Now & Forever is the second book in Mary Connealy's Wild at Heart series. It brings Shannon Wilde and Matthew Tucker together when Shannon sees "Tucker" getting attacked by a grizzly bear and attempts to rescue him by throwing him and herself over a cliff into the Slaughter River. This river is one that no one has ever made it out alive, but Shannon and Tucker do, which is the beginning of a new relationship between the two of them. There are some strange things that start to happen on Shannon's homestead as they get to know each other, and Shannon is lucky to have Tucker by her side to get to find out who is behind those things and to protect her as well as her homestead.

I enjoyed the relationship between Shannon and Tucker. They get married with not really knowing each other well, and as you get further into the book it is clear that they have truly fallen for each other. I'm always leery when I choose to review a book that is the second in a series. I found parts of this book to be confusing because I had not read the 1st book in this Wild at Heart series. With that said, I did enjoy this book.

NOW &FOREVER
Wild at Heart - Book two.
By Mary Connealy
A heartwarming story from the early west. A romantic novel set in the Dakota Territory about a mountain man (Tucker) and a young woman (Shannon) who saves him from a grizzly and their fight to survive a fall from a cliff into a river, which is known for no one surviving the rough water. You are along on their wild adventure in surviving and their rescue. After their rescue, they get married and settle down on a homestead property, which she owns. They get to know each other better and start their healing from the river adventure. Their adventure together continues as a man is trying to burn them out of the homestead property. There are others to share in their life; her sisters also have homesteads and a Native American woman that raised the mountain man.
The story has romance, humor, mystery, adventure and God all rolled up in a great fictional novel. The book is a part of a series by the author. The details of the clothing, mountains and cabin they live in are great. The writing keeps you wanting to read more and is hard to put the book down.
I found the book very interesting and full of surprises that will keep you interested to the very end. I would really like to see it made into a movie; it has a great story line.
I received this book free from Bethany House for purpose of this review, I was not required to write a positive review, the opinions I have expressed are my own.

After reading the first book in the Wild at Heart series by Mary Connealy I knew that I wanted to read the second one especially since I felt like Shannon would be my favorite Wilde sister. The book starts out so quickly that it was easy to get swept into the book. It felt like just a few moments had gone by and I was already through 100 pages. As with the first book in the series, the story is centered around one of the Wilde sisters and there's usually some sort of trouble that they get themselves into. I was a bit shocked when this book started with Shannon and Matthew Tucker getting married after their harrowing experience of surviving a bear, the river that's notorious for killing people, and an arduous hike through caves with Matthew on a broken leg before being rescued. For this to have the feel of a romance there's a lot of suspense and action as well. In many ways the romance almost takes a backseat when you're reading it because you find yourself so wrapped up in trying to figure out who is trying to drive homesteaders off their land.

Now I just have to wait patiently for the third book so I can read Bailey's story!

I received this book free of charge from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

Mary Connealy at her best! Christian Cowboy Comedies is what she does and she does it very well. This one had a very suspenseful mystery included that keeps the reader guessing.

Shannon is the middle Wilde sister, the ones who fought in the Civil War dressed as men. Tucker is a wild mountain man, tracking and hunting for a living. They meet up on the way over a cliff after going over is the only option. That or being eaten by a grizzly bear.

No more clues to the rest of the story here. This is a terrific story, filled with Mary Connealy's usual dry sense of humor. I love the woman's work!

Interspersed with all the action and humor, we see a wonderful spiritual message that God is in control and cares about everything that concerns us. And He can heal all our wounds, even the ones we let no one see.

I can't wait for book three in this series and find out what Bailey Wilde gets herself into!

Matthew Tucker noticed Shannon Wilde while helping the family with some home renovations. He doesn't believe the Wilde family that he's noticing a guy. This is confirmed when Shannon saves him from an angry grizzly by jumping with him into a raging river. They spend a harrowing experience trying to survive on a river that no one is known to have survived. Once they are rescued their troubles only multiply. Now they are teaming together to stop a crazy man from killing.

I enjoyed this story. I think I even liked it better than book 1. While the two stories definitely go together, they can also be read as a stand-alone. There were two almost separate parts to the story. They were both enjoyable for me, but my mind had a slight problem transitioning between them. Otherwise the story was smooth and flowed well. The story has romantic elements, suspense, drama, and faith filled moments. It's a fun, quick read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to read this one. The story of these sisters grabbed me.

I love the setting of this book. The action-packed beginning is sure to have you biting your nails. I liked Shannon’s heart, her spunk and her love for her animals.

But overall I was a bit disappoint with this one. I just couldn’t really connect with the story. I felt like the first scene dragged on a little too long. Then we went from Matt Tucker thinking he would never marry anyone to pretty much convincing Shannon to marry him. It all happened a bit fast.

However, if you don’t like kissing scene described too intently you will like that part. It is quick and sweet.

It was nice to meet up with the characters from the first book and see how Kylie and Aaron were doing. And I will probably read the third book and see how that one is when it comes out.

As always, this is my opinion only and if this sounds like a book you want to pick up then give a try.

Now and Forever is a very endearing story. Set in the late 1800's Mid- West, Connealy writes a story that draws readers in with a fast paced beginning.

Shannon Wilde is a fine lady-- dressed as a man. Matthew Tucker is a kind, isolated young man. One day on one of his jaunts in the mountains, a bear attacks him. Just his luck, Shannon runs over to help him. Only problem is the only way to get off the cliff is to dive into the nastiest waters this side of the Mississippi. By a miracle they survive, and shortly afterwards are rescued.

However, due to the customs of the day, they are more or less forced to marry because of all the time they spent together.

As the days then weeks then months go by, the begin to appreciate each others company, and eventually the fall in love.

This wonderful season of their lives is tarnished on account of somebody trying to drive Shannon off her land! But Shannon and Tucker trust God, even when hard things hit.

This book was very good. A sweet tale filled with romance and humor. A perfect summer read!

Wow. Now and Forever by Mary Connealy started quickly and didn't stop! It began with two people stuck together in life-threatening circumstances. They work to figure their way out while falling for each other. But that's not the whole book. I was worried when that story line ended that the interesting part of the book was over. (What? I still have over half of the book yet? WHY???) Instead, the romantic tension managed to continue full-speed ahead, and the end of the book involved a dangerous mystery that reminded me of the fear I felt when I first watched "Wait Until Dark." So basically, this book is adventure, romance, mystery, danger, and suspense from start to finish! Which isn't something one can say about most novels.

FYI, this book has more romance than Mary Connealy's "Stuck Together." Much of the romantic tension centers centers around a wife wanting to wait to consummate the marriage until she knows her husband better.

I received this book free from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review.

I've read two books by this author and so far I have no complaints!

Now and Forever is the latest book from Mary Connealy in her Wild at Heart series. This book tells the story of the second Wilde sister, Shannon, who is trying to make it on her own in the wild west!

You meet up with Shannon at the beginning of this book, after she has thrown herself and Matthew Tucker off a cliff to escape a grizzly bear. They end up heading down the Slaughter river, which is as dangerous as the name implies. They survive this ordeal, only to find themselves forced to marry!

Newly-wed Shannon and Tucker finally return to Shannon's homestead, only to discover that someone is trying to drive the settlers off their land by burning them out. This man picks the wrong person when he begins to focus on Shannon's land!

This tale is filled with a bit of mystery and tons of action as you try to discover who this evil man is who is behind all this destruction! This book leaves you looking forward and excited to read the final book in this series!

Yay! It's here! After reading the teaser for this book at the end of Tried and True, I've been (im)patiently waiting for the full book. I think I devoured Now and Forever in nearly one sitting. It starts off with one of Mary's biggest bangs ever (and that's saying a lot!) and just keeps you flying through with baited breath all the way through. It's hard to imagine that Mary's books could get better, she's been pretty awesome all along, but I think each new book tops the last.

Shannon Wilde may be my favorite sister. I love her attachment to her sheep and gentle but tough as nails approach. She and Tucker are such a perfect fit, that the romance is there from page one. What makes this even more fun, is that as a reader I got to enjoy them being in love. Oh, and, Tucker? Wow. He's pretty lovable. There is great tension and humor between all the characters, and the suspense/mystery of hunting their attacker is both spine tingling and romantic. As always, Mary had me laughing out loud throughout the book. And I have to give her kudos for her spot on descriptions of tracking - very cool.

My thoughts: Mary Connealy is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. This book, Now & Forever, is a fast-paced, fun read.
This is the second in her Wilde at Heart series. I read the first one, Tried & True, and enjoyed it very much. I was excited when this one came out because I got to find out what happened with the second sister, Shannon Wilde.
It starts out with a wild ride, literally. I just couldn't put it down until I found out what happened to Shannon and Tucker.
The story has many elements of romance, intrigue, and humor. My favorite line of the book was: "It was an admirable wife who armed herself before opening the door to a stranger." It literally made me "Laugh out loud". LOL. :)
Seriously, if you like cowboy romance or just good writing you should read this book. I would definitely give it 5 stars. Now I have to wait for the third book to find out what happens to the last sister. I'm confident it will be worth the wait.

Mary Connealy's latest novel starts off at a dead run and doesn't let up until the end. Shannon is a fun, determined, but loving heroine. I love how she and Tucker balance each other out but also stretch each other beyond their comfort zones. Even though Shannon and Tucker are put in a compromising situation at the beginning of the book, I like how they did not take advantage of it and do something they would regret. After they are forced to get married, I like how they do not rush their relationship but take time to get to know each other first. There were a few things I had figured out pretty quickly regarding the plot but I like how the author doesn't make it obvious and makes you think.
This is the second book in the Wild at Heart series. You will need to read the first one to understand this one completely. It piggybacks onto the first and continues the story. This is one of my favorite novels out this year!

"Romantic comedy with cowboys" that's what it says on Ms. Connealy's website and that is what you get with what she writes. It's always a fun read. Now and Forever finds her at the top of her game. I really loved this story. It starts out at rip roaring speed with both hero and heroine in a tremendous pickle of a fix. That claims your interest and it doesn't stop there. Having been trapped together for an indiscriminate amount of time, due to no fault of their own, the couple finds no choice but to marry. From here, Matt Tucker and Shannon Wilde, now Tucker, find themselves in the middle of a mystery with someone burning barns and mutilating animals; and it looks like the women's lives may be in danger. This is a sweet romance with some serious spots mellowed with humor. I give it my highest recommendation as a book that should appeal to everyone except the hard core non-romanticists. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Hold on to your horses, because this book is filled with non-stop adventure! I didn't want to put it down! From the first page to the last, there was never a dull moment. I LOVE this book! Mary Connealy just knows how to write books that are full of adventure!

While this is book two, there is enough information to get you pretty much caught up with everything. So you won't be completely lost. Although I do recommend reading book one (Tried and True), just because it is so good!

Mary Connealy's books always excite me. I never have to worry about them being filled with slang, filth or anything inappropriate. She always rights good, clean, fun, romantic, suspenseful, adventurous, Christ-honoring books!

This book is for you if you enjoy reading books with a western setting, adventures, romance and humor.

Action right from the start and kept me entertained through the whole adventure! I felt the bear breathing down Tucker's neck and then the breathtaking jump over the rock cliff wrapped in the arms of the handsome mountain man.. I enjoyed the interactions between strong women and mountain men. Tucker and Shannon in exciting adventures, filled with suspense, a mystery to solve and their surprise wedding made for a great romance. Someone called Mary Connealy's story "A Christian Cowboy Comedy". That is a fact! through the whole book I found myself smiling, laughing and sometimes holding my breath. I really enjoyed this story and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a book with a little humor, romance and adventure that will keep you guessing and turning the pages to see what they will face next! Shannon Wilde enjoys life on her simple homestead, tending sheep until she gets swept over the side of a cliff by Matthew Tucker. Well, in all actuality she's the one responsible for hurling them down the side of the mountain and into the raging river full of rocks, rapids, and treacherous water.

Matthew Tucker was content with his life in the backwoods until his eyes met the blue gaze of one Shannon Wilde. He wasn't fooled by her dress and immediately knew she was a woman, especially when he find himself strapped to her in order to keep them alive through the rapids.

Mary Connealy weaves a delightful tale in her Wild at Heart series featuring the Wilde sisters. I found this book to live up to Mary' reputation of writing lively historical romances. I rate it a 4 out of 5 for happily-ever-afters.

Now and Forever by Mary Connealy was the amazing second book in her latest series Wild at Heart. I loved this book so much! But that should be no surprise because I love all of Mary's books! I have yet to read one that has left me disappointed! Her books always make me laugh and are a great pick me up. Great characters and great writing make for a great read. Shannon is a character that I think everyone will fall in love with immediately, as well as Tucker. Shannon's a tough heroine that doesn't just stand off to the side and swoon as the men take care of things. No, she gets right in there and helps save the day. Super fun read that you must start as soon as you can!

5 out of 5. An Afternoon Snack that I'm sure you'll love now and forever!

A grizzly bear, sheep, and wolves! Oh my! I can always count on Mary Connealy to humor me with her stories, and she certainly delivered the laughs in Now and Forever. She also delivered drama, danger, and intrigue in this Wilde adventure.

I loved Shannon Wilde and Matt Tucker! Shannon is an independent woman who is determined to maintain her homestead and tend her sheep. Matt is a mountain man content to hunt and trap and live off the land. These two are entertaining characters and the fireworks between them are fun to behold!

Now and Forever is another delightful story in the Wild at Heart series. I love these feisty sisters and can’t wait to read Book 3, Fire and Ice!

Adventure, humor, and romance. The Mary Connealy triple threat delivers again! Shannon is devoted to her sheep, and Tucker becomes quickly devoted to Shannon, sheep and all. It's adorable how fast and hard he falls for her. He is a fascinating character as a mountain man who shuns society yet still treats Shannon with gentleness and respect. Since she never received that from her own father and was believed to be a man while serving as a medical assistant on the front lines of the Civil War, it's no wonder she falls in love with Tucker just as deeply. There are plenty of humorous and heartwrenching moments as they struggle to communicate, disagree and compromise, and fight for the safety of their farm and family. I can't wait to read the story of the third sister Bailey next!

Now & Forever by Mary Connealy

Book 2 of the Wild at Heart series is available. Bethany House sent me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I love the adventure in Mary Connealy's novels! Shannon is the middle sister of the Wilde family. She is raising sheep on her own homestead. After being in the wrong place at the wrong time, she finds herself forced to marry Matthew Tucker to save her reputation. Tucker is a mountain man, preferring to be alone in the wilderness for months at a time. Raised by an Indian woman, he knows how to track animals and people, but is unsure how to treat his new wife. They find themselves teaming up together against a greedy man who wants Shannon's homestead. Connealy provides action and mystery in her novel, and I love how she includes characters from Book 1. Being someone who loves the outdoors and 1860's time period in the west, I enjoyed Shannon's story. Shannon is brave and loyal and learned she can trust God for her future!

As is always the case with a Mary Connealy novel, this was a fun quick read! After getting to know Shannon and Tucker in the first book of this series I knew their story would provide quite a few humorous situations and I am happy to say that I was right! I loved how they took care of each other as they fought for their lives at the beginning and the protectiveness they both had for one another. I also really enjoyed their banter as a rough mountain man learned to live with the gentle sheep loving woman who is much tougher than she looks! And while this book was mainly light-hearted there were also moments of suspense and tender moments as well, all of which were well done! In short I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and recommend this series!

Shannon Wilde met Matt Tucker in the mountains as they struggled to get away from a very angry Mama grizzly bear. In the process they manage to fall off the mountain into a very wild river, soar over a water fall and end up in a dark cave in the canyon wall. When they finally make their way back home they have been together for five days and nights. The local parson insists they get married. Matt is agreeable, but Shannon isn't so sure, although she finally gives in.

Someone is trying to drive them off their land, but although they are in danger Matt and Shannon refuse to run. Will the fight to survive drive them apart, or will they learn the real meaning of love. Mary Connealy has written an entertaining story with great characters and a solid plot. Don't miss this one.

I’m a fan of light hearted romantic comedies when it comes to TV and movies. Mary Connealy gives me that in book form. Now and Forever is book 2 in the Wild at Heart series and it continues exactly where the first book leaves off.

Seeing two opposites find love and healing in each other can be a fun and humorous adventure. This book is a light hearted read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It would make a great beach or poolside read as its not too deep. It’s a perfect mix of romance, adventure and comedy. I definitely recommend this if you want something lighthearted and easy to read.

I love the chemistry between Shannon and Tucker and in the background you can see the makings of the next book in the series, which will be coming out in October.

Now & Forever grabbed me from the first page with the adventurous circumstances and of course Mary’s creative humor, romance, mystery and subtle inspiration are woven throughout the story. This second book in the Wild at Heart series has a lot of the same characters from the first book which is enjoyable to see what is happening with them but we also get to know a few of the characters a lot better from the first book. I see this as bringing not only depth to the story but also insight into the creative personalities that Mary has given us.

As in the first book there is reference to the passionate side of romance yet the reader is able to completely use their imagination. I find this subtle romance refreshing in the inspirational genre.

From the first book I read of Mary Connealy, I was hooked. She’s a gifted storyteller who is able to give her readers many hours of fun, enjoyable entertainment. Now & Forever is no exception to what Mary continues to give us over and over again.

Mary Connely at her best yet!!!!! Action packed from beginning to end! From falling off the cliff into the wild river, to wind up spending 5 days in a cave, to getting married, and a little bit of mystery involved. I loved the part about falling off the cliff because while it was happening I felt like I was rolling down the hill into the river with them and I was holding my breath to see if Shannon and Tucker would find their way out of the dark cave.
I won't say what the rest of the book is about but I guarantee you won't want to put the book down!!! I finished it in one day!!!!! I am looking forward to her next installment.
Maybe we'll get to saddle up for the next generation! !!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Shannon and Tucker's story is fantastic. You have to love a book which starts with angry bears and a jump off a cliff into a murderous river. The story continues from there with humor and suspense. This is a well-written story which kept me reading when I should have been doing other things. I highly recommend it.

Mary Connealy has penned a wild west adventure! The action was non-stop and there was a touch of mystery to keep the reader intrigued. I loved Matt, the rugged mountain man hero. Tough as all get-out, but dedicated to his woman. He treated her with patience and respect yet at the same time didn't let her run roughshod over him. And Shannon, was the type of heroine I adore--feisty, a woman with backbone and the skills to stand on her own. She fought beside her man to defend her home instead of waiting for him to solve her problems for her.

This is the second in the series, but I can attest that it reads well as a stand-alone because I haven't yet read book 1. If you like western romance and enjoy inspirational fiction, I recommend you give Now and Forever a try.

After Shannon Wilde literally follows mountain man Matthew Tucker over a cliff, can they learn to live together--for better or worse?

After going over the cliff, Shannon and Tucker get trapped in a cave after being sweot down river. After being together night and day for several days. Having to deal with bugs, caves, no daylight, very little food, no shelter, other than the cave itself and all of the things that go with this when strangers are stuck together, Shannon and Tucker face things that are deadly, beautiful, and scary, just among some of those things, like bears, a dark cave, and whether they can get out and "fireflies'

After realizing that the firefiles they are seeing are twinkling stars abovem they realize that they have found a way out from being stuck in the cave forever

Open being rescued however, they face a whole new set of traumatizing circumstances What is going to get them safe from the troubles they face, safe from each other and safe with each other.

Check this book out to see how they survive all of the tests and trials that they go through.

My opinions of Now and Forever

For me, the book seemed very unrealistic but that is the entire nature of fiction. So using your imagination and giving the author creative license, this book is filled with a so muchof that creative licensing! While it was a quick fast, fairly clean read, I just found it to be very over the top in whqt the reader was to believe.

Now all that being said, for what it is, the book was good. Now and Forever, by Mary Connealy will let you use your imagination and bring some very thoughtful moments to mind.

Shannon Wilde is the middle sister in the Wilde family and has a strong love for family and animals. She has a homestead and is raising sheep for wool. She is happy and things are going good until she gets thrown off a cliff with Matthew Tucker. He has been hiking, one of his favorite pastimes, keeping him away from civilization. Unfortunately it brings him face to face with an angry grizzly. In his effort to get away, he runs into Shannon and together they wind up in a raging river. It is an unforgivable river that no one has come out of alive. Together they somehow make it out alive and after their adventure they end up married.

It is an adjustment for both as they learn to live with each other and strange things start to occur at Shannon’s homestead. Just like with her sister Kylie, it seems someone is set to drive her from her land. The one thing they didn’t count on was Tucker. It is not easy to scare Tucker, most likely it will just make him mad, especially if you mess with the woman he is falling in love with.

The second book in the Wilde at heart series picks up where the first left off but this time we get a glimpse into the life of middle sister Shannon Wilde and mountain man Matthew Tucker. There is humor, romance and history without being overloaded with historic information or backstory. It is obvious from the beginning that Shannon and Tucker will end up in love and together. I thought the development of their relationship was not as well played out as Aaron and Kylie from the first book. Shannon tried to stay strong but any time Tucker was around she would crumble and rely on him for anything and everything. Even though she fought in the war and had been taking care of herself for a long time, she lets go of all of that and releases everything to the new man in her life. That’s how things went in the old west, I get that, but so much of the story of the Wilde sisters is they are able to take care of themselves and don’t need a man to take care of them. But so far as soon as a man shows himself with interest in them they just forget all they have been capable of and relinquish everything to him. I would have liked to see her hold on to more of herself, especially towards the last few pages.

Even though it felt like things were the same from the first book with the concept of the main character trying to be driven off her, it was done in an entirely different way that kept the story interesting. The writing is quick without much to slow the story or distract from what is going on. I like the fact that the humor is mixed in with the romance, which keeps things moving and light hearted. With one more book expected in the series, I am curious to see how Bailey’s story plays out.
