Serge Storms is a crazy, peculiar serial killer of really bad guys. And this is the newest story of his escapades. Set in Sunny Florida and not the state of amusement parks but the Everglades and alligators. This satirical look at cops and killer is quick read that is over the top in some stops and contrived in others. I thought I would like this novel based on the summary and other reviews but it was not one for me.

fair reading. Serge has worn out his welcome with me. His erratic behavior has become too criminal and horrific. He is a one man angel of revenge for Florida's change from a wild environment to a developed continuous suburb. He is too drunk, and too high. His friend serves no plot purpose, and I don't know why he's in the book.

Tim Dorsey's protagonist, Serge Storm, is a brilliant departure from the bulk of serial-killer-potboilers. The novels are morality satire, mixed with tutorials on Florida history, physiology, kinky sex for novices and pros alike, and murder, not only as an exacting craft, but as an elevated art form. These novels will be of especial interest to aspiring sociopaths, and this includes just about everyone who has lived in Florida, or visited Florida with expectations more far-ranging than Disney World or sunset on Duval Street. Tim Dorsey keeps pumping out some of the best "quick-wit" literature I've read. Electric Barracuda will not only keep you laughing, but also keep you in suspense with the twists and turns of Serge's Floridian fugitive tour.
If you like the "tongue in cheek" stylings of Dorsey's other Serge Storms novels this one will not let you down. Not quite an out loud laugh a page (more like every other page) this work will not dissappoint!
Get it!

See book summaries above.
Though it seemed to be a litte repetitive as far as the routine of showing up at one of his 'fugitive' spots, and escaping said spots by narrow margins,
this was one wild ride that I did not want to end. Tim Dorsey still provides me with more 'laugh out loud' parts than any other author I've read from Hiaasen
to Barry. A great escape filled with laughs. Keep it up Dorsey.

i should have known that this would be another ADD-addled, nonsensical frippy piece of mindless prose... seriously, i don't begrudge readers attracted to this type of mind- and time-wasting pulp, but it's not for me... it's like trying to read Hiaasen on crack... my advice: back away from the pipe, slow down, and add a plot... at least this one was better than a previous Dorsey attempt that read like a TV script with no paragraph longer than one sentence in 400 pages...

Gotta love, the lovable serial killer, Serge A. Storms, he only kills people who need killin. Electric Barracuda is great, but better if you start from the beginning of the Dorsey series. You don't want to miss a thing.
