Naero is a smallish, slightly built young woman who can beat up almost anyone. Events happen, she is in peril and is usually rescued in an improbable way but a mysterious unknown. She has alien technology in her DNA which gives her super powers -- right at the end of the book when they are needed.

There are massive space battles between huge fleets, but they happen "in the distance", just winners and losers are described.

In science fiction some suspension of disbelief is required, but this book requires more suspension than I can manage to dredge up.

Naero's Run, was an excellent read. Kept me interested throughout, finished over two days. Only drawback was I did not want to put it down. Ms Elliott writes in the tradition of Andre Norton, with excellent character development but with a little more military tech. thrown in.

Good Space Opera that keeps the pages burning and turning. A little more character development than battle descriptions for my taste but there is a twist to character development. For Sci Fi fans a good read
Against All Odds (A Galaxy Unknown Book 7) :: Lily of the Nile (Novel of Cleopatra's Daughter Book 1) :: Lily and the Duke (Sex and the Season: One) :: Father of the Rain: A Novel :: Trader Vyx (A Galaxy Unknown Book 4)

Would have given 5 stars but feel that there were far too many typos and wrong/or omitted words. Love the story, love the style.
Fast moving but could use more hard science and military detail ala David Weber. Overall, enjoyed the read enough to want more from this author.

Black suit . Check . Big guns : Check . God mode : double check . Not a bad book to read . Just difficult to believe in the character and how ...over the top powerful she is.

Really danner and tanner ?

Naero starts out as a young lady with high aspirations to become a captain of her own ship, someday. But as with any good S F story there are twists of faith that not even the reader would have thought of.

Elliot creates a high tech universe without patronizing his readers. Great to see an underlying theme promoting rugged individualism and the benefits of Freedom.
Characters are well crafted and you quickly become invested in them.
I missed some sleep reading this one... Couldn't wait to see what would happen.

The book starts slowly but then it starts picking up speed. The people in the story start with very little character but grow into their positions as the story becomes more intense I found myself rereading some parts because some twist I didn't get right away. I would tell anyone to read this book.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was intrigued by the storyline and the plot. In my opinion, the ending was a little rushed, almost as if the author was under a deadline of some sort. I have seen this often in the first book of a series, but I have a strong feeling that the rest in the series will continue to get even better. Can't wait to get the other volumes, although my body might complain from lack of sleep syndrome.

Spacers as traders and fighters is my favorite genre of sci-fi, this is one of the best i have read in a long time. The story kept me intrigued thru every new adventure the heroine encountered. The scenes are rich with details, I could easily picture living in space and having the adventure alongside these spacers.

I am a fan of space operas, especially with strong female lead characters. This novel did not disappoint. Thoughtful plotting coupled with excellent action made this an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.

I had fun reading this. It was interesting enough to make me think about the story line often while I was unable to continue reading, like while working. That is something that's not happened for a few books.

Wow! Just, wow! Super plot twist I never saw coming. Great character development and world building. A little long winded in a couple of places but in no way a deal breaker. Ready for the next one.

I liked it. Easy reading, intriguing sci-fi ideas. But. The interesting things happened all the time somewhere else. And the motivation of the people did not make sense at all. Still mostly recommended reading.
