Dorsey is one of the funniest Florida writers I've ever read and considering who else is in that category, Barry, Hiassen, etc., it's a major feat. He's perversely wicked and insightful into the weirdness of the human species.

Hmmmm... This has to be one of the most interesting novels I have ever had the good fortune of reading. After spending three hours glued to the kindle I can recommend this to anyone looking to get a few hours away from thier hum dum life.

In Rip-tide Ultra Glide the reader enjoys another trip crisscrossing the state of Florida with Serge and Coleman avenging rudeness and crime, inadvertently saving lives while trying to promote the not-so-often experienced Florida tourist attractions.

This is true Dorsey!! Serge and Coleman are the best two Characters ever invented!! The historical perspective of Serge with their outlandish escapades make his books incredibly worth every minute spent inside the books.

The usual Tim Dorsey/ Serge Storms insanity. I laughed out loud on a regular basis at what Serge comes up with to teach society to respect one another, sometimes it requires death to the offender. Colemans new celebrity status adds a new twist to their adventures

Tim Dorsey's characters are normally a treat and his tours of Florida informative, however; in 'The Riptide ultra-glide' he somehow dropped the ball on this one. The first of the book went well but by the end, I was skipping paragraphs just to get it over with.

I'm 27 and a creative professional in Orlando, FL. For years, Dorsey has been my go-to author and I have fallen in love with the over-caffeinated rambling rants of Serge Storms. The amount of research and detail that goes into these passages are phenomenal and if you're current on your pop-culture, Serge has a nugget or two towards the end that you'll appreciate.

I will say this, though: a few books back, there seemed to be a more detailed setup of the Master Plan, which was kind of exciting. It seems to be mentioned here and there, but for the most part, these books play out like one-and-done episodes of a no-holds barred, mad-cap TV show that any respectable network would would balk at airing. Which is why it's high-time we get a Netflix Original Series based on Serge Storms. And then let's have a mind-bending cross-over episode where Serge and Dexter cross paths.

Riptide Ultra-Glide Death Count: better than previous books.
Points for Creativity: 1000 points for the MRE meal stunts (but the insta-grow foam toys from a past story is still my fave).
Twist Ending: Dorsey had me hooked the whole way through, and if this HAD been a TV episode, the ending would have never worked. That's kind of a good thing, playing to your format.

Um, I think? Maybe I should have chugged some coffee before writing this.

Once again Dorsey sends America's favorite serial killer and his newly infamous substance abusing friend into the craziness also known as Florida. This was a great read and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for quick, entertaining read.

Actually, my husband loved it - he is a Tim Dorsey fan. My husband lived in Florida for a short time, and gleefully corroborated Dorsey's views of the people and places as representing the one of a kind characters and locations that make Florida a unique place...

In Tim Dorsey's latest offering, the Riptide Ultra-Glide, everyone's favorite Florida-phile is keeping up with his Master plan by cashing in on the "reality" television craze. Join Serge and Coleman as they hang around South Florida dispensing their brand of justice and finally learn Coleman's secret of life!
Enjoy!
