Yeah, I’m gonna start this review by pointing out that the dude on the cover is HOT and totally what I envision Zach looking like. Besides Zach’s character himself, it’s the best part of the book.

Zach and Poppy meet at a party the weekend before classes start and share an intense chemistry and an unforgettable kiss. They discover the following Monday that Zach is her new Advisor for her master’s program. While Zach makes it clear he wants to pursue a relationship, Poppy is concerned about how it could cause problems.

I fell head over heels for Zach. He was such a super great guy with the best personality that any lady would be lucky to have. And patience ... the man had some serious patience. Poppy, however worked my last nerve. I struggled for a good portion of the book to see how she was deserving of Zach.

Poppy went back and forth and gave me whiplash. While I agreed to an extent with her concerns, I hated that instead of just talking to Zach and explaining her reasons, she chose to play games instead. And she did play games. Instead of sticking to her initial plan of not mixing personal feelings with professional, she constantly threw mixed signals. Zach didn’t deserve that. He was nothing but patient with her and never pushed for more than she was willing to give. Not only did she keep pushing him away, but at one point after she made it clear she wasn’t interested and Zach tried to move on, Poppy got mad when she saw him attempting to do just that. Ugh she made me so mad. It wasn’t until 60% into the book that she even tells Zach about her son. It was another legit reason for her concerns but again, also another reason why she should have been honest with Zach and communicated.

But I stuck with it. I was invested enough in Zach and wanting his happiness that I kept reading. I was rewarded with a great ending that left me with a big smile.

I have been waiting on this release from Kendall Ryan since she announced it! For some reason the blurb caught my attention and it certainly did not disappoint! It was sweet, sexy and had plenty of swoon and heart.

Poppy attends a college party with her new neighbors to try to get her ex off her mind. Unfortunately for her, the ex shows up at the party, so she finds an attractive guy and asks him to pose as her boyfriend for the night. What happens after that is totally unexpected. The sparks fly between the two of them and the kiss the share is explosive.

When Poppy arrives to meet with her graduate school adviser, color her shocked when the man she comes face to face with is the man she kissed at the party a few days earlier. Zach was intrigued by Poppy the minute he met her and the fact she's back in his life is causing a bit of strife as he tries to remain professional. He feels he could have a long-lasting relationship with this woman, but the question is, does she feel that way as well? And, is a secret that Poppy keeps from him going to be a game changer?

I adored Zach from the second he was introduced. He was patient, understanding and absolutely swoonworthy! I also have a soft spot for Poppy because she was strong, driven and definitely had her priorities in line. The playful banter between these two was wonderful and I would highly recommend this book. It's one of my favorite reads so far this year!

I accidentally clicked the buy now button on this one while shopping and thought why not try it. It's a fast read, nothing really dramatic happens. The start is awesome so is the ending, somewhere in the middle was kind of flat but still enjoyable.

Kendall Ryan is the Queen of romance and swoony love stories!!! And this is the reason why I love her books and her writing!!!

I have always been a sucker for a great forbidden romance and Kendall delivered that in spades. She gave us a story between two people who are immediately connected to each other, but later find out that they shouldn’t be together. This story was engaging, sweet, sexy and truly entertaining.

I have to say I think Zach might just be my favorite Kendall Ryan Hero to date!!! He was sweet, swoony, had a way with words both sweet and dirty ;) and didn’t play any games. He went after what he wanted and didn’t give up….no matter how many times Poppy pushed him away. And how couldn’t a person melt when you read about his interaction with Connor. Poppy and Connor are very lucky people!!! I also liked Poppy’s character. She was a strong single mother who loved her son fiercely. I thought she was the perfect match for Zach. I loved the slow burn of their relationship. I thought Kendall wrote their story at the perfect pace. It truly helped the reader connect and feel their connection!!!

This story isn’t overloaded with a lot of drama that we normally see in contemporary romances these days and I found that to be refreshing. I also loved the perfect mix of, swoon, sexy, and humorous times. Kendall’s secondary characters in this story added the perfect comedic relief to the story. I loved Kody, Jodee and Zach’s mom. They had me laughing out loud!!!!

xo, Zach is Kendall’s latest standalone novel and it is told in Dual POV. The flow and pace of this story was perfect and I think this might be Kendall Ryan at her finest!!! I think this is one of my all time favorite books of Kendall’s. This story will sweep you away and let you live in another world for a little while. It’s the perfect escapism. This is definitely one of my favorite books of 2018 so far!!!

If you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s then you must read this delicious story and if you have never read any of Kendall’s books, then don’t wait…Start your wonderful journey with xo,Zach!!!

I found Kendall a few years ago and began devouring her books. This book is not of that quality. At. All. Boring. Predictable. Back and forth back and forth with the h's character tension...grow up already. Make a decision. Zero heat until 74% into the book and only a glimpse. 82% a little heat. She used to be my fave but now she is No longer a one click purchase author. I would have stopped reading but I BOUGHT THIS BOOK; it wasn't on KU. I continued despite being bored to tears just to warn you all away from it. You're welcome.

What a sexy, sweet, and hilarious book! xo, Zach was a fun and flirty romance with a swoony alpha hero, a strong and intelligent heroine, and a colorful cast of secondary characters.

Zach and Poppy had amazing chemistry and I loved the build up between them. They start off under unconventional circumstances and their situation is further complicated by their student/adviser relationship. The forbidden romance between them kept things intriguing and realistic. Even though they aren't teacher and student, a relationship between them would still be taboo and could potentially cause disastrous results for their careers and futures. The back and forth was fun though and added to the will they/won't they push and pull. There is instalust between our hero and heroine, but I liked that a good portion of the book was spent letting a relationship form naturally between them. Yes, Zach is clear with his feelings for Poppy all along, but he also steps back when necessary. I did find him a little over the top at times with the intensity of his attraction to Poppy, but his inner monologue was hilarious and I love how Kendall Ryan writes the male POV. Sweet and professional Zach really surprised me with his dirty mouth, but I guess with a mother like his, it shouldn't be a surprise at all! Between her, Jodee, and Kody, there were plenty of laugh out loud moments! This was a great lighter read and left me smiling ear to ear!

*I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book*

The way Kendall Ryan always seems to infuse the perfect amount of heart, heat, and drama in every story that she tells is why I gobble up each and every book that she releases.

The stories that Ryan tells don’t use needless drama as filler, and she doesn’t add in over-the-top angst to drive her characters and her readers crazy. There’s a reason for all of her hero and heroines’ internal musings and each time she writes in a common trope, she doesn’t follow the same formula as every other story written; she adds in her own twists and veers off the straightforward path just enough to make the plot line her own and spin it just enough to get her characters where she needs them to go when she needs them to go there.

Zach Austin is quite the contradiction in one delicious package; he’s one hell of a dirty talker but he also expresses himself through the poetic form, making him the perfect blend of sweet and sexy. He’s not afraid to go after what he wants but he also understands Poppy’s position on things and does his best to prove just how good they can be together while also going at a pace that won’t scare Poppy away from what seems to Zach to be an inevitability.

A lot of readers will relate to Poppy, not only in her goals and her importance of family but also in the need to prove to her ex that she’s moved on just like him and is so much better off without him. She’s cautious when it comes to her feelings for Zach and she understands the risks of acting on their sizzling chemistry. But she’s also a woman who desires a man, even if it’s a tad inappropriate, so she finds herself walking a delicate line with it comes to acquiring the future she’s always wanted and now just might have someone to share that future with as long as she’s willing to take a risk.

There is a bit of a forbidden aspect to Zach and Poppy’s growing attraction, but it’s not the typical professor/student drama. The complications that arise must be dealt with, which is why their relationship is a slow go for quite some time.

The secondary characters add great comic relief as well as provide insight into who Zach and Poppy are and how they became the individuals they are today. I especially enjoyed Zach’s relationship with his mother and Poppy’s friends helped her to loosen up and not be so focused on school and her future that it doesn’t allow her to LIVE life to its fullest.

XO, Zach is a sweet, slow burn romance that will definitely have readers swooning over the dirty talker hero and connecting with the heroine as someone they would want to hang out with and get to know further because Poppy’s extremely relatable and I could totally see me being friends with her, which is something I don’t say often after finishing a book!

Kendall Ryan kills me every time with swoon worthy, panty melting romances!! xo, Zach is no different, but up the wow factor times 100 with unchecked chemistry that had my toes tingling from start to end. Sweet, fun, and damnnn sexy, Zach will have you eating out of the palm of his hand, demanding all your x's and o's. I will happily turn all mine over!

Each page sizzled with a newfound push and pull, leaving a slow burn in it's wake. Poppy and Zach met by chance at a party, their first meeting was nothing short of DYNAMITE. However, leaving a second meeting up to chance, Poppy could never have guessed what the universe had in store for her. Zach, with his literary prose and sexy AF poetry, is a leading man to die for!!! His direct words and verbal prowess had me panting. If Poppy didn't take him, sign me up buttercup!

With every two steps forward, there was always one step back, taking their relationship from hot and heavy to simmering under the surface. But for me, this book was about the words. The words, not actions, that created the intimacy, the desires, the passion, the need to be together and wanting more from their platonic relationship. Zach and Poppy were EVERYTHING and their words truly said it ALL!!!

Let's not forget a shout out to all the supporting characters who provided comedic relief in every scenario. Where decisions were too heavy to hold, hilarious best friends and eclectic moms where there to lighten the mood and kept my belly laughs rolling through.

I don't think I can say enough how much I truly LOVED THIS BOOK!! If you're a fan of Kendall Ryan, you know this is a MUST READ. And if you're a first time reader, you're in for a TREAT!

So I LOVE Kendall Ryan!! She could write about the groceries she just purchased and how she’s planning on using each ingredient and I would devour it… pun totally intended! Ryan’s words are so smooth and fluid that I get completely caught up in her world. I loved every single word in XO, Zach! This was a fantastic read that went so quickly! XO, Zach is packed full of humor, passion, sexiness, emotion, and that fun awkwardness we all know and love!

So while I totally fell for Zack and Poppy and their slow and intense burn lit my soul on fire. I found myself wanting more of the secondary characters. Those characters are absolutely hilarious and totally take over, at times, for me. Zach’s mother, goodness, I need her in my life! That nosy neighbor made me seriously laugh out loud on several occasions. She was a complete hoot and I adored the heck right out of her! I love how she has not one single personal boundary and just has no brain to mouth filter. If she thinks it… out it comes!

The laughter was totally needed in XO, Zack because Kendall Ryan made Poppy and Zach work a little harder for their HEA. Be still my heart!! I feel like I laughed a little harder with this book than I have in any other Kendall Ryan book. She outdid herself in the RomCom area of this book. I know I’ve leaned a bit heavily on the humor but that isn’t the only area this book shines. It is incredibly sweet and heartwarming. I love the tension between Poppy and Zach. I love the heat. It’s sexy and swoonable!

Where do I even start?! I loved everything about this book except the length... I wish it could be thousands and thousands of pages of Zach and Poppy’s story!

Poppy and I have a lot in common and I think that’s why I felt so connected to this book! While I didn’t have a kid at 17, I had one a little later in life but was raising my son completely on my own and every decision I ever made was with my son’s best interest in mind. I have no doubt (looking back now) that I maybe missed out on some pretty significant events or relationships due to fear and my lack of knowledge on how to navigate as a single mom. Poppy pushed past her fears and reservations and it worked out in the end, I mean, duh - it’s Kendall Ryan! It’s going to have an HEA <3 Life isn’t perfect and there will always be challenges but I eventually did leap off the proverbial ledge and found my own HEA with an amazing man.

Zach. Oh, Zach... where to begin with this man?! He’s sex on a stick. Tattoos, messy-fixed hair, AB-licious and smart and charming and determined and he WRITES POETRY PEOPLE!! He’s the ultimate. A man who can recite Shakespeare while going down on you is A-OK in my book!

The chemistry between the two is palpable from the start. Their conversations and shared looks and stolen kisses are EVERYTHING! Kendall captures these two perfectly and it’s quickly becoming my favorite KR book!

5 very linguistically swoon-worthy stars!!

Xo, Zach is Kendall Ryan's newest standalone. I love Kendall and her books. Her writing is always great, her characters fun, sexy and smart. I know I'm going to be entertained from the first page to the very last word. Zach might be one of my favorite heroes of Kendall. There's just something about his good looks, poetic mind, sexy tattoos, dirty mouth and sweetness that called to me. He's the whole package! A chance meeting with a beautiful girl has Zach thinking with more than his manhood. After one kiss with Poppy, he's thinking more than just one night. He might want all of her nights. Poppy can't afford to be derailed from her path. School, her family, her job, her responsibilities. But there's something about Zach and his forwardness that makes her want to take a chance. Finally live a little. Her friends are hilarious and encouraging, but she's scared. Zach isn't going to give up, but he isn't going to wait forever either. Will Poppy make the first move so they can try to be an 'us' before it's too late? Can Zach convince her to take a chance? I loved this story. It's funny, sweet, sexy, frustrating and swoonworthy. I want a very own Zach of my own! I loved Poppy's independence and I could empathize with her apprehension. Her friends cracked me up and had me laughing out loud! I wouldn’t mind a little more of Zach :).

Kendall Ryan is known for her short stories and sexy men that steam up your kindle screen.

She has always been an author that I would go to for a quick read or a break between series. I always knew what I was getting into with her books.

Lately, she seems to be delving into the longer stories and deeper books. Now, I have not read all of her books, but have read enough to know that she doesn't write long books often.

I have to admit though, I am really enjoying her branching out with these stories. In fact, Xo, Zach maybe my absolute favorite that she has written so far. The complexities that the characters have, the hurdles they have jumped in their personal lives. They way that they are brought together and the story plays out had me glued.

I literally huffed and puffed anytime I had to adult and put down this story because I LOVED Poppy and of course, Zach and was dying to know what was going to happen.

I hope that Kendall Ryan continues to explore her writing skills and branch out into the longer stories with more background. Until then I will sit here and think about Zach because he will be my favorite for awhile with all of his swoony words. <3

It's live so grab it up! http://amzn.to/2n5Lrwu

Xo, Zach

*received an arc in exchange for an honest review***

Kendall Ryan nails her newest book. It’s a fun, flirty book that will have you wishing that Zach was your advisor.

Poppy is finally on the way to make her dream of writing come true. She is now starting her masters program and meeting her advisor. So when the door opens and the guy she kissed at a party over the weekend opens she is wondering what will happen now.

Zach can’t believe his luck when he finds out his advisee is the girl he kissed at the party. He has been thinking about her non-stop. The problem is though they will be working together and technically he should let his feelings go and just be her advisor. But he can’t ignore how he feels.

Poppy can’t ignore the pull to Zach she feels, but she doesn’t want to jeopardize her future, she can’t there is too much at stake. But when they try to just keep it strictly business they realize that there is too much between them to not try.

But will they be enough for each other? Or will Zach’s dream of going to NYC put a time stamp on their relationship? And will Poppy’s life that includes her son be enough for Zach?

From the moment Zach and Poppy met, there is something special there. Poppy boldly approaches Zach at a party to ask him to be her fake boyfriend when her ex arrives with his new girlfriend. They have an easy connection that allows them to talk and have a comfortable evening. I loved this “meet-cute” for this couple, it sets the tone for this wonderful romance. When Poppy meets her Master degree adviser a few days later, she is shocked to see Zach on the other side of the door. Zach is captivated by Poppy’s confidence, strength and writing skills. When he pushes for more, Poppy pushes him away, having more responsibilities in her life that Zach doesn’t know. The biggest issue being that they are adviser / student. The fun here is that they can’t stop thinking about each other. When they are together, you feel like this is a destined to be together couple. I enjoyed Poppy’s friends, Jodee and Kody, they are great catalysts in helping Poppy break out of her shell. Add in meddling mothers without filters and well, you have a fabulously fun, entertaining, sexy romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This is probably the sweetest forbidden romance that I have ever read! Amazingly well written, fantastic characters, and a HEA? What more can you ask for?!?

Poppy is a grad student that is also a single mother. She had her son at a very young age, and has pretty much made it on her own. She has had no luck with relationships, for various reasons, and really has no faith that they will get better.

Zach is Poppy's college advisor. He has aspirations of moving to New York City and becoming a writer. With everything against them, they should stay away from each other. They just can't seem to.

Zach is everything a girl could ask for. He has a tatoo'd bad boy vibe going on, but he is still sweet and supportive. Poppy is an amazing mother, to have raised her son for years on her own and still managed college and working. I can't think of anyone that could deserve such an amazing man more than her.

This book is amazing from beginning to end. I just can't think of another way to put it. Just pure amazing!

Should I go on? This book was amazing! I literally devoured it from start to finish. I laughed, I cried and i swooned.
I love both Zach and Poppy, but together they must be one of my all time favorite couples. They just make sense. And don’t get e started on Zach’s hotness! Not just on the outside, but he actually had a beautiful soul.
The writing is in dual POV which I love as we get a glimpse of what goes on in both male and female mind. I loved the fact that there was no unnecessary drama and that the storyline, even though not unique, it kept me engrossed. The writing had a good pace and a nice flow and at no point did I feel like I wanted to put the book down and take a break.
I absolutely love ce this author , she has created another amazing story! I highly recommend it.

I’m pretty sure I smiled throughout this entire book. Zach Austin and Poppy Ellis were #couplegoals.

XO, Zach is the story of Zach and Poppy which was full of heart, passion and humor. Poppy and Zach meet at a party and have a fun evening together. However, they part ways without each other’s phone numbers, leaving it up to the universe to decide if they should see each other again.

Well, guess what?

They meet up once again, her being a student and him being her advisor. I love the storyline of this book and enjoyed the dual POV. I also loved that friends and family were brought into the storyline, especially Zach’s mother who was hilarious!!

I truly enjoyed the banter between Zach and Poppy and that he knew what he wanted and went after it. I loved how this book showed the progression of their relationship and their chemistry was outstanding.

XO, Zach is the perfect Kendall Ryan book for new readers as well as dedicated fans!

My love for Kendell Ryan’s writing is growing with each book I read. But this one is my favorite so far. Everything about it was just perfect.
I love the chemistry between Zach and Poppy. I loved how he was hooked to her from the first word she said to him.

»From that first moment you approached me at the party, you've owned a piece of my heart. You're brilliant and funny and so beautiful, Poppy . I've fallen in love with you and I’m ready to pledge my forever to you. If you’ll have me. «

I don't know where she found the straight to resist him for as long as she did but hot damn - the wait was worth it. I loved how Zach was a sweet, carrying and loving man with just enough of a bad boy in him for you to drop your underwear in a second.
It would seem that Kendall Ryan can do no wrong in my book. And I can’t wait to read the next book in line.

OMG! Don’t we all want a Zachary Austin in our life! A hot looking, confident, caring, sexy sweet mouth on him kind of guy? What’s not to fall head over heels in lust/love with? And that is what Kendall Ryan’s newest book, xo Zach is all about........finding what you truly want and not being afraid to go after it.

First off let me say, I am in LOVE with the main characters, Zach and Poppy and how Ms. Ryan has written them! So much depth to them. I loved every moment reading about them. The supporting characters are amazing too! Not your stereotypical friends, or parents either, especially Zach’s Mom. Way too blunt for the normal kid, but Zach loves her deeply, despite her way too direct sexual comments.

Zach is a literary advisor for Vanderburg University, the youngest they’ve ever had. Sometimes he’s even been confused to be student there, and that’s what our sweet Poppy Ellis thinks he is when she approaches him at a “before school starts on Monday” party to be her pretend date. Poppy is a grad student pursuing her dream of being a poetry writer and has been accepted into a program at Vanderburg that will help her fulfill that dream. She’s worked hard to get there and she’s smart, talented, a high-achiever to put it mildly, but a little unsure of herself. And now her ex-boyfriend has walked in to this party with his newest girlfriend on his arm and Poppy, desperate to not look like she’s upset about their break-up asks Zach, a complete stranger, to fill the “date” role. Zach is intrigued by Poppy from the start and after a passionate kiss to convince the ex-boyfriend that they are indeed a couple, our Zach falls instantly head over heels for Poppy. But he can’t convince her to go on an actual date with him. Poppy has too much on her plate to date right now. She doesn’t have time for the shenanigans of a boyfriend (she’s sworn off men for the time being), she’s a single mom to a 7 year old boy, and frankly she’s focused on her studies and achieving her goals, even though she feels the same attraction for Zach as he has for her. It also doesn’t help that come Monday she discovers that Zach is her advisor for the program she is in. Wow can this get any more complicated???

Sweet sexy banter, hot steamy romantic sex that puts a sauna to shame, romantic prose to make a heart go pitter pat, characters you love.....it has it all! Don’t walk, RUN to get this book even if it means running to pick up your electronic device to hit the download button. You will love it too!

Xo, Zach is Kendall’s next sweet and sexy standalone novel. I mean...look at that cover! I don’t think Mike Chabot can take a bad picture. Delicious. But really, it’s a perfect match for Zach. Swoony, poetic, sweet, and confident.

Zach was going through a dry spell. He knew it. His mom knew it. The one who never would have guessed was Poppy. The woman who saw him across the room at a party and told him that he was going to pretend to be her boyfriend. She didn’t ask. She told. He loved that. From that moment he knew he wanted her. He definitely knew it when he kissed her. It wasn’t just a kiss. It was what lust-filled poems when written about. Then she walked away. He didn’t think he would see her again even though she was a graduate student and he was an advisor. It was a big campus. Well...it’s happened to be a lot smaller than thought come Monday. He was now her advisor in the writing program. He was f-...

Poppy couldn’t believe it. She lets loose for one moment in her life and it happens to be getting hot and heavy with her advisor. The man she couldn’t stop thinking about. The one she wanted to lick from head to toe but couldn’t. She needs to work, write, adult. Not date. She had to keep this professional but when he looks at her, she tingles. When he speaks, she wants to do all the filthy things he promises. It’s not just that though. He is smart. So smart. He writes poetry for f- sake. It will be hard to resist but she can do it, right?

Wrong. So wrong. The sexual tension between them could be cut with a knife. They have to be smart about this. He could lose his job. She could lose her spot in the program. He had plans. She has commitments. He has no problem telling her what he wants but she does. Will they get on the same page and take the risk?

My name is Sandra and I am in love with a fictional character. I am a total book whore. Zach is swoon-worthy times a thousand. He writes. He reads. He treats his mom right. Poppy is strong, beautiful, and smart. She is always thinking. She also has some crazy a- friends who make her stop thinking so she can have some fun. She is twenty-four not dead. Together, Zach and Poppy have great banter, major chemistry, and make each other laugh. Even though Ash can be frustrating as hell, he doesn’t give up.

Overall...it’s a fun, sexy, and beautiful read. It’s a slow burn that addicted me from the very start.

Quotes:

“Fine.” He shrugged. “It’ll take more work than I thought, but I’ll win you over. If not, Kody wants a piece of this fine ass, so there's always that.”
I snorted a laugh, unable to stop myself.
“Well I hope you two are very happy together.”

“There isn’t a single problem that can’t be solved with great sex,” he added, eyes still trained on mine.

Every wicked and depraved fantasy I'd dared not to harbor came bursting to brilliant life.

Poppy meets Zach under the most bizarre of circumstances. She’s a graduate student in poetry at a small college and, in a move that is slightly out of character for her, attends a house party with her neighbor, Jodee. Poppy had fairly recently broken up with her boyfriend and when he shows up at the party with a new girlfriend, Poppy doesn’t want to seem like she’s broken up over the split. So she does what any sane girl would do in that situation, she finds a single guy and propositions him as a fake boyfriend.

The two share a sizzling hot kiss but she knows that she can’t get involved right now. She’s just starting her graduate program and her personal life is complicated. When she finds out Zach is her program adviser, things get even more complicated, especially as their relationship heats up even more.

I loved the slow burn chemistry between Zach and Poppy. They were a lot of fun together and with the addition of Poppy’s friends and neighbors Jodee and Kody, the story was full of humor. Zach was an all around nice guy and I loved Poppy’s dedication to not only her family, but toward her future, and being able to provide for herself.

I’ll admit I am a little disappointed that the synopsis kind of oversold some of the plot points of the book, namely the notes that Zach left Poppy. The blurb mentions every Monday, however there is really one one note of any consequence, so that aspect of the story wasn’t as developed as I would have hoped it would have been. I think that might have made Zach even more endearing, if that’s possible. He was pretty much the perfect book boyfriend.

The story was told from both Poppy and Zach’s points of view and I loved Zach’s interaction with his mom more than anything. I liked that they are older college students that have a few years of life and experience under their belt so they felt more mature than the New Adult college books out there. I was sold from the very first page on all things Zach.

If you’re looking for a sweet, sexy contemporary romance, give this one a try.
