What happens when our words have unintended impact on social media? The Saturday Night Supper Club offers a contemporary plotline about how social media can impact relationships and jobs. The book is one part foodie fiction, one part social media impact, and one part romance. I learned a surprising amount about the food industry (I didn't realize the Beard award was a real award until this book), and it left me wanting more. I wanted to eat at Rachel's restaurant and taste the dishes that sounded delicious. I've never worked in a restaurant, so I found the restaurant and cooking descriptions fascinating. Of course, the social media plotline is relevant for anyone online. Within the first few pages, I knew The Saturday Night Supper Club would be a good read. I have read some of Ms. Laureano's previous books, and I have been looking forward to this release for a long time.

The Saturday night Supper Club is a fascinating novel showing the snowball effect of peoples words and actions when social media gets involved. What I found most interesting about the novel is that the editorial that ultimately ended Rachel's career had nothing really to do with her as a chief or otherwise. Nither Alex or Rachel could imagine what his simple editorial could do to both of their careers and how quickly things can spin out of our control. I loved how Laureano addresses issues we have in our fast passed, social media frenzied society in an entertaining and thought provoking way. Definitely a book worth reading!

The Saturday Night Supper Club Is a great book about food - nah - it has the aspect of food but it is a book of regrowth it gets you to care along with the characters a lot of feelings and the author has you visualizing everything intricately. You find yourself so enthralled and involved in the characters lives and you are having so much fun - I mean who doesn't love food? Who doesn't love GOD - well there are some who don't but I'm sure you're not one of them;) I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all of the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.

A delicious, intelligent romance with chemistry and culinary love galore! Author Carla Laureano whips up a story that includes relevant issues (social media firestorms), snappy dialogue, genuine, realistic friendships between women, vibrant setting, and a tentative friendship-turned-romance between main characters Rachel and Alex.
Denver comes to life through chef Rachel's eyes, while Alex, a writer, is swoon-worthy and memorable.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the Supper Club series. A must-read for fans of inspirational contemporary romance.

Sometimes you just need some good food and a Hallmark movie. And that is what “The Saturday Night Supper Club” by Carla Laureano feels like.
Laureano artfully weaves the story of Rachel, an acclaimed chef living in Denver. Almost immediately, her life collides with that of freelance writer Alex. When he offers her an opportunity to overcome a social media disaster and rebuild her career, Rachel realizes she is putting her faith in a man she barely knows. She is scared of opening up and trusting other people, but suddenly, she has no choice but to trust Alex.
This story is chick lit at its best. You can pick it up and be guaranteed a sweet romance and lovely characters you will want to root for. You can also expect to be starving. Because Laureano writes as if she has been working in high-end kitchens all her life. Or maybe she’s just been watching a whole lot of Food Network. The point is, this story feels really accurate. From bacon, cheese, and chive scones to pistachio financiers with orange blossom ice cream, your mouth will be watering. “The Saturday Night Supper Club” is definitely a foodie’s dream.
As satisfying as the food is, the love story is even better. Following along with Rachel and Alex as they struggle to balance their work lives and emotional baggage with the challenges of a budding relationship is a treat to read. They are both very likeable characters, as are the additional side characters you will meet along the way.
If you are looking to settle in for a Sunday afternoon of easy reading, or if you just need a break from heavier fare, “The Saturday Night Supper Club” might just be the right fit for you. It was for me. Now, about that scone...

The Saturday Night Supper Club was a fun read that held my attention from start to finish. I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes characterizations of life as a chef as well as a peek into what it might be like to live in Denver, but my favorite part of the book was the characters themselves--they seemed like well-thought-out people I'd actually hang out with in real life. I also LOVE the idea of a supper club and what it says about gathering together with others (favorite line, written about one of the main characters and why he entertains: "Prosperity demand[s] more hospitality, not less.") This was my first novel by Carla Laureano, and it didn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the Supper Club series.

The Saturday Night Supper Club is a lovely rom-com that made me laugh-out-loud and my heart ache just a little. The food/cooking descriptions are excellent and mouth-watering. You’ll either put the book down hungry or want to start your own supper club! Ms. Laureano deftly crafts an inspirational message within the story and also makes a timely commentary on social media run amuck. Alex is definitely BBF material and I’m looking forward to reading more about this group of friends. Five star read.

The Saturday Night Supper Club centers around Beard Award chef, Rachel Bishop, and her 'supposed' fall from grace as a famous chef in Denver. Because of an article written which inadvertently causes her to lose her restaurant, Rachel has to reinvent her career.
While the idea of the story is appealing, and with children of my own in the restaurant business, I'm familiar with the harshness of that lifestyle. Those of us who eat out have no idea! I was glad I could draw from things my kids have shared, because many of the terms and foods the author mentions would be lost to me otherwise.
The story was mild and also very well-written. No surprises, which in this day, is sometimes refreshing. No angst. But at the same time, I wasn't wowed. I wanted the ending to be a surprise. I hear there will be more in the series, and for fans of gentle Christian romances, it will be anxiously awaited.
(I received this book free to review from Tyndale.)

Chef Rachel loses her restaurant when she gets some bad publicity. She meets Alex, the writer who wrote an article about her, and he helps her cooking career get a fresh start. I thought this book was very good, and liked the food descriptions and storyline. Looking forward to the next book, which is previewed in this book.

Carla creates likeable, memorable characters and puts them in a kitchen filled with inspired culinary creations ... yummy people and yummy food. Of course they aren't always in the kitchen. This book is full of clever dialogue, emotions that ring true, and romantic tension worth the time it takes to finish the story. You'll stay up past your bedtime with this one.

This book was worth waiting for.
I loved reading Rachel and Alex's story. (Cue all the sighs and hearts). The fact that it's a foodie story is just icing on top (but be forewarned, you'll probably want to do some serious cooking when finishing this book — don't say I didn't warn you).

Loved the detail and real characters in this book! And the angst of a strong career woman discovering love and wondering where time for a relationship fits, and how to be vulnerable enough to trust man and God. I'm ready for the next one!

Absolutely wonderful! This was the first book that I picked up by Laura and I am hooked. I picked it up from the library (after waiting *not so patiently* for it to come for two weeks) and finished it in three days. I wasn't able to put it down! I didn't want it to end! I loving the characters, the setting, and of course the food! I also really love that is had faith undertones, but its not at all preachy. I'm so devastated that I'm going to have to wait until next spring to read the next installment haha! :)
Carla's got a reader in me for life.

Mrs. Laureano's, The Saturday Night Supper Club does an excellent job of drawing its reader in. Living in Coloardo, I can envision the landscapes, scenery and ambience as I am reading this book. The food is so well described that you can almost taste it. She does an excellent job of character development and each character is very relatable. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author. She is a very descriptive author, that pours herself into her work and it truly shows.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Carla Laureano never ceases to impress and this book was amazing! The character development was there and so was the plot. It was a nice, clean, sweet romance compared to all of the other trashy romances out there today. I loved Alex and Rachel wormed their way into my heart and I can't wait to reread this book until the second one comes out!

Another wonderful book by Carla. Anyone who loves foodie books will love this novel. Rachel is a chef in Denver; starts up a Saturday night supper club after experiencing difficulties. It's a delicious read that you won't want to put down.

Although I found it difficult to get 'into' the story at the beginning, once in there I couldn't put it down. Throughout, Rachel is learning more and more about herself and what she finally feels is her goal. The book covers many aspects including food, romance, disappointments, friendship, and most of all the realisation that God had a plan for her life - she just had to figure it out.

Carla Laureano has gift of detail when it comes to each one of her characters; their hopes, their dreams, their struggles and their fears.
A delectable read that had me smiling throughout, hungry AND hopeful about love. What's not to love about that?

Everyone has that favorite food or dish (and coffee counts) that makes their heart smile whenever they think of it. That's what it's like when you read The Saturday Night Supper Club by Carla Laureano.
Don't believe me? Read it. I dare you. ;-)
This adorable foodie novel made me hungry the entire time I read it, and I still don't know if that's a pro or a con. ;-) The descriptions of the food are scrumptious and delectable, but you don't have to be into cooking to enjoy it - thank goodness! Haha! Sometimes foodie novels can feel a tad pretentious (but I may be inferring that thanks to my own inferior cooking skills), however, The Saturday Night Supper Club felt like one of those novels where you are catching up with a close friend. Carla Laureano did a marvelous job describing the Denver food scene, including using real restaurants to inspire the ones in the story!
I loved Alex and Rachel! Alex is a hunky writer (nonfiction, but I won't hold that against him). *swoon* His passion for serving God in such a pure way challenges you, and I loved his Russian heritage. My family has a special connection with Russia, so I loved gleaning those cultural titbits! Rachel is a talented, driven woman with a painful past and a timid love for God. You just want to hug her and be her friend.
And I got to say that I loved the angle social media played in this story. For me, it was refreshing to see how social media can be used for not only good, but also how people use it to harshly judge and do battle over skewed comments, something that's important to keep in mind. But ultimately, this is a story about savoring the joys God has given you, including your own uniqueness.
Five Stars ~ This fun and flirty foodie novel makes the perfect weekend read!! The Saturday Night Supper Club is the first book in Carla Laureano's delicious new Supper Club Series. I can't wait to devour the next book, Brunch at Bittersweet Café, available the spring of 2019! *drools with anticipation*

Bright, thoughtful, tasty, impeccably written, and oh-so-refreshingly relevant! Here is a memorable story filled with compelling characters, Denver described like a true native, and an honest and believable Christian message all combined in a pleasurable and highly engaging read! Only a passionate culinary expert could write these descriptions and menus with such authority and precise detail – extraordinary!
I thoroughly enjoyed The Saturday Night Supper Club from beginning to end! Carla Laureano has created a multi-layered and masterful work of contemporary fiction that celebrates the connections and memories made through shared mealtimes.
I look forward to more, much more, from this talented and award-winning author!

Goodness besides loving the cover I just loved the story that was inside. It was pure joy reading this book as it was just so so good. This was one that I just couldn't set down on the nightstand as every time that I did I thought, no just 5 more pages. Next thing I knew I was done. Carla hit the ball out of the park for a grand slam with this book!

This was a wonderful book about a chef, food, relationships, and how the past and how it influences the future. The characters were great and I enjoyed the interactions between them as well as their personalities. It was interesting to learn the backgrounds of the characters over the course of the book and see how it influenced what they had become later in life. The food described in the book definitely made me hungry, but you don't need to be a foodie or someone that enjoys cooking to enjoy the book. This was a new author for me and I can't wait to read the next book in this series and her other books.
