Intertwining subjects made it interesting. However, there were many "recaps". Once you read about certain "incidents", it didn't need to be "revisited" frequently. You cared about the people, but the book could have been shorter by leaving out "recaps".

I love Debbie Macomber's writing. She has plenty of plot twists and good developed characters. What I object to is the very graphic love scenes that aren't necessary for the flow of the story. Perhaps this was her style earlier on, as I don't recall this in her newer Rose Harbor series.

Who's better than Debbie Macomber when you need a bit of cozy? Well, that's a rhetorical question because of course Debbie is the best! I love the Cedar Cove series! Moving storylines, memorable characters, hope, love, friendship and a bit of mystery. Cedar Cove is a character in its own right. You'll want to pick up and move the whole fam out west and get to know the locals. Five stars!

I have enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books I have read previously. However; I am disappointed in the Cedar Cove series books. I watched the TV series, but would have been disapointed in the books even if I had not seen the TV series. In my opinion, the Cedar Cove series books are disjointed, slow reading, a bit boring, and seem to be written by a more inexperienced author than I have experienced in Debbie Macomber's other books I have read.
