Philip Yancey has written perhaps the most important book of our time. The church in America needs to open its doors to ALL believers. The idea of pastors, priests, and ministers setting themselves up as judge and jury needs to stop. Yancey has discovered God's grace and provides us with the clearest picture of it. A must read for all who believe.

Philip Yancey once again has done a wonderful job. I loved this book. I picked it first because I wanted to know more about God's grace. Secondly, I picked it because I have read other books by Philip Yancey and loved them. While reading this book I came to realize what Philip says is so true about us living in a world of ungrace. There were many passages I read over and over again for them to sink in and others made tears come to my eyes because of the awesome grace of God. I just want to thank Philip for this book and I encourage everyone to read it. You will have a better appreciation for the grace God has so freely given us all.

Philip Yancy is a talented writer who has spent his life writing about the hard problems of life and how a relationship with Christ is worth receiving and pursuing. Every book he has ever written has drawn me closer to being more Christlike. They have caused me to examine myself, my relationship with God and with other people. Most importantly, they have reminded me of how much God loves me and how that love is life changing to me and others. This was the first book of Yancy's I ever read. I soon discovered the others. This one is my favorite.

I would recommend "What's So Amazing About Grace?" to anyone who wants to know what Christianity's all about, or to any Christian that's always seeking to grow. Yancey boldly and passionately explores grace from nearly all angles - and he does so in a way that anyone can appreciate, no matter how their relationship with God (or lack thereof) is. He uses scripture, other events from history, fables, and personal stories. He explores what grace and "ungrace" are, why we all need grace, why we should dispense grace and forgiveness to others, and topics such as legalism, or "grace abuse".

This is a very thought-provoking book. Yancey asks questions that all Christians should consider. Particularly how we as Christians show grace to the world. This is the third book I've read in my current study on the grace of God. The more I study the more convinced I am that God's grace is AMAZING . Grace and peace to you from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7

Yancey's book puts grace on display amazingly well. He could be more clear on how one is saved and not saved, but I thoroughly appreciated the book. I'll bet it will challenge your mind on the extent of God's grace toward sinful man... and how we should have that same perspective.

This helped me immensely with learning to forgive, which is one of the hardest things to do. But the alternative of holding a grudge is worse. The need for grace is so necessary for our relationships to not deteriorate. We will always be wounded and offended by others' sinful nature that it is grace that allows us to move forward and stop the pattern of hurt. This book sobered me with the need to show grace rather than judgment because that is why we ourselves are in favor with God through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Every church congregation should have copies. Yancey nails it! Not only are so many of our churches lacking in grace....so many people lack empathy and its characteristic of loving extensions of grace.

Christianity is set apart from other religious because of "grace" - receiving unconditional love from God just as we are. Perfection doesn't happen to human beings and that makes for a priceless gift given to us through Jesus' suffering of great price.
This book reminds us of what it's all about and assists us in being "grace full". It's amazing! A must read!

This is a great book for an individual or combine the book, DVD, and leader's guide for an exciting group study. If you have a group who loves to talk and has great insights, the leader's guide may not be needed. However, you can't go wrong with using all three resources. I would highly recommend this.

I love this book. I am recommending it to everyone I know who is of faith. I particularly enjoy the deceptive simplicity that Mr. Yancey employs as he draws out various aspects of grace and of Christ's presence in our daily lives. It was recommended by a friend, and I'm very grateful!

Inspiring words on a little understood topic. Christians talk about grace, but few of us really understand what it means. I thank Philip Yancy for helping me to fully understand this great gift. Read it. You will be abundantly blessed.

Yancey has a wonderful, readable style of writing; he is not afraid to ask the difficult questions that Christians often have. This book was particularly helpful to me when I was facing personal problems.

For Christians, it doesn't get any better than Yancey's What's So Amazing About Grace!!! I used it in a retreat setting and am currently using it in an adult Sunday School class. It's a truly profound piece of writing with genuine contributions from a wide variety of people trying to practice Grace! It is appropriate for any time of year and in any setting. Yancey's personal history is a very important part of his message, and it brings a credibility and power that convinces the listener.
