While the first Rebel Fleet book was a little weird and the action a little too good to be true, with about - hundred plot twists/events that made the book a little too fast paced for my liking, the second book improves the story telling and storyline making the series more likeable, at lease to me.

I'm not saying that there aren't any action scenes, fast talking, scheming aliens or beautiful women, there's plenty of those and lots more... all inline with Blake's greater than life persona.

Definitively a good read, and I look forward to the next on in the series.

Exactly what I look for in SF - entertainment! Story moves quickly, the author doesn't lose you in reiterating what happened in the first story. Action galore, a girl (and a female alien) love interest, I thought both volumes had a good balance of some losses in between the wins - keeping you guessing.

The book doesn't spend a lot of time trying to convince you the tech is realistic unlike some authors who seem to think they need to talk you into believing it's plausible (c'mon folks - it's science fiction) - great from my perspective!

Hope this series continues - looking forward to it!

Blake's ad ventures continue with another round with the rebel fleet. Earth has engineered a vessel from the data of the ship Blake brought back and hid on earth. The imperialist are searching for Blake or earth to destroy them as a threat to imperial worlds cannot be allowed to exist. Blake as usual uses his intelligence and craziness to defeat his enemies both imperial and rebel. Lesson is don't mess with Blake, you will lose. A new group is revealed called the nomads previous inhabitants of the Orion arm. Entertaining and engrossing read worth the purchase.

I have really enjoyed Larson's books in the past, especially the Lost Colonies Triology. I was very excited to try out the Rebel Fleet series when I saw it on the store. The first book in the series took a while to get my full attention, but by mid-point Larson succeeded in doing just that. In the first book, Larson created a vivid world with deep, well developed characters that you love and hate, and a story that grabs onto you and doesn't let go until the end. In Orion Fleet, Larson picks up the story from the end of Rebel Fleet and takes off at an insane pace. If you have problems with high blood pressure don't bother with this book because there is non stop, high stress action throughout the book. If you choose to ignore my warning, make sure you blood pressure prescription is filled because you will need it.

If you enjoyed Larson's characters in Rebel fleet, you will love them in Orion Fleet. Larson takes the same cast and further fleshes them out. He does a fantastic job of character development and by the end, you really feel like you know them. My only complaint with the cast of Orion Fleet was that Larson didn't bring Mia in until near the end.

As I stated earlier, Orion Fleet is a non-stop, action packed kick in the pants. A lot of authors will put their characters in impossible situations and then save them at the last moment in a non-believable miracle. Larson continually puts his characters in these same situations. The difference is when he brings them out safely, it isn't through an unbelievable deus ex machina contrivance. He drags you into danger and certain death with his characters and masterfully throws in a life preserver to pull you and the characters out in a completely plausible, but completely unpredictable way. It is an art most authors fail to master, or even handle with mediocrity. Larson has perfected the skill.

There were several times in the story where I actually laughed out loud. I don't laugh out loud during books. The book wasn't a comedy by any means, but Larson put humor to good use throughout the story.

This is one of the few books I listened to rather than read. I drive for a living and decided to download the Audible version of Orion Fleet to listen to at work. Mark Boyett did a masterful job of reading the story. It was one of the best readings I have heard.

If you enjoy sci-fi space adventures you will not go wrong with the Rebel Fleet series, particularly Orion Fleet. This is Larson at his best and you will not be disappointed.

I love BV Larson. This Rebel Fleet series is pretty good. Orion Fleet was a more fluent in the action and characters. I think having read Rebel Fleet and having the back story helped. I would definitely read the first book, then this one. It will make sense and be an interesting read. Freakish alien characters are entertaining. While I love out-right science fiction, I see no need for sex. He has it in there, but not overshadowing the main story.
Good read.

Another fine story by Larson. This story takes a completely different tact from the usual space yarn. It is very much like Romans vs barbarians. Different twists that keep you interested and wanting to pick the book back up to read more. I won't give any of the story away, but if you like Larson's tails then you will definitely like this book. Being that this is the 2nd book of the series please read Rebel Fleet first

For Mr Larson, this book irritated me less than other works. He appeared to have much more respect for military rank structure and discipline than some of his other books. The lead character continues to be a goat in heat, chasing after every female piece of tail he brings into the story, but thankfully he may be learning to forgo the details or keep it to some limit. I still find myself flipping through pages to avoid his repeated the sexual escapades that do nothing for the story but only accomplish making the lead character look like a child and not a character who is supposed to be a natural leader / diamond in the rough. A terrible trait in all his books I have read. Other than that the flow seems occasionally broken by lapse in change of events. There are moments it seems that the wrong characters are talking, or a change in action sequence when something that was done previously would inhibit an action performed later on. With all that said, I think this book is better than many of his previous books I have read. Considering these books cost half of paperbacks, or can be "borrowed" for free, then I will not hate on them too badly and for the price the entertainment return is ok. That rate of return certainly changes with some of the other books, but this one was certainly worthwhile to the point that I will read the next in the series.

Our main character is a familiar lead for Larson as he uses his innate leadership and quick thinking abilities to thwart far superior yet over confident foes. A great second chapter to the series once again has our hero fighting against impossible odds and saving the day with his imaginative and courageous actions. This one better than the first.

BV Larson does it again with the Rebel Fleet series.

The "ordinary" hero who is fast acting as well as quick on the uptake, bucking the system whose morals have faded in the pursuit of power. Throw in a supporting cast of diverse sensibilities, add well thought out and easily explained technologies along with a crisis that affects the whole lot...

What you get is a proven formula which produces an imaginative, action packed read complete with unexpected plot twists that is difficult to put down - the things for which BV Larson is known.

I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of this series as well as The Undying Mercenary and Lost Colony series.

Another well written Sci-Fi book and series, I read ALOT, it's one of the few things that I can still do to escape from my PTSD and being where I am so to physical issues.. This is another well written series that takes you out to space and make it believable by characters and story. Keep up the great work.

Good read. Enjoyed this one more than the first though there still needs to be better character development. I also still feel the rebel kher idea is a bit off. They shouldn't be quite so barbaric. Any race advanced enough to reach space would be smart enough to recognize the benefit of a true alliance against a common enemy.

As good as it gets for military science fiction! Great story all around, I couldn't stop reading! And I'm VERY hard to please with fiction writings! The balance of science to action was perfect! Plot, characters, weapons, conclusion, all superb! Don't even think about missing this if you claim to be a fan of science fiction!

B.V. comes through, again, with another good read! It reminds the reader of submarine warfare, with touches of some old movies like "The Enemy Below" and to a lesser extent "Das Boot" (The Boat"), but set in a space warfare setting eith a great cast of characters from multiple worlds. Never a disappointment from this author. Keep 'em coming!!

Who does not like stories where the powerful aliens try to dominate Earth and are outfoxed all the time? This series is like that. It's fast paced, full of action, and the "universe" is well fleshed out. A little lightweight, maybe, but it doesn't matter. A good read. I hope there will be a third book.

Science Fiction is not my normal genre, but I loved this book as well as book 1. Once the Audible version comes out of book 3, I will promptly buy it and continue. The books are infectious and likable. The stories are well conceived and complex enough to keep you on your toes.

I really enjoyed reading B V Larson book. Orion Fleet. Definitely not a well organized fleet, nor a strategically oriented operation, but very interesting concept. Without our earthling influence, all would have been for naught. Of course, without the EarthLink, nothing at all would have been done.

I enjoy B. V. Larsons books. They always leave you wanting the next book. Orion fleet is the same. I couldn't put the book down. I stayed up all night (much to the anger of my wife waking up to me reading it still.) as I had to find out what happens to the rebel fleet with the new imperial ships.

Not a good book. Mr. Larson concentrated way to much on the main character's ability to lie and equivocate and not enough time on the story. I like Mr. Larson's books but the rebel fleet books come off as a quick way to make some money.

Larson continues the fun he began with Rebel Fleet and takes us on a wonderful journey through space and time. It is like one continuous novel with adventures abounding at every turn. So much page turning fun.

Serendipity, dumb luck, brilliance, whatever it is that lets earths first ship survive in a universe of insanity. Very humorous and fun to read. Will Fex rise again. Nomads? Where are their horses I would love to find out.

An interesting reading. A technical advanced race that can be easily fooled by manipulating their excessive pride and sense of honor. And a man from The Earth who masterfully does that. It's fun to read.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book as I have the previous one in this series.
The story is moving right along at mostly faster than FTL. The involved Alien characters are as varied as the plots.
