of the title.

Humorous take on the First Ladies. I enjoyed the details, but there was nothing new that has not already been written. The one constant that I learned was how many of the First Ladies did not want to be in that position.

I enjoyed this book. It is easy reading. The book does an excellent job of showing how important the First Lady's role is, and how difficult it can be, depending on the woman. It also sheds light on how the role affects the First Family and the marriage. There is interesting information included regarding the personality and attitude of the Presidents toward thier wives and thier job.
