I loved this book! It exceeded my expectations! I am so glad I found it. I had never read anything written by this author before, but I liked the sample so I gave the book a try. I am so glad I did. I will be reading more books written by this author.

Avery running from her past trying to lay low runs right into Jase the man whore who wants something different.
This is a good book and definitely rings true to how things can get out of hand fast and cause problems in your future for something that seemed innocent at the time.

The story have mush potential, but its to rushed. I miss the depth in the characters in this book. I loved the last Kendall Ryan book I read so I hope the next one is better. Books that take up problems in our time is important and Kendall Ryan's books have it.

This book was not like Kendall Ryans other books. I thought it was lacking some sexual heat. That said, it was still a good read, with a good message. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape for a few hours. HEA!!

This story has everything you would want in a romance novel; sex, a hot bad-boy that turns good and a sexy naive girl that learns about herself. highly recommended to all that enjoy a good love story.

Thought the secondary characters were very under developed, wish I could of gotten to know them more. I don't typically do romance but I couldn't put this book down. I read it giggling like a silly school girl.

Avery I knew I was gonna love her, especially when the first sentence of the book is, "thirty minutes into my first college party, and I'm ready to smack someone in the face with a shovel." Avery she speaks what she thinks at times and I like it, "for being cool with my...crap." She twists her hands in her lap. "I guess I expected you to be different. The Jase Owens I've heard about is a major player and always..." Oh Jase good lord man you kill me, "that way I'm not the perv staring at her ti*s. Which are exceptionally nice, I quickly note." He's also protective, "you'll let me know if there's someone's ass I should kick, though, right?" Good lord he's cocky, but I love him, "hey, it's okay. If you need tutoring in the bedroom too, babe, just ask."

Can someone find me a Jase, please? Or bottle this man up and send him to me!?!? Okay, let me start over. First of all, someone needs to track Brent down. That boy needs beat! You just don't do that to a girl. And I'm sorry but an apology via email IS NOT ENOUGH. okay, moving on..I have to say, Madison and Noah are hilarious. I love them, matter of fact, I loved all the characters. And the class in college that AVery and Jase end up in together, is PERFECT. I do have to say though, her little revelation.. the one about .. never.. yeah.. WHAT! EXCUSE ME. WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY??? OH.MY.GOD. It's a TRAVESTY! Anyway, back to what I was saying. I do love these characters. BUT, I was a little disappointed in both of them. One. Avery, come one. You need to come clean. But two, Jase.. really? Not the reaction I expected, or wanted. Then.. Stacia.. REALLY?!!? I wanted to slap him. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And then when you pull the same crap you were mad about.. GAH! Again, I just wanted to slap you too! I thought this was super cute. I hate Avery's insecurities, but I totally get where they are coming from. Hell, I would be even more messed up. Though there was a huge part of me that wanted to track down the girl who let Jase in on Avery's past. Come on, you are in college, stop with that crap. I just wanted to shake her and say "how would you feel if that was you!" UGH!. I promise, I didn't spend this whole book upset. Like I said it was really cute .

3.5 stars overall (Audible Version)
Jase the party boy with a reputation, but a really sweet side (for the most part) he loves his Mom which is always a good sign! and a bitch of an ex.
Avery, the sweet girl with a deep secret, she is the opposite of Jase and I was looking forward to where this was going.
Loved the characters, it is a quick read, although I listened on Audible, so a quick listen.... it doesn't go into depth into any of the back stories too much which was a shame as I am a greedy book whore like that and thrive on all the nitty gritty, I wanted a bit more from each pot...but enjoyed it all the same, this is why it isn't higher for me. And I did have issues understanding the narrator, I am from the UK so may be an issue there.
I adored Jase, he was sweet to Avery up until a point and then I nearly teared up and wanted to kick him in the nuts! But there we are ;-), I won't say anymore and spoil!!
Enjoyed this, my first from Kendall and looking forward to more from her.

I gave The Impact Of You five fantastic leaves! Okay, so the only other Kendall Ryan book I've read is Resisting Her, which I thought was pretty good. But, wow, I completely adore Impact Of You. I started it on Sunday, expecting a light, quick, average read; I was so wrong. This book sucked me in, and I loved every second of it. I'm obsessed with the New Adult genre, and if this is Kendall Ryan's first try at it, I say venture on in! It captured all the qualities that I think make a freaking awesome book: the strong heroine, the hot bad boy, the undeniable attraction, the forbidden love, a college setting, dark secrets, hot scenes, emotional issues, simple plot, and of course, Kendall Ryan's personal flair.
Avery is one of those pretty-but-doesn't-know-it girls and Jase is our typical sexy man-whore. Only Avery is hiding from her past, and trying to blend in. Jase was a frat guy notorious for his looks and sleeping around, but after his mom's suicide attempt, he has learned to appreciate life and is now looking for something to make him smile again. Even from the very beginning of the story, we can see the undeniable attraction between Avery and Jase. They are two people who have been burned by life, and not sure how to live again. That is the basis of their connection. Jase takes it upon himself to teach Avery to be open and to trust again. Avery insists they stay friends, despite her body's obvious yearning for him. Jase agrees, even though he definitely wants more. He issues her challenges that range everywhere from flirting with a guy at a frat party to looking up her birth mom.
I truly liked Avery. She had been through a lot, and although I didn't agree with her decision to hide from the world to try to escape her past, it was definitely understandable. She starts off as stiff, shy, and scared; however, by the end of the book, she completely amazes me. She showcases her smart, witty, and beautiful personality. She is confident and can go after what she wants, all it took was a little coaxing from Jase. Jase *le sigh* is one of my favorite book-boyfriends. He has the looks, the confidence, the mouth, and even the brains. He befriends Avery not just to sleep with her, which is completely unheard of with his old reputation. The scenes where he showcases his mama's boy side melt my heart, the scenes where lusts after Avery make me swoon, the scenes where he takes care of Avery make me want to cry, and the way he almost unknowingly fell in love with Avery sealed the deal. I love how their instant chemistry created a beautiful best friendship first, even though a relationship was obviously in their future.
Kendall Ryan does a great job of bring attention adoption and cyber-bullying in her book. This book wasn't crazy intense or emotional. It was just right. It is impossible to put down due to its perfect combination of sweet, heart-wrenching, adorable, and sexy. It caught me off guard, and I highly recommend this as your next summer read.

I had been looking forward to reading The Impact of You. I always enjoy reading Kendall Ryan's work. She creates likable characters and stories that touch my heart. Now, I did have a few issues with Jase, but I did enjoy Avery and Jase's story.
This is Jase and Avery's story, but I really felt like it was more about Avery. She's trying to run from her past. In high school, she made some choices that weren't all that great. She trusted someone she shouldn't have trusted and that trust was abused. Now, Avery is trying to live very carefully. She's become very cautious in the choices she makes and the people she chooses to be around. Two of those people are Noah and Madison. These two are her best friends. They looked out for her and didn't want to see her get hurt. Avery's avoided getting involved with anyone, but when she meets Jase, she just can't seem to stay away.
Ok. Jase. I really liked Jase in the beginning. He was also dealing with some drama. His family life was complicated and as a result, he learned that his past playboy ways, were not as important as they used to be. So, this reformed player sees Avery and decides he wants more with this unique girl. I was good with the progression of their relationship. There were definitely some steamy parts between them and I appreciated that Jase was helping Avery become more confident in herself again. But the turning point for me with Jase was how he handled learning about her past. Now, I get it. I would be hurt if I was getting involved with someone and they didn't trust me enough to tell me about their past. However, I'm not sure that Jase's opinion would have been different had she told him. Maybe I'm wrong, and we'll never know. It irked me that he kept saying he didn't 'know' her, just because she didn't tell him about this event. Needless to say, I was disappointed with Jase's reaction. My feelings about him did make a slight turn around towards the end. He was there to support Avery through a big life changing moment and he was able to realize that his feelings for her were more important than what happened in the past.
Overall, I enjoyed the book as a whole. I was happy to see Avery learn to trust, fall in love, and be comfortable with herself. Let's face it, we've all made choices in the past that were less than stellar, but it's what you learn from those mistakes that makes you grow. I definitely felt like Avery grew from her high school experience, as well as her relationship with Jase.
Quotes:
~"Fine, I'll do it."
"Do what?"
He smirks. "I see no other choice than to become your tutor."
This time I'm the one laughing. "You want to be my human sexuality tutor? That's original. And not douchey at all."-Loc 586
~His expression grows dark, more serious as he leans in closer. "Baby, if you let me, I wouldn't come up for a week."
Holy. Crap.-Loc 1543

My thoughts...
This is the first one by author Kendall Ryan that I've read. For the most part I really liked it. There were a few issues I had with it though.
I liked Avery. Although I found her to be a bit naive. She was sort of complex. She's got a big secret and it takes a while to find out just exactly what it is. When all is revealed I sort of think Jase made a crap decision where she was concerned. I think it was a bit drastic.
Speaking of Jase. I liked him. He's portrayed as a player. Always hooking up with girls, but that's not really the impression I got of him from the beginning. He takes a liking to Avery right away. She's different than any girl he's ever been with. He wants to become her friend and get to know her. Which considering his rep is something he doesn't usually do.
He challenges her to try new things. Spread her wings if you will. I think some of the challenges Jase had for Avery were a bit odd though. Like for instance when he would suggest she talk to other guys. I sort of shook my head when that happened. Especially since he was attracted to her. It wasn't anything major. I just thought it a bit odd.
The sexual content is comparable to adult mainstream. It's not overly explicit in nature and there isn't a ton of it. That's not to say the tension between Avery and Jase isn't thick throughout the story. When they finally did come together I thought to myself FINALLY!
Overall, I enjoyed this one. I'm looking forward to checking out more titles by this author.

The Impact of You - Kendall Ryan
4.5 Stars
Avery is at college and trying to cope with the demons from her past relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Jase, a self-proclaimed manwhore meets Avery at a frat party and is immediately attracted to her. He soon realizes that she is nothing like the girls he is used to. Avery knows of his reputation and therefore finds herself guarded at first and establishes she just wants to "be friends". There is tons of sexual tension between these two as their relationship grows. Avery opens up little by little and starts to trust Jase and come out of her shell, realizing he may not be the person she has heard stories about. This fact hits home to Avery since she does not want people to judge her for her past as well. I won't spoil what her secret is but it's a doozy!! Also part of this love story is the fact that Avery is adopted, has 2 Daddy's and is struggling with the decision to contact her birth mother. I enjoyed watching Avery become the person she wants to become while accepting her past and venturing into her future while falling in love at the same time. I didn't want their story to end and wished the book was a little longer!

I loved the life lessons we learned from Avery and got to experience with her in her journey of self-identity. Wanting to feel loved is a common teen issue, but also being adopted in addition to have a traumatic event happen to you can make you really question who you are and who you want to be. I also loved getting an inside look at both Avery and Jase's thoughts and feelings about everything. The sexual tension was crazy, ridiculous!! & I loved it!!! It made the build up and anticipation that much more intense and exciting. You will fall in love with these characters and all that they stand for. Jase has his own skeletons and once again it's learned the hard way that communication is key!! I feel satisfied with this read as I got from it everything I look for: the intense emotions, the history if characters to connect with, and easy flowing story. The emotions were flying off the pages and smacking me around and Kendall does amazing with that in all her books!! Give it a try!

I really liked The Impact of You by Kendall Ryan! It's a sweet story about two college students with some pretty big issues in their pasts. The story of Avery and Jase starts like a classic boy meets girl, girl has past kind of story but it's more than that. Her past is pretty big and not something that many college age girls would have to worry about but at the same time is an issue that is becoming more and more relevant as social media becomes more prevalent in the lives of high school students.
Avery's character was sweet, innocent and shy. I did find a few of the things she did frustrating and would have loved to see her step up and embrace her issues a bit sooner but it played out well. And Jase, well Jase is freaking HOT! Who wouldn't want a Life Coach like him!
I can easily recommend this book to anyone looking for a good romantic read with some sweet, some sexy and a bit of HOT!

This was a sweet sweet story.
Keeping secrets never end well, both Jase and Avery didn't hide how broken they both were. Although Jase did open up to Avery, she should have known as soon as someone from her past showed up, that's it was game over, but Avery kept quiet, eventually having her secret told to Jase by his ex of all people. They both handled it badly, but with Avery off to meet her birth mom, she really didn't dwell to long. I am glad Jase decides to listen to hi us mom, they really had oozes of sexual tension, and I was rooting food them to make it.
I was shocked to say the least; when they were in the hotel, screaming at Avery in my head, but I was really pleased they made up, they did go very well together

I love Kendall Ryan books, they're always packed full of story and sexy hotness!! I was super excited for the release of The Impact of You but I seriously had no idea what I was in for as I very rarely read a synopsis and never read teasers. WOW!!! Seriously amazing read!!! Not as scorching hot as some of Ms. Ryan's other books but much more emotional and sexy hot. I do promise though that the sexual tension in this read will get you heated ;-) My heart was working over time while I was reading The Impact of You!
Avery is trying to move on with her life and escape the ghosts of her past. My heart ached for this beautiful girl who had to live with the repercussions of an error in judgement while she was still so young. I understood Avery and how trusting she once was and I completely understood how the events of her past shaped who she was. Jase is.... WOW! I double-dog-dare you not to fall head over heals for this wonderful incredibly seductive sexy character ;-) Suffering from his own issues in life, something draws him to Avery. I honestly felt that they were two kindred spirits. I loved both of these characters.
Kendall Ryan has tackled some very tough issues in The Impact of You and WOW did she ROCK it... seriously speechless! I have to say that this has probably been one of my favourite Kendall Ryan books. The story was real, the emotions it invoked were raw and I was completely engrossed! For all there is a fair amount of angst I didn't find it to be too over the top. If you are looking for a read to get your heart beating and your pulse racing, I can assure you the sexual tension in The Impact of You is just what you are looking for, it was killing me... fabulous build up and release:-)
The Impact of You is one read you will not want to miss out on. Tackling real life issues tastefully with brilliant writing and amazing characters. You will fall in love with characters and their story.

Another fantastic book by Kendall Ryan! I love every single word this woman writes because she makes her characters relatable, and manages to incorporate everything I love in a good NA romance.
Jase is working through his own demons from his past. From appearances - he's just a good-looking frat boy who sleeps around and lives a care free life. But there is so much MORE to Jase - he was every woman's dream - sweet, protective, hilarious, & hot. He meets Avery and wants nothing more than to get to know her, by offering to be her `life coach'.
But what Jase finds when he starts to spend more time with Avery, is that she's also dealing with her own demons and he'll do anything to help her get past them.
Avery went through something pretty traumatic and wants nothing more than to bury her secret and move forward with her life. She decides moving away and keeping her distance from people is the route to go - but that secret will come back to haunt her and threaten her relationship with Jase.
The beauty of this story is the friendship that builds between Jase and Avery FIRST. This isn't an insta-love. Jase genuinely likes Avery and wants to be her friend. He knows she's guarded and hurt and instead of pushing her to get what he wants (although he's definitely fighting his attraction to her), he sets out to just BE there for her. It is the sweetest, most romantic thing! Yes there is serious hotness between these two (because, let's face it - Kendall Ryan KNOWS how to bring on the HEAT). Their love and friendship is what made this story so incredible. And it's that suspense and build-up of sexual tension that will keep you turning the pages frantically!
I loved every minute of this book. I dropped everything I was reading when I got it and devoured it in 2 days. Kendall Ryan just has that ability to suck me in and fall in love with her characters. And you'll find it impossible not to love Jase!

This is a great story. I loved the characters and the story flowed well. I did notice a few grammar errors but it did not distract me from the story. It was easy to love Jase & Avery. It was hard for me to put it down. It will show you all the emotions I think it takes for a great story: love, lust, pain, hurt and a sexy man to help you break out of your shyness shell. I love Kendall Ryan, all her stories I have read so far, I have loved. Read this one and you will love it, I did.

The Impact of You is such a wonderful and delightful read!!..
It is refreshing to read a story about 2 people that fall for each other and change each other so much;yet they remain themselves..
Avery had made a mistake..She has a past..She let it bring her down, made her wanna stay under the radar..She didn't want anyone to get close to her because she didn't want to lose that person later on..
And then here is Jase..Confident handsome smart but kinda lost..He knew what he didn't want but he didn't know what exactly he did want either..Until he met Avery..
She became his everything and he brought the real Avery out of hiding..
A wonderful story about 2 young people who make mistakes and learn how to let go and just be happy about who they are...

Love, love, loved this book! Read this in less than 24 hours. I found myself grabbing my Kindle to read a few pages here and there every chance I got. Jase and Avery are both phenomenal characters with trouble in their pasts that have shaped who they currently are. But, the beauty is that both want to be different, they don't want their past to define them and when they meet each other gradually they start to become who they want to be with the help of the other person.
I would love to see a sequel to this book to find out where Jase and Avery are a few years down the road. I'll cross my fingers!

I love the first three books that Kendall Ryan has written. The Impact of You is not a book that I would spend $3.99 again on. It reminds me a lot of Wait For You by J.Lynn which was a much better book compared to this one.
Avery is a 19 year old college student who is hiding a secret and wants to get away from her old life. Jase is a former playboy who sees Avery at a party and takes an interest in her. They end up in the same human sexuality class and he offers to be her life coach. The book is a little silly and the characters were not very well developed. To be honest, I didn't really like Jase. He made a lot of mistakes and Avery just forgave him. Avery's secret wasn't life shattering and I honestly expected it to be more major than it was.
I really wasn't feeling this book. It felt very rush and the characters were not ones that I liked. I wouldn't reread the book again and I probably wouldn't recommend it to others
