When I Surrender picks up with Knox and McKenna learning how to be in a relationship. McKenna has never really dated, she has spent most of her life trying got overcome the guilt she feels over losing her parents. While Knox has slept with plenty of girls he has never committed to one and tried to be faithful.

Knox sees something in McKenna and while he doesn’t feel like he is worthy of her, he is just selfish enough to try. I loved seeing this new Knox. He is still so damaged, but he is truly trying and it shows in his actions. This new side of Knox was very appealing, I felt like he really grew in book two and showed that he was willing to change.

McKenna story just breaks my heart. She is still living her life for her deceased parents, and the worse part she isn’t even doing what they would have wanted. She feels like living a life of servitude would please them, when in reality they would only want her to be happy. Throughout the book McKenna struggles with her feelings for Knox versus her commitment to her career and helping others. There is still so much growth and development for these characters, but I love where the story is heading.

The highlight for me would have to be the bond between McKenna and the Bauer brothers. These boys need her so desperately and the way she steps up and is willing to help them really endeared me to her character. She is selfless and caring, her heartbreaks for the loss the family has felt and wants to help them.

I love where things are heading and like the last book things ended on a cliffy, but luckily I can start book three immediately.

(Quote)We were two lost souls fighting to cling to something real.

We met Knox and McKenna in When I Break. They are two broken people suffering from loss and guilt who deal with it in different ways. She does good for others while he seeks pleasure and numbness to avoid pain and stress.

Their connection is strong and hard to deny. But the circumstances are all wrong and could have major repercussions. But somehow even though it should be all wrong, it feels right and worth exploring.

One is inexperienced. The other way too experienced. One falls in love easily. The other is not sure love is a possibility. Navigating through this new experience is difficult and confusing and for them both. I loved seeing them both have to dig in and decide if they were up for the challenge. And at alternating times have to be encouraged to keep trying and pushing their limits. Somehow they give each other what they need and make each other better.

They have been dealing with Knox's past a lot. But now McKenna's past and present are colliding and putting up more barriers for them. And all of Knox's secrets are not out yet either. Will they be able to hang on or will full disclosure split them apart for good?

"The things you've done don't scare me. I just worry I won't measure up to your past."~McKenna
"You have it backwards. My past doesn't measure up to you."~Knox

I totally love this couple. Knox is so alpha, but also vulnerable and tender. He is damaged and has been lost, but wants to try to be a better man for her. But he does not always have faith in himself. He has so much pain in his past and is dealing with the stress of raising his three younger brothers and he is only twenty-two. I love his relationship with his brothers and their lively personalities and seeing how they respond to McKenna as well.

McKenna is smart and determined, but she has a lot to handle between Knox's issues, her own personal issues, and her career. She has had a void in her life for so long, but Knox and his brothers seem to help fill it. She wants to believe the best in people, but is also fearful and anxious about the circumstances. And her own life also comes with a set of problems.

It is complicated, messy, and really not a good idea but they both have a hard time resisting. Together they are strangely balanced, broken, and beautiful. But fears, insecurities, trust issues, and outside influences cause complications and mixed feelings. There is miscommunication, secrets, jealousy, and denial. But there are also sweeter times where they are really trying to move forward and leave the past behind. And in this one there are more sexy times too.

This was a fast, sexy, engaging read. I got sucked right back into their burgeoning relationship and story and am totally invested in the outcome. It is told in both points of view showing us their innermost fears and confusion. They both have such skewed opinions of themselves and sometimes each other so this was important for us to be able to see. I love how Kendall Ryan throws in little twists that quickly shift the story line. And since this is a trilogy, this one leaves off with a bang. The cliffhanger in the first book did not affect me as much as this one. It really had me thinking and trying to piece it together. I was totally not ready for it to end and I cannot wait for the rest of their story in When We Fall.

Thanks to Kendall Ryan for providing me with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

5 Amazingly Hot Stars!

First, let me start this review by saying I absolutely love Kendall Ryan and her writing. I have read nearly every book she has written and always make the time to do so when a new release goes live. By far one of my favorite authors. This series is my all time favorite of all her books! <3

When I Surrender picks right back up where When I Break left off. McKenna believes that Knox has slept with another one of the members of their Sex Addicts Meeting, she is gutted and feels that she didn't really know him at all. Trying her best to push him from her thoughts and continue on with life isn't all that easy though. Knox is always on her mind, as well as his little brothers. She has a deep care for them, and feels a pull to Knox that she isn't able to explain. Of course she is living with her own demons and even feels that could be why she is so drawn to Knox, like a moth to a flame. Will McKenna be burned in the end. The only way to find out, is by taking a chance.

Knox finds himself in a predicament he never expected. He wants his Sex Addict counselor more than a drink, or another woman for that matter, but doesn't understand what is happening. He fights so hard to keep his emotions out of it, but yet doesn't know if he has control anymore especially when it comes to McKenna who has another man in her life that would be a much better fit.

When I Surrender is absolutely Amazing, hot and steamy, and will make you go crazy when you read the last page. Yes, Crazy! There is indeed a cliffhanger in this wonderful story full of angst and sexual tension. When I read that final page I thought I could scream. I wanted to know what in the world was happening, and why. I needed answers as much as McKenna did. I will admit though, I love a cliffhanger as much as I hate them. It leaves you wanting and needing more, as if you have a hangover. To me that is a great book! I definitely WANT more Knox and McKenna. Kendall does a phenomenal job with her characters. We grow close to them, want to know more about them, feel what they are feeling, and in the end grow to love them deeply. If you have yet to start this series, then read no more. Go buy When I Break and start the journey with these characters. I promise you won't be disappointed and you will want much, much more by the ending!

When I Surrender is the sequel in Kendall Ryan’s When I Break Series. If you haven’t read the first novel, When I Break, you must read it before diving into this book. Knox and McKenna’s story ends in a rather shocking cliffhanger at the end of When I Break, so you will be lost if you don’t follow the series in order.

I was blown away by When I Break and seriously dying to get my hands on When I Surrender. This series is tumultuous and packed full of drama and angst. There are moments of hope, romance, and plenty of passion woven throughout the plot as well. When I Surrender has exceeded all expectations set by When I Break and this has easily become my favorite series Kendall Ryan has written and a must read series for anyone addicted to angst.

McKenna and Knox’s relationship hangs in a delicate balance after the shocking events in the first novel. I loved watching as they tiptoed the line between friendship and romance as they tried to figure out how they could fit into each other’s lives. Each character exposed more of themselves and their backgrounds in this story. It was beautiful to see such vulnerability coupled with the heavily constructed emotional walls both characters have spent their lives building. Don’t worry readers; the fire between this pair is still an inferno. Kendall heats up the pages of this novel with plenty of steamy scenes to balance to heavier moments.

Questions leftover from the first book are resolved in When I Surrender and are satisfying in that aspect. However, as current loose ends are tied, more drama unfolds in the story leaving the reader with a new set of unanswered, nerve-wracking woes. Kendall Ryan toyed with my emotions and taunted me with the potential of a happily ever after only to leave me hanging until the final installment of the When I Break Series releases. Some people may think this kind of emotional torment is cruel, but I have loved every second of it and can’t help but want more.

If you are looking for a light and fluffy read, Kendall Ryan’s When I Break Series is not for you. When I Break and When I Surrender are angst-filled reads fueled by passion and drama. If you’re ready to be emotionally shredded and left begging for more, introduce yourself to Knox and McKenna and settle in for one hell of a literary rollercoaster.

When I Surrender is the continuation of McKenna and Knox's story. I'm usually not big on stories that are split into several books. Just because I have no patience. I'm greedy and I need and want the story all at once so I can eat it up. But I was desperate to read me some Kendall Ryan and took this series as an opportunity to do so.

When I Break totally ended with us on the edge of our seats. Did Knox mess around with Amanda? Was McKenna justified in her break down? What's up with creepy roommate Brian?

Some of these questions are answered in When I Surrender with an added twist. Or should I say knife in the heart. These two really have their work cut out for them. So much turmoil going on in their lives separately. I wonder if they'll be able to figure it all out in the end. Brian is still a creeper. Not sure what his deal is and quite frankly, after what happens in this book I kind of hope he stays where he's at.

There are some major challenges, I think, for Kendall Ryan in writing these characters. She has this sex hungry addict in Knox. A man who has the world on his shoulders trying to raise his brothers. Never knowing how he's going to make it day to day. Then you have McKenna, who although has some back story of her own, really is just an innocent, good hearted person trying to do the right thing. Knox comes across extremely mature in his manner and his thoughts. Where McKenna still seems extra naive. I keep waiting for her to wake up and smell the coffee. I like her well enough, she's just hard to agree with. Maybe that comes along with her innocence. With that said I think Kendall does an excellent job of bringing the two of them together and allowing them to navigate this strange relationship.

The ending...oh boy...this is a love hate ending for me. For one, I was shaking my head at the dramatic McKenna. Two I was kind of hoping her fears are right. I sort of want to see Knox slip up. Nobodies perfect right? Maybe that's my cynicism talking. Either way I very much look forward to book three which can't come out nearly fast enough. Again trying my patience LOL.

I Received A Complimentary Copy of This Book From The Author In Exchange For My Honest Review!

This is the second book in the When I Break series. This book picks up pretty much where the first book ends.

Knox and McKenna were able to get through the ending of book one and wind up back together. Things still aren't easy for this couple though. In fact things have gotten confusing and complicated for these two.

McKenna has strong feelings for Knox which makes it that much harder for her. She's suppose to be his counselor and she's having a relationship with him. She's unsure of what Knox feels for her. Especially considering his addiction. Her relationship with her best friend and roommate Ben has also changed and she's not sure what to do about it.

Knox knows that he wants to be with McKenna but he doesn't think that he's good enough for her. He's beginning to face his addiction and is learning what caused it and what brings it on. He's worried that McKenna will leave him once she finds out who he is or at least who he is in his eyes.

Knox and McKenna's relationship continues to grow and be tested in this book. The chemistry between these two is amazing. They are helping each other deal and heal from their pasts. They are growing as individuals and a couple without even realizing it. Things aren't easy though. Even while getting closer past insecurities and doubts enter the picture causing one of the best cliffhanger endings I've read in a long time.

This is only the second book I've read by Kendall Ryan but I must say that I'm amazed with her writing ability. She managed to bring Knox and McKenna to life while I was reading their story. I can't wait for May when the next book in the series comes out so I can see what happens next with these two. This is a definite must read series.

Knox and McKenna are on shaky ground since she found out Knox slept with someone in group. Or did he? McKenna seems to think so and that’s why she’s keeping her distance from him. Part of her also realizes how wrong it is to be with someone who is trying to sort out his sex addiction. Especially when she’s his counselor. Yet as much as she knows it’s not right to lust after Knox, the connection they share is too strong to pull away from.

Knox needs to get her back. He’s desperate to get McKenna’s attention and make her listen to what he has to say. But he also knows he needs to tread lightly, because he doesn’t want any chance of her leaving him completely. Knox fights for her fiercely but subtly. Though things seem to go well, McKenna’s attention is diverted elsewhere and the situation makes Knox fear losing her for good.

Individually they both deal with their own problems, but still link to one another for strength and guidance. I loved these two even more in this second novel. I loved how devoted Knox was to her and how powerful his love is, despite him not noticing it is in fact love. When McKenna goes to settle some things back home, Knox is nervous she might not go back to him, but I never once thought that was an option. It’s clear as day how much they need and mean to one another.

If you thought book one ended in a nasty cliffhanger, brace yourself! This one will leave you confused as hell. At least that’s the state I was in. I have complete faith and trust in Knox, but he’s certainly the catalyst for the eyebrow raising ending.

Amazing job on this second novel, Kendall! So beyond excited and extremely anxious for the final book in the series!

I absolutely love Kendall Ryan and her writing style. When I Surrender picks up where When I Break ends. McKenna desperately wants a relationship with Knox but she is afraid that his past will keep getting in the way. She struggles with learning to trust Knox because of his past. Knox loves McKenna is willing to do what ever it takes to keep McKenna in his life. They both have past issues that they struggle with and both need to learn to let go of the issues. McKenna gets a letter in the mail and she decides to take a trip home to deal with her past and finally let go. She comes to terms with her feelings for Knox and decides she needs to tell him in person but what she encounters when she gets there is quite a surprise. This book ends in a HUGE cliffhanger so read with caution.

The chemistry between these to is undeniable. Knox is very alpha male but also tender and lost. He is young man with lots of responsibility in taking care of his three younger brothers. McKenna is a very smart and determined girl who has lots going on in her life. She has felt so alone for many years and feels very comfortable around Knox and his brothers. Will they be able to let go of their past issues and build a loving lasting relationship with one another?

"The things you've done don't scare me. I just worry I won't measure up to your past." McKenna
"You have it backwards. My past doesn't measure up to you." Knox

I love how this book always kept me on the edge of my seat. The sex scenes were definitely kicked up a notch in this book and I can't wait to see what happens in the final book in the series!

Mckenna and Knox are back and hotter than ever. Author Kendall Ryan throws us right back into the shocking mess we find Knox in at the end of When I Break. Now with even more doubt than before is Mekenna going to be able to confront and forgive Knox about his supposed bad behavior or will she do what she does best and run???

In When I Surrender we get a much more in depth look into Knox’s life and Mckenna's past. For me When I Surrender was more about Mckenna and her coming to terms with her past and finding her future. As to what that future is only Mckenna knows. She hopes that Knox’s and the boys will be a big part of it but can she let go of her past with her best friend Brain? Knox is willing to fight for Mckenna, but he must convince her to do the same.

What can I say other than these two are a delicious, HOT mess of sexual tension and broken hearts. So just when you think all is well and Knox and Mckenna have found each other and ready to open their hearts…… Knox manages to mess up once again. (we think)

So if you love those bad boys with a broken past in need of some wonderful woman to pick them up and make them whole again, this is the series for you. If anything just reading about the hot and sexy Knox’s and all his talents *wink wink* is enough for anyone.

There is more to come of Mckenna and Knox in book 3 When I Fall releasing May 26th or I hope sooner.

What the what. Did it just end like that again?!! I love McKenna and Knox's story. I was seriously dying for this book. In the highly anticipated sequel to When I Break by Kendall Ryan, Know and McKenna continue on with their broken beginning love story.

Knox knows McKenna means a lot to him but broken from a past of being alone and raising his brothers alone, he doesn't know how to give love or if he even wants TO. He knows sex. That's it. But when it comes to McKenna, he knows it's different and he's willing to fight.

McKenna slowly realizes that she loves Knox. She doesn't love Knox only though she loves his brothers and the idea that she could be apart of their family. She isn't secure enough though to trust Knox completely. That will take time.

They both hold a lot of guilt for events in their past. Knox's guilt is for sex and the way he works relationship wise. Its the reason he's scared to give into McKenna. McKenna feels guilt for her parents death.

You think they're starting to heal, you think maybe, just maybe they will get their happily ever after, then BOOM, cliff hanger. Dang you Kendall Ryan. You're killing WITH these endings. I loved this book though. Loved.. probably even more than When I Break, but now the waiting game begins.

Beautiful story with some beautifully flawed characters. 5 STARS for When I surrender.

LOVE this series. There is something so intoxicating about these books, so much so I could care less the leave me hanging at the end. It actually makes me happy because I know I get more.

Knox and McKenna came to a crossroads at the end of When I Break. The story picks up about a week after the heartbreaking event McKenna believes happened. Kendall Ryan does a fabulous job with the first few pages of the book, she does not hold back. One of the best beginnings to a 2nd book. I was shocked by what I was reading. IT all comes full circle and we see how both McKenna and Knox must grow from their past.

I love how McKenna was the strong one in When I Break, but now we see Knox has a sold pillar of strength. I love reading the chemistry with these two characters, and their story unfolds nicely. Just when we think all will be well, we are dealt with two of life's blows and the ending leaves me wanting more. <---- This is the sign of AMAZING writing. To have a reader so invested into 2 well written characters and then to have an ending that I could careless will give be a third book is BRILLIANT!!!! Just when I thought everything will fall in place for McKenna and Knox, BAM, here comes the obstacle. I am sitting here trying to figure out if she will let this slide or if she will let him explain. I love every single minute of “When I Surrender.” I love Knox, him and his imperfections, I love McKenna, her and her imperfections, they both have an issue of letting go and just seeing how things will play out in their lives. Even though McKenna wants to believe that she trusts Knox, deep down she doesn’t because of his past. I know she would like to move past it all and love him but I don’t think she will be able to. Knox, Knox, Knox, I think Kendall have an awesome way of letting her readers fall in love with her alpha male characters, because let me tell you, I love Knox. He is so sweet the way how he looks out for his brothers, even though he thinks that he is not a loyal man and there’s no good in him, he is everything and much more. The love scenes we fan-freaking-tastic, I loved every single one of them, the details were don’t with finesse precision and made me fall deeper in love with Knox. I cannot wait to find what Kendall have in story for Knox and McKenna’s journey.

Finishing this book, I have gone into full-on ‘NEED MORE KNOX & McKENNA’ time now! Kendall Ryan left me hanging with When I Break and I KNEW this one would as well. I went in willingly. Because really, it’s all about Knox. (And McKenna, of course!) And I just couldn’t wait to read this installment in the When I Break series even knowing I’ll have to wait another month for the final one.

As much as I loved Knox and McKenna in When I Break, I loved them even more in this book. Their chemistry is off the charts. Knox is sexy, naughty, and on the verge of falling back into his same addicting ways again. McKenna continues to struggle with her desires for Knox against the expectations as his counselor. I’ll admit, this did give me some pause, but it’s fiction and I’m happy to suspend my belief. And of course, there’s some moments with McKenna’s roommate that had me biting my nails wondering what was going to happen!

Overall, I loved the ease in which Kendall Ryan delivers a dual POV, dialogue that has me turning pages, and a steam factor that put a blush on my cheeks! C’mon May…I need the next book!

I really love these two characters. McKenna struggled a lot in this book. She struggled with her feelings for Knox and his past. She struggled with the conflict of her job and learning to move on her past and forgive herself. Knox is moving forward. He’s trying to figure out a way he can be with McKenna. He needs her in his life. She is the first woman he’s ever had true feelings for and he doesn’t know how to express them.

The chemistry between Knox and McKenna was ever growing and my queen of steam, Kendall Ryan, took the steam up a notch from book one. This book was sexy with a dash of passionate, sweet and touching. Knox is an alpha male, but he’s so damn loving and charming. McKenna’s growth in this book was lovely to see. The characters are great, but not just the main two. I am in love with Knox’s little brothers. All of them. They are the best. The ending had a cliffhanger, but thankfully the next and final book in McKenna and Knox’s series will be out at the end of May

Yet again, Kendall Ryan knocks it out of the freaking park with some serious hotness that could make iron clad panties melt!!

After a ridiculously intense introduction to Knox and McKenna's story, we are back with another round of heart throbbing steam, unbelievable angst, and a spine tingling plot.

Who knew a sex addict like Knox would have me hooked, lined, and utterly freaking sunk... Kendall, that's who. That woman has an amazing mind, and I would give a limb just to spend some time in that awesome head of hers.

Now... what the heck do I do while I wait for book three? Oh, yeah... read some more of this amazing authors work (and probably pester her to give me book three early? - I'm clutching at straws here!!)

Oh, and if you thought Knox was hot in book one... SHEEESH! He will blow your socks off in book two!!

When I Surrender is an intense ride you just won't want to end.

Often times I feel bad for being the first person to leave the lowest star review, this time I don't though. Firstly I want to say that I DID enjoy this book. It was a pretty quick and easy read for me, and while Knox irks me I can't stop reading him. But it ends abruptly just as the first did.

I will be reading the next book, not because I can't wait to devour it, but because I want to know how it turns out. What happens to the other characters too..

**SPOILERS****

So here's the deal, this book ends just as abruptly and almost in the same exact way as the first one did. I mean it's very similar how they end, that's the biggest reason for the low star count. Just a few others, I really wish McKenna would just woman up and tell Brian how it is. Every time he tries to confront her about her feelings or whatever she runs crying into her bedroom, I get that they are friends but c'mon just tell him how it is and figure out a way to get the heck out of dodge because her mixed signals (even though she doesn't mean for them too be that way, love sucks...poor Brian) are confusing the crap out of him and I worry about him becoming a stalker. Another one is Jaxson, I'm almost more worried about his future as a player at this point then about Knox and McKenna.

A rollercoaster of emotions.

Once again Kendall does not disappoint us. She totally blew me away.

In When I Surrender McKenna and Knox continue their healing process each one for itself and together. Their journey is for sure a touching and obsessing addiction with consuming and pulling depth and intensity and complexity. You can see that they both have grown and are still growing and it is really amazing to watch it. The passion and feelings are getting stronger and stronger.

This part of their journey also ended with a cliffhanger. The good thing is that we do not have to wait long for the conclusion because it releases next month.

Loved it.

When I Surrender by Kendall Ryan

Review by Jen (BestSellers & BestStellars)

When I Surrender was amazing! I loved When I Break, which was book one in this series, and I couldn’t wait for the second book to be released. I do have to mention there’s a cliffhanger in book one because McKenna and Knox’s story continues in book two, so you MUST read When I Break first! This book really puts you through a roller-coaster of emotions. There’s so much drama, There was more sexual tension, but definitely not as bad as book one. You get a little bit of everything .. there was angst, damaged characters, and underneath it all there’s a true love story. There is a HUGE cliffhanger at the end of When I Surrender, but, the third book will be out in May, so it’s really only a month away. I can’t wait for When We Fall, so I can find out what happens in the conclusion of Knox and McKenna’s story!! Seriously, you need to read this book, NOW! Kendall Ryan definitely did not disappoint with When I Surrender!

Things pick up right where they left off in When I Break. McKenna and Knox have been through so much. When things start off in When I Surrender, McKenna and Knox are not together because they’re working on fixing themselves.

I love McKenna, and I have since the beginning. She’s still the same sweet, caring, and beautiful girl. She’s still feeling the guilt over what happened with her parents, so she’s still volunteering and helping others. I definitely love all of the scenes with McKenna and Knox’s brothers. Those are some of my favorite parts in the book.

Things with Knox are still complicated because McKenna wants more from him but he keeps telling her that he’s not capable of love, even though deep down McKenna knows he is. She doesn’t just want a friendship with him anymore, she wants more than that.

“I do though, that’s the thing. I want this with you. And not this pseudo friend-zone you’ve placed me in. I want everything. I want to be loved, cherished, and made to feel like a woman, your woman, not your little sister.”

McKenna is still a little hesitant about pursuing things with Knox because of his past. He doesn’t do relationships and instead just hooks-up with random girls, and that’s not what McKenna wants. She wants a real relationship with him, and even though she’s scared to pursue it, her heart knows what it wants.

“I was falling for this man, body, heart, and soul. Part of that scared me, but mostly I felt happy and safe.”

Then we have Knox. I freaking love him and have since book one. Even though I don’t agree with his actions sometimes, I still love him. He’s dealing with the consequences of a misunderstanding. Knox doesn’t do relationships, but it’s different with McKenna. She has weaved her way into Knox’s life, and that’s something he’s not used to.

“McKenna had gotten under my skin. And hell if a part of me didn’t like it. She was a fascination, someone I wanted to understand. And I felt that way around very few people.”

Knox wants McKenna, there’s no doubt about it, and he’s not going to just sit around and do nothing. He’s going to fight for her, even though he thinks he doesn’t deserve someone like her.

“I never thought I’d be the one to offer her those things, but seeing how brave she was, how open she was with her needs, made me question everything. I wanted to be what she needed. I just didn’t know how and was pretty certain I’d find a way to f*** it up. Hurting her was out of the question.”

Then of course we get the sexy Knox, which of course is one of my favorite parts about him! He definitely has the ability to make your panties melt! I mean, how can you resist that?

“I love your scent. And I’m certain you’ll taste delicious. Real males like that taste, McKenna. Let me worship your p****.”

I loved this book! This was the most intense roller-coaster ride I have been on and I enjoyed every minute of it, but it’s not over yet! I love McKenna and Knox and I am continuing to root for them to be together. There is so much drama but it is completely worth it. When I Surrender was even better than When I Break, but I cannot wait for When We Fall!

The quality of writing was great. The story was extremely well-written and very enjoyable to read. This was such an intense, drama-filled love story between two characters that were complete opposites and struggled so hard to be together. The story completely captivated me and I could not put it down! Kendall Ryan has done it again and I am impatiently awaiting the conclusion of McKenna and Knox’s story in When We Fall!

5 Amazing Diamonds!!

Knox now holds the title of my favorite male Kendall Ryan character. I LOVE him!

After reading and loving When I Break, I will admit that I was hesitant and nervous about reading this second installment to the series. I don't have the best luck with books living up to the first in a series and I wasn't sure where Kendall was going to take us with Knox and McKenna's story. I ended up loving this book MORE than the first!

Knox deals with the loss of his mother and the heavy burden he carries of raising his three brothers by plowing through women like it's a hobby. Emotionally crippled and never having been in a relationship, he's taken completely off guard when he starts falling for his sex addiction group therapist, McKenna. The first book ends on a misunderstanding and leaves us wondering if Knox and McKenna can ever make a go of a real relationship. You can't deny they have chemistry and a deep connection.

McKenna carries guilt about her parents death and uses volunteer work (and working herself to death) as her way of repentance. She's one of the sweetest most selfless women characters I've ever encountered in a novel - but she doesn't see herself that way. On top of all that - she's dealing with the fact that she also has never been in a real relationship and is hesitant about pursing something with Knox. Her fears of whether he can give her what she needs and wants hold her back from getting too close. And then you throw in her best friend/roommate who harbors feelings for her - it's a lot for McKenna to deal with.

McKenna and Knox spend more time together and have to decide if this deep connection they have is worth pursuing. McKenna is afraid her relationship with Knox is wrong because of his addiction and is scared he can't commit to her. Knox is afraid he's going to let her down and not be able to give her the love she deserves. All hell breaks loose at the end and then there is a brutal cliffhanger. I couldn't be upset though - knowing the final installment comes out next month. Thank god for that!

You can't help but adore Knox. He's trying so hard to change and how can you not love a sexy, responsible man who takes care of his three younger brothers?! It's hot. And there's no comparison to the way Kendall Ryan writes a steamy scene. She had my heart racing many times reading this book!

I can't wait to read When We Fall and the conclusion to Knox and McKenna's story!

Better than the first. Major cliff hanger. Characters have a little more chemistry. They just seem so young and naïve. Knox had to grow up fast to raise his brothers so he seems a little more mature but McKenna, I just don't know. lets see how the next book goes.

"We were two lost souls fighting to cling to something real."….Knox

I don't even really know how to express my feelings on this book!!!! I have so many things going through my head right now. I will admit this review will probably be on the short side because I don't want to include spoilers in my review and a lot of what I want to say would give to much away.

When I Surrender is the second book in the When I Break series. I thought it was an excellent second book to a trilogy. Kendall did a fantastic job answering questions that were left over from book 1, but also created new ones that I am guessing will be answered in the final book.

This book starts off where When I Break ended ( Kind of ) There really isn't any time lost, but let me just say this book started off with a BANG!!!! I was ready to leave Kendall a very nasty note with how this book started…..lol :D I am glad I was completely wrong. I thought she did a great job sucking us into this story and connecting even more to McKenna and Knox. I loved that we got to know these characters even more in this book. Some things are revealed in this book that help you understand McKenna and Knox better. I LOVED watching these two characters grow into stronger and better people. Don't get me wrong, they still had their challenges to overcome and still at the end of this book, have challenges to overcome but you could still see how they were growing. I have to say I love Knox even more after reading this book then I did after I finished book 1. I was so glad to see this side of Knox, he is definitely in my Top 10 Book Boyfriend List!!!! I was also glad to see McKenna open up more in this installment. The things she tells Knox are things that needed to come out. And again….Can I just say that Knox and McKenna have AMAZING sexual chemistry!!!! Kendall really knows how to melt a pair of panties ;)

We do see Brian in this book also….I am just going to leave it at that because everything I want to say gives to much away. I still don't really like Brian but I did feel bad for him towards the end.

Now the bad news……this book ended on another cliffhanger!!!!! Kendall is trying to kill me I believe. This one was torture. I can't wait for book 3 in May. If you are NOT a FAN of Cliffhangers then I would definitely wait until all 3 books are out before meeting Knox and McKenna. With that said I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this book/series to everyone. This series is so different from anything she has written that it just sucks you in, but it is also a Kendall Ryan book, so you know it's going to be GREAT!!!!
