An unbelievably good book, I started reading it only because Grisham recommended it. But the twists and turns and surprises are real and make for a book difficult to put down. Pick it up and read it immediately!

Lee Child's And John Grisham recommend this new author and they were right very good story, few characters but didn't need any more. Give Karens new book a chance and You won't need to know!!!!!enjoy

Awesome until the end. A page turner, clean element throughout. A masterfully crafted plot. Such desperation, interwoven into the conflicting life of a Mom who is trying desperately to balance her career with motherhood. Secrets and the chaos they cause. Marriage vows and the struggle to trust. I sure hope there is a sequel in the works!
Alien Next Door :: A dark and twisty psychological thriller - The Woman Next Door :: House Next Door :: The gripping domestic page-turner perfect for fans of Big Little Lies :: The most addictive psychological thriller you'll read this year

Need to Know was great from beginning to end. Yes, I had an inkling of what was to come, but I enjoyed it all the same. Anyone who enjoys books with espionage will love it. I hope there’s another book after this because I’m hooked on Viv!

John Grisham was right, you cannot put it down once you start. Finished in one night. One of the best suspense novels I have read in a long time. All I can say is this author needs to do a sequel ASAP. Great writing, story and future for the author.

Expect to see and hear MUCH more from Karen Cleveland! She has set the bar SO HIGH for her subsequent work... I can't wait to see her next novel... The ending of this first work suggests that we haven't seen the last of these very well developed characters. Bring it on!!!

According to Ms. Cleveland's bio, she was an analyst with the CIA. So, I take her at her word that the CIA part of this is accurate. Yet, I found the plot implausible. I won't say any more because I don't want to spoil the plot.

Her writing style needs a tremendous amount of work. I am not a fan of the flashback school of writing in which major portions of the plot are revealed through flashbacks, especially when the flashbacks are not separate chapters but rather simply inserted in the middle of a plot point or thought that is not picked up again until after the flashback. "I was going to shoot him, then I thought about the time I almost shot my dog after a pressure-filled day of work" blah-blah-blah-blah ten pages later, "so I shot him anyway."

Beyond this sentences are poorly constructed. Dialogue is hackneyed. All of this said, I respect anyone for making an attempt and I encourage Ms. Cleveland to write another book if she hasn't already. Best of luck.

I heard about this on a podcast and immediately ordered it. I finished it the day after it arrived. Riveting! My husband then read it and loved it, too! We have recommended to everyone and been passing our copy around. She has to write a sequel!

Just a great readable book... Throughout the book though I was frustrated at how naive she was in her own area of expertise.... At first okay, but she never seemed to wise up... Even so, her next book I'll grab up... She knows how to keep you reading!

Story poses a moral dilemma realisticall. Princiapl characters (husband and wife) are believable in their struggle in balancing their feelings to each other and their "office" commitments. Ending a little predictableand not as interesting as entire story - maybe too convenient or contrived to make palatable.

I really enjoyed this book, because it has so many layers and unexpected twists, while at the same time showing us that agents working for the government are also just normal human beings like the rest of us with the same problems and concerns, but at the same time they have to deal with issues that we cannot imagine.
Makes you wonder - how well do you really know your nearest and dearest?

I had quite high expectations based on the reviews posted on the store.com and a review I read in the press.
I ended up being very disappointed.
Too long, too predictable, not sure the writer knew where she was taking the reader, disappointing ending.
