My family is reading this series aloud before bed every night. The stories are wonderful and the characters are much more rich and complex than those on screen, which is a shame for the latter. That said, I highly recommend this series to anyone with even a passing interest.

Cheers,
Jason

I purchased this set for my 10year old Waldorf grandchild and he loved them! His first self read set! The creative mix of imagination, adventure and humor, simply great for a spirited intillectual child! ?

This is the thrilling finale to a long battle and it delivers, I won't give anything away, but I will say this epic ending will remain imprinted in your thoughts every time you hear anything regarding dragons ;)

This is the third book in a great series. Although you will notice it's not exaclty like the movie, but is very fun. I like to read this to my little neighbor boys. They are simple stories, but have some big words that are fun to talk about. It's hard to find stories appropriate for young kids that we can enjoy reading too. The art in here is crude, but the guys love them.

She loves dragons, and she thought How to Train Your Dragon (the movie) was pretty good, so I got her this. She was skeptical at first, since the drawings were ugly, and the characters were weird, but she ended up really liking it nonetheless.

Over Skype my grandson and I read these books together. The amazing adventures have captivated his heart and ignited his once fearful avoidance of reading. His skill improves with each book and his confidence is soaring!

I bought this for my grandson on the recommendation of a mom who reads to her primary and preschool kids. What a hit! The next book is already on his Christmas list, and his mom posted a quote in "dragonese" on her facebook page. They are looking forward to reading the whole series with its quirky drawings and side notes that add another dimension to the stories themselves.

Fawning not fawing and inconsistencies, like Fishlegs not following Hiccup and Toothless's conversation spoken in Dragonese, then speaking Dragonese to Horrowcow, who apparently speaks fluent Norse and not Dragonese as indicated by the lack of font change. The story is just O.K. and I'll read the next one but these errors make me wish they gave a discount for this book.

I ain't got kiddies to read to, but I really like the movies and the Netflix series, so it is interesting to read the original inspiration. However there are definitely better series out there: the characters are flat compared to the animated versions and Toothless's personality is more of a spoiled child, not the selfless hero in the series. This book does have Romans, so that would be interesting to see in the Netflix series.

This book never has the reader not begging for more. Dragons! That just tops off the story with a little kick. I rated this book with a three out of five because it had an interesting plot, but it was missing the details about things like the sea spray or the colors of the characters hair. But over all it was a good book.

I know that these books are written for an audience younger that myself but they are a wonderful escape from the mundane hum-hum of the world today. Love every one of them and looking forward to the next release.

Please make more. We really liked it. Thank you. My favorite character was Hiccup the useful (5 year old). I liked Gobber the Belch (9 year old). NB: Dad things he might just have liked the name.
