I enjoyed the story except that the author used Jesus, God, GD, or some combination throughout the story. It's not needed. I can handle cuss words but the 20 plus times the author uses God's name in vain is not ok for me as a reader.

Erecting the mask was the easy part, keeping it in place is proving to be a difficult process. I received an ARC of River of Love in exchange for an honest review. Sam and Faith aren't all that different. Good at hiding personal pain by keeping others at a distance. Sam wallows in a variety of short relationships that resort in a revolving door of women. Faith turns her feelings inward and exudes a shy, unyielding personality.

Nobody does irony like Ms. Foster. Faith and Sam shouldn't have a connection. But they do. My guess is because they sense the wounded animal and turbulent emotions each is trying to hide. As they get to know more about each other, the walls start to come down and the healing begins. What starts out as a slow building friendship may have a chance at becoming more. River of Love has the makings of a Lifetime movie with the emotional upheaval of the Hallmark Hall of Fame series. By now, Melissa Foster cannot surprise me. Her stories keep getting better and her characters are rapidly maturing with every novel.

ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Sam Braden is almost every girl’s hookup at Peaceful Harbor. He’s known for his player reputation and is unapologetic about it. He loves his business, Rough Riders, which caters river rafting and almost every crazy adventure/sports you could think of for adventurous and adrenaline-seeker like him. Which is why he’s drawn to Faith Hayes, his brother’s (who’s a doctor) assistant. Smart, sexy as hell Faith. Faith had a rough start moving to Peaceful Harbor. She’s been cheated by her d-bag of an ex that’s why she created Women Against Cheaters, a community of women who also suffered the same fate as hers. But it’s built to lift and help each other up. That’s why one look at Sam on the night of her boss’s wedding and she knew she couldn’t risk her heart that way again. Only, Sam got other plans. And when Sam set sight on a thing he wanted, needed, he doesn’t half-assed it.

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I think I just found another author to 1-click! And hug and kiss and smother. Like real fast! I’m so glad that I took a chance with her. Because this story’s worth it. It’s unlike any other romance books out there with so much stuff thrown in the way to make things interesting, unique that only made the theme (romance, HEA) more of like a background than the main attraction. Not even a trace of insta-everything. Only slow, burning passion.

River of Love is about two different people who were hurt by their pasts but didn’t let that ruin what they could’ve had. While I wasn’t a fan of cheating tropes (I don’t really like that so you can trust me on this one not being that kind of cheating), Melissa made sure it wasn’t about the MC getting unfaithful to the LI. Which I loved, by the way. If anything, I was glad that Sam turned out to be the bigger person in their relationship. But it didn’t mean Faith was the mean girl. She surely just reacted based on what she saw so she had all the rights to second-guess him. What I wasn’t expecting though was how things flowed smoothly and progressed nicely that I felt like I was right there with Faith getting all swept by sweet and thoughtful Sam. And how romantic it turned out to be given the underlying cheated-by and player hints of the story.

I have SO MUCH love with Sam and Faith that I knew they’d be under my Most Favorite Couples with both characters earning a spot in my Top MC and LI lists. Faith with all that she experienced in her past came up with so much strength, drawing her independence and courage to move on with her life, leaving her past behind. The cherry on top? It’s with Sam along the way. Sam though, OMG, Sam Braden. I didn’t like him at first because he’s a player but I guess there’s more than what it meets the eye? He’s come around when he knew what he really wanted in life. And I could totally keep him! Definitely book boyfriend material! He’s such a sweetheart but only if you got to know him better and see him way past the player behavior because that’s not who he really is. But most people don’t know that because Sam only showed them what he wanted to.

I loved every second I spent reading this story because aside from a great prose, nothing in it felt forced, even the chemistry and the slow, sure love that bloomed between the amazing characters. I got sad to know it had to end because the story was just too awesome for words and I couldn’t let Faith and Sam go just yet. They’re really something.

River of Love is one excellent story of taking risks, trust, hope that’s all wrapped in a love that’s all-consuming, passionate and life-changing. It’s very, very heartwarming that I think everyone would love it as much as I did. Definitely one of my best and fave reads this year!

Did I mention this book was really s*xy and hot? Like OMG, give me a fan please! Totally. Absolutely. Positive. Prepare your ovaries as well because not only the characters would get you hot and bothered but also swoon all. the. freaking. time and leave you satisfied with that insert-hearteyes-emoji-here all over your face. Maybe even mushy. And all things cheesy but not the OTT kind that we’d only end up puking. Haha!

What I love about picking up a Melissa Foster book is the fact I know it will be a fabulous, romantic story. River Of Love more than exceeds my expectations.

Sam Braden is a 'love 'em and leave 'em' kinda man and doesn't want to follow his brothers on their road to matrimony. He enjoys women, and equally, they are more than willing to reciprocate whatever he's offering. He has a job he enjoys managing his Rough Riders outdoor adventure business. He loves his life and wouldn't change a thing! Yet, he's drawn to the attractive assistant working in his brother Cole's clinic and can't keep from dropping in for a visit! He knows she's interested too, but Cole has told him to stay away. Sam respects his brother's opinion, but as Cole heads off on his honeymoon, he can't fret about what he doesn't know, right?

Faith Hayes moved to Peaceful Harbor after a painful breakup from her cheating boyfriend. She enjoys her work as a doctor's assistant and in her spare time she leads a group she founded called Women Against Cheaters! The brother of her boss is a frequent visitor to the clinic and she can't stop herself from staring at the tall, sexy man. If only his womanising reputation wasn't true!

Sam and Faith make such an intriguing couple as they initially appear to be at opposites ends of the spectrum. Sam is the epitome of what Faith despises yet her assumptions are slightly off. She doesn't hold back as she challenges Sam's past and blown away by his charismatic retort. His blasé attitude to his reputation oozes honesty, but it isn't sufficient to convince Faith that he is capable of having a relationship. For the first time in his life, Sam has to see himself through the eyes of others, motivating him to prove to Faith that he isn't like her ex-boyfriend. He wants to prove he's capable of love as much as he wants to gain Faith's trust in himself. All the while, sexual sparks fly whenever they are together.

Like all Melissa Foster's other books I've read, the supporting ensemble is there for much more than to fill a scene. Their inclusion is very much a part of the overall storyline. Faith's best friend is their to put doubt into her mind about the Sam. The Braden family add useful insight into Sam's character. The writing draws you into the lives of the characters, willing you to want to know more about them. Whilst this, like all the other books in the series are stand-alone. You'll want to read and catch-up on other members of the Braden clan too.

To sum up River of Love: Escapism at its best!

Sam has a horrible reputation, but no one knows the real Sam, not even Sam’s family. Sam has had his eyes set on Faith for a while but Cole, his brother, has warned him off of Faith because of Sam’s reputation. Things change the night of Cole and Leesa’s wedding. Sam realizes that he wants Faith and is willing to do what he needs to do for that to happen. When Faith turns down Sam for a dance at the reception, Sam realizes that his reputation could cost him the one person that he truly wants. Watching Sam overcome and prove that he is not what his reputation has led him to be perceived as.

Faith is an employee of Sam’s brother and doesn’t want anything to do with Sam because of her history. Women Against Cheaters, WAC, was created because of what Faith went through with her ex-boyfriend. This online community that Faith created gave women a place to have support and a way to make themselves better. Sam finds out about WAC when he arrives at the car wash Faith mentioned when she turned him down for a dance. Sam decides that he wants to prove to Faith that he is not who every one thinks he is.

Within the first 3 chapters, I messaged Melissa and let her know that I wanted to smack Vivian. I didn’t like the way she treated Faith, even though I understood why she was acting the way she was. Vivian did redeem herself, slightly with me. I am interested to see if Melissa will write Vivian’s story and maybe I can understand why she was such a witch to Faith at the beginning of Faith & Sam’s relationship.

River of Love

Melissa Foster continues her spectacular writing in River of Love, The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor. In this story, Sam - a very handsome, loyal, woman-loving, rafting business owner sets out to woo his doctor brother’s physician’s assistant, Faith. Faith of course knows about Sam’s many previous conquests and how he likes to have fun with women. She was hurt in her past and is scared to trust men. She even started her own online forum, Women Against Cheaters. She believes Sam to be a man who would play with her heart, even though she is curious about him.

Sam can’t get past Faith’s opinion of him. He wants to prove her wrong and win her heart. Faith is different than his other woman and soon realizes that he’s in love with her and will do anything to prove it to her. Faith wants to trust him, but fears the past will repeat itself and she will again be hurt. Guarding her heart is what is important to her. Sam steps in and inserts himself into her life. Little by little, he chips away and earns her trust and her heart.

In this story, Melissa Foster again allows us to believe in fate and in life changing love. Read River of Love and fall in love with Sam and Faith’s story. This is one book you do not want to pass up.

Sam's reputation as a playbook is well earned and while he doesn't brag about it, neither does he lie about it. So who can.blame Faith for being skeptical about his desire to not only change but to date her. After all, she's been cheated on by her ex. Why should she think a serial hook-up artist would be any different.
But Sam is different. He never cheated because he has never been in a relationship. And Faith learns what kind of man he by not just his words but his actions. Their honesty and openness make them a very different kind of couple. There's not a lot of unresolved angst because they discuss problems and hurt feelings as the arise. Even the disapproval of her best friend and his brother are dealt with in a calm, rational way....for the most part!
I liked Sam and Faith as a couple and as individuals. I loved their playfulness, their sexiness and their sweetness...because they had it all. I loved the dialog, the secondary characters who enriched the story but didn't overwhelm it. I love Melissa Foster's writing style, humor and settings. She writes real, believable characters, and that to me is a sign of a great storyteller!

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

After experiencing heartbreak as a teen, Sam turned into the resident playboy of Peaceful Harbor. But as much as he sleeps around, he treats all of his lady friends with respect and they all know the score. Faith is relatively new to town but has already heard all about Sam Braden. After being cheated on by the man she thought she'd marry, she has no intention of falling for another smooth talker, no matter how cute and attentive he seems.

RIVER OF LOVE was a sweet and simple read and the first book I've read from Melissa Foster. It's told in dual POVs and while it's part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. This was a good book that was well written and I liked both Sam and Faith, but the story didn't excite me and it took me several days to finish it. If you like sweet stories about sweet people, this one is for you.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

RIVER OF LOVE is the first book of Melissa Foster’s that I read without a co-author. I actually discovered her writing though Bella Andre and have been meaning to read more of her work since. Even though this is technically book fifteen in the Love in Bloom: The Bradens series, I found that I could easily slip into this world that Foster has created. As you can expect, there’s quite a big cast of characters as it revolves around a family and their friends but Foster still doesn’t allow that to overshadow the romance.

And oh, what a romance it is. Our heroine, Faith Hayes, is against all men since she was cheated on. The bad breakup was so severe that she even started an organization that supports women who have been cheated on. So it’s quite interesting that Foster paired Faith up with the love em and leave em type of Sam Braden.

Sam has a reputation of a womanizer and at first, I wondered if this was going to be one of “those” books. The one where the heroine gets falls foolishly in love with the bad boy hero and gets her heart broken. Thankfully, it wasn’t like that at all and Sam actually turned out to be quite the catch.

Foster gives so much depth to Sam’s character that you’re helpless but to fall in love with him. I can totally understand Faith’s uncertainty and mistrust concerning men after what she went through but Sam is honestly such a good boy that it’s hard not to care. His persistence and honesty is not only endearing but it made me melt countless times throughout the story. The romance is so strong in this book that I think readers will have a tough time NOT falling in love with these characters.

With fifteen books in the series already, you may balk but I’m actually really excited. I’ve found a new author and more books to devour so I can’t wait to try the others and find out what I am missing. If you like your Contemporary Romances very sweet and heavy on the romance (kind of like Bella Andre’s Sullivans style) then you absolutely need to try Melissa Foster!

Favorite Quote:

You don’t need a life jacket, Faith. I’ll keep you afloat.

River of Love by Melissa Foster is the newest installment in The Bradens series and while part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

I met Sam Braden and Faith Hayes for the first time in Surrender My Love and was instantly intrigued by these characters. Sam is adventure loving, playboy while Faith is serious, shy and a woman who abstains from falling for casanova types like Sam except that her heart flutters and body thrums when he is near.

Sam has felt attracted towards Faith from the first time that he met her in his brother, Cole's office where she works as Physician Assistant. Unable to justify his attraction, he just likes flustering her until one evening when everything changes and he realizes that he wants her in his life.

This book narrates the heartwarming story of how Sam, a playboy who never commits and loves only short flings, changes when he really commits to the woman he loves. I felt misty eyed several times while reading about Sam's determination to prove himself worthy of Faith's love and change a reputation that he had nurtured since his teens.

Faith, on the other hand, has been wounded and heart by a man before and is not ready to commit her broken heart again. It was fun watching these two butt heads and I just loved how Sam thawed her resolve and found various unexpected and oh so sweet ways to court her.

Melissa's writing style is her usual fluid and expressive self and I enjoyed her portrayal of Peaceful Harbor and loved meeting the Braden family where several new romances are hinted at and I am so eager to get to read them.

I loved Faith's best friend, Vivian who has also faced heartbreak at the hands of the man she loved and is now critical of Sam's devotion and feelings towards her friend, Faith. She is sassy, sometimes blunt but always a devoted friend to Faith. Would love to read her story too and maybe Melissa will give us her story soon.

All in all, River of Love is a sweet, heartfelt and engaging story of love that had me engrossed right till the end. 4.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen.

Just the thought of The Braden’s bring butterflies to my stomach. I can hardly wait to read each new book as Melissa Foster releases them. This is The Braden’s at Peaceful Harbor, which are the cousins of the other Braden’s in the Love in Bloom Series.

This is the first book in this series that I felt a connection to the woman character before I fell for the man. While Sam Braden is amazing, Faith was even more amazing. She was hurt, badly, yet she stepped out of all her comfort zones and became a better, strong, and more sufficient woman. Her life could have go the other way and she could have wallowed and lost her way yet she not only made something of herself she helped so many others become better people too. I believe she made Sam a much better person just by being around him.

Sam is of course wonderful. He also has been hurt, yet he acts out and becomes a person that he doesn’t always like so much. The best part is the romantic part of him Sam. I believe this a part that he didn’t know existed within him and when it comes out he becomes the best man he can be. When faced with hard work and a challenge he steps up and conquers it.

Of course, I love Sam and Faith. I recommend this book. It is part of a series, but Melissa’s Love in Bloom series each book can be read as a standalone. If read in order they are even better since you will be more familiar with the characters and settings.

AUDIOBOOK NOTE....As with the rest of this series, BJ Harrison is amazing. The characters are brought to life with the changing tones of his voice, his smooth cadence, and his wonderful reading of River of Love. There were many times that I found myself lost in his voice not paying attention to what else I was doing. I definitely recommend listening to the stories on Audible.

Oh how I have missed reading Melissa’s books. I have missed my men.

I have read all of Melissa’s books in this entire series from the very, very beginning. 99% of the time, I don’t remember what happened in the previous book (one, I read a lot, and two, I have always had reading comprehension issues) but I never have an issue reading the current book and getting immersed in the romance.

Sam is your typical Melissa Foster man – completely wrong but oh so completely right. Like many of our other boys; he has quite a reputation, but unlike some of our other guys; I don’t know that it’s ever been this bad.

I adore Faith and could be BFF’s with her any day! I totally want to join her WAC group (and be a friend who helps swoon over Sam!)

I love the chemistry, the tenderness, the family cohesiveness… I just love them all. I am so happy to have been able to fit a Braden into my chaotic schedule! I needed it!

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

River of Love is book 3 The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor and could Sam be any hotter!! Ok who am I kidding all the men in Melissa Fosters book are just hot, hot, hot. Oh my god how does this woman do it?

Sam Braden is one of those guys who doesn't do relationships - or rather he does't do them as he hasn't found the right woman so naturally he has a reputation of being a bit of player. At his brother Cole's wedding he set his sights on Faith, who works with Cole. Cole has warned Sam not to mess with Faith but he cant shake the feeling that he wants to be with her.

Faith alongside working with Cole also runs WAC - Woman Against Cheaters, which she set up after being cheated on herself as a way to help other women in the same situation and she has already judged Sam before the see the guy he really is, that is until he convinces her to go on a date with him.

He works hard to prove he is done with the playboy days and she comes around to him, they are such a great couple together and the chemistry is just amazing how he gets her, but when someone from the past shows up and jeopardises what they have, I totally wasn't expecting that!! Most books have the wee twist but I didn't really see this one I was just so engrossed in Sam and Faith that I guess I missed the connection. I actually thought that her BFF Vivian was going to have something revealed as I really didn't like her = but then she was just being a true friend to Faith, so will let her off!
This is yet another outstanding book from Melissa Foster, again one that can be read as a stand alone but you will not settle for just reading this book - you connect with each and every single character that you will want to go back and read about them, and you will be patiently waiting for the next one to come out!

"His mind refused to play any woman game these days. It was drenched in thoughts of Faith, and he wanted to experience all those things about her firsthand."

Goodness me, I love those Bradens!!

I also love stories just like this one. You know the ones. The notorious player (a.k.a. Sam Braden) starts to slowly morph into a one woman man once he meets the right one (a.k.a. Faith Hayes).

They considered each other forbidden because Faith's boss just happens to be Sam's brother, Cole. But that doesn't stop emotions when they are too strong to hold back anymore.

"Go out with me."
"No, thank you."
"You want to go out with me, Faith."
"No, I don't."
"You do. You will."

Faith had been through hell and back with her last relationship and she wasn't aiming to jump into a new one anytime soon. Especially not with someone she knew had the power to crush her.

But the thing about Sam was that he was so much more than she ever thought he could be. The playboy act was a facade he carried around with him to protect his own painful past.

"You might miss out on a really great story if you judge a book by it's cover."

(Might just be my favorite line from the book;))

I love the constant push and pull between these two. They want each other so much, but there is so much in between the lust in the present and the pain of the past they must work though.

Not to mention Faith can't put Sam's reputation behind her. She was burned once before, so she's very hesitant.

Sam grabbed ahold of my heart throughout this entire story. His struggle to prove he was more than what everyone thought/assumed was so good to see. The romantic gestures he did for Faith...the first date. Be still my heart!!

"When you look at me, you're afraid to step in the boat. But you don't have to be. I know you can't handle squalls and heavy winds, and I'd never risk losing the way you at me in those moments when you see past my reputation. I see flashes of clarity, and in the next breath you eyes cloud over and you put your life jacket on. You don't need a life jacket, Faith. I'll keep you afloat."

Good LAWD! I mean...come on!! Those words!!

I love Sam!! But I guess that means I love Melissa for writing such beautiful words!! <3

With every book that Melissa Foster writes, I find myself being placed into that town watching the story unfold in front of my eyes. It's a beautiful experience!

I also really love that this series has continued to showcase all the characters we know and love. Plus gives the opening for the future stories to come.

"You've got me, Sam. You can stop doing all these things for me and just be yourself."
"I think for the time in my life, that's exactly who I am."

Beautiful work, once again, Melissa!!

I cherish every Braden story that gets placed in my hands. I look very forward to the next installments to come!!

As for River of Love, Sam and Faith might be my favorite so far;)

"You're everything I never thought you were."
"You're everything I always knew you were."

Right before starting River of Love, I was teetering on the edge of a reading slump where I would try different books, but nothing would hold my attention. Because of this, it took me longer than normal to settle in with Sam and Faith. I can usually slide right into one of her books with no problem, but with the looming slump, this time it took a bit longer. It was my trust in Melissa's writing and characters that reassured me that it'll eventually click and it'll be smooth sailing from there. And, of course, once I got past the hurdle, I devoured the book like I always do. While I was reading River of Love it didn't take me long to pick the word trust as the word I felt best described the book. Trust is a reoccurring theme in many of Melissa's books, but it stood out more in River of Love. Trust in yourself... Trust in others... And trust in the ability to love... Woven throughout the book, these themes created an emotional romance between Sam and Faith, both wounded characters that have a difficult time believing in the power of love. For Sam, his transition comes much easier. A true Braden through and through... Once he decides to take that leap, he's in it for the long haul. Faith is a bit more hesitant. In her heart of hearts, she knows what Sam is capable of, but she's more afraid of allowing herself to be vulnerable and having her heart stomped on. Watching these two characters move towards each other as they learn to trust again was marvelous. If it wasn't so early in the morning, I might have shouted "Go for it, girl!" more than once. Like always, I was left with a smile on my face and a heart full of love for another Melissa Foster couple. I even spotted two potential new matches... Hint, hint Melissa... *wink*

I received an ARC copy in exchange for a honest review.

River of Love is the third book in Melissa Foster’s The Bradens - Peaceful Harbor, MD Series and it can be read as a standalone.

Sam Braden is a playboy, he's sexy, strong, determined and honest about the way he lives his life. He has a reputation of sleeping around and he enjoys his single life, but he knows something is off with him when he starts making up excuses to visit his brother's office, just to see Faith...

Faith is a sweet smart girl who has been hurt in the past and as a result, she founded an online support group: WAC (Women Against Cheaters). She dates boring, reliable, smart men because she thinks that's the only way she won't get hurt again. She's very much attracted to Sam and she's fighting their attraction not only because he's Cole's brother but also because she knows his reputation.

The player is usually the one who falls the hardest and Sam is no exception. As soon as he realizes he wants Faith not just for a night, he goes out of his way to get her to date her, to prove to her that he's much more than a playboy. Let me just add that the way he sets up their first date is EPIC! I loved it! I loved Sam, the fact that their sexual tension is through the roof and even though I didn't quite love Faith at first, the whole "judging a book by its cover" was a little annoying, I certainly understood her reasons.

Sam and Faith's chemistry is red hot, as their relationship develops they open up to each other and Sam slowly proves Faith that he's, in fact, a very sweet, romantic guy but will Faith be able to trust again? Can Sam really change his player ways?

Melissa Foster delivers an extra hot contemporary romance with relatable characters, an awesome united family and a sizzling chemistry. River of Love is a beautifully written love story and it's definitely a must read!

This is another absolutely beautiful story by Melissa Foster and one I enjoyed. We meet Sam Braden who is part of the Braden Family from Peaceful Harbor, he is the 2nd cousin to the Bradens from Western Colorado who we have met in some of the other books by Ms Foster. Sam runs the local River Rafting and Adventure Company and of course he is one hot sexy guy and of course that makes him very popular with the ladies. He work’s hard and plays even harder. We meet Faith Hayes, she is the Physician assistant and works with Sam’s brother. Sam want’s Faith, but she isn’t interested and his brother has told him to keep clear. Faith has had a tough life with men in the past, she’s been cheated on. She moved to Peaceful Harbor to escape her miserable life and has worked very hard to make her life happy. She has setup an online group to help support other women who have been cheated on called Women Against Cheaters. Sam pulls out all the stops and tries to get Faiths attention but she tries very very hard to resist her boss’s very sexy brother. She’s knows he’s a player and the type of guy she should stay clear of. Sam becomes determined to prove to Faith that he isn’t the guy she thinks he is. In the end it turns out that it is Faith that has something to prove to Sam. Will these two finally get together and make a go of it??? What will Faith’s Boss think when / if he finds out his brother is Dating his co-worker? Is Sam really a player? This is another beautifully written story by Ms Foster and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Melissa breaks the love mold again with Sam and Faith. By their very nature, they shouldn't be attracted to one another yet they find that staying away from one another is easier said that done. These two characters have so much depth to who they are that I was incredibly impressed! Sam is your typical player - he could blink and have women fall over at his feet - he's that sexy and charismatic! But what tugged at my heart strings was the fact that Sam was open to discussing his feelings. There is nothing sexier than a man who can be so strong and open in every aspect of his life!

Faith was guarded and your typical good girl. She was completely anti-player and used her support group, Women Against Cheaters (WAC) as a crutch. I was surprised that she even decided to give Sam a chance but that is when I took it to heart that when people click, they can't help the draw to one another. Their weaknesses turn out to be the very things that work for them!

After reading this one, I had to sit down and have one of those deep, soulful cries. I realized how we go through stages in our lives. At first, we come across as being selfish but we are young at this stage and simply trying to find who we are. We get to enter the second stage when we stop letting everyone else decide who we are based on their perceptions. In order to learn, we actually have to live and I think that Sam did just that. Faith happened to be one of the lessons for her ex but she took a lot from it so she could be ready for the time that Sam entered her life.

I'll admit, I'm a little biased when it comes to Melissa because I love everything of hers that I've ever put my hands on but she shocked me with this one! You won't be let down with "just another romance" book on this one!

*wink*

Can Sam overcome his reputation? Is Sam just going against his brother to go after Faith? These are some of the questions confronted by both Sam and Faith in River of Love. Sam has fallen for Faith and has to work hard (which is not his normal MO), to make sure Faith knows his lightbulb went off and she is it for him. Sam wants to make sure Faith understands how important she is to him by showing her "firsts" with a woman - first motorcycle ride and first time at his bar. The strength of family is truly shown in this book as Sam shows how much he respects his brother by ensuring Cole finds out about the two of them from Sam, because as we all know the only reason Sam visited his brothers office was to see Sam. Sam is a changed man and getting over his reputation is difficult but he slowly breaks down the walls erected by Faith one piece at a time - those places no woman has been before and by showing he is truly a good guy and what you see is what you get. You will fall in love with the tenacity and care Sam shows in making Faith see he is the one for her.

BJ Harrison does a great job narrating this novel, at times I felt like I could even "feel" Faith blushing with the way he narrated the novel. Once you get used to the nuance of his voice and delineating between narration and dialogue it will be smooth sailing on listening to the story. I felt that BJ did a great job in vocalizing the emotions of the characters. You will not be disappointed in listening to Faith and Sam's story!

River of Love is another classic Melissa Foster story, giving readers a perfect blend of everything you'd want in a romance. The prevalent them to me was the playboy finally settling down as he realizes he's found "the one".

Now honestly, I did feel like Sam's feelings for Faith were a bit insta-lovey, like it just slammed into him out of nowhere. But even so, once I got past that it was great to see him go totally all in. Even though he may have a bit of a reputation as a ladies' man, he's actually very caring and protective as well as thoughtful. Faith really makes him work for it with her, especially in the very beginning. I get that she's been hurt before, but I wasn't a fan of how she made assumptions about him--as he says, "you might miss out on a really great story if you judge a book by its cover".

I liked the flow of the story, and I was always engaged as I was reading. There's a great cast of supporting characters-I enjoyed seeing ones from the previous books again as it makes me feel like I'm slipping right back into a comfortable world as I'm reading. Although we do get to see these characters from the prior books in the series, River of Love could actually be read as a standalone without any problem.

This was a good, solid 4-star read for me, and I would recommend this for any contemporary romance fan 18+ (for adult language and sexual content). You really can't go wrong with a Melissa Foster title, as she proves yet again here in River of Love.

Sam Braden has always been a player, at least since he was 16. Unwilling to commit to one woman, he’s loved them all one or two at a time. Until Faith. Faith has been cheated on, so even though the attraction is strong, she wants nothing to do with Sam.

Sam doesn’t cheat. He’s actually a good guy with a big, well-deserved reputation. Can he earn Faith’s trust? Can he redeem himself enough to at least get her to go out with him? Can he stop playing the player and be true to himself?

Melissa Foster has written another Braden winner with the story of Sam and Faith. The character building is phenomenal, from the main characters all the way to the friends and family. Like life, the storyline is simple, yet complex. The characters seem real, and the redemption isn’t too easy. Sam and Faith – names to remember.

I literally just finished reading Sam and Faith's story. As usual, no complaints and I loved it! Any time I get to spend with a Braden is time well spent. I know I'll never be disappointed but will always be surprised.

Sam Braden has the reputation of being a player. He's always thoughful and even a gentleman, but he's a player nonetheless. When it comes to wooing Faith though, Sam has to put his best foot forward. His past is getting in the way and leaving Faith a little less than enthusiastic about being pursued by Sam. He's always had a thing for her, and vice versa, but Faith never thought it would be possible that he would be interested in her.

Faith works as a physician's assistant in Cole's office. Cole is Sam's brother and has warned him not to play around with his employee. He doesn't think things will end well. Sam is intent on proving everyone wrong and winning Faith's trust. Sam's tactics at winning Faith's attention had me swooning in my chair! I loved his imagination and found myself cheering him on!

River of Love is a truly heartfelt story. I loved every minute of it and know that other readers will too!

Sam Braden may not have always been my favorite Braden but from the beginning, I thought everyone else gave him a raw deal. Yes, he could be labeled a player. Yes, he had slept with a lot of different women. Never, though - at least from what I have read - did he lead any of these women to believe they would have more from him than sex.

Faith may need more than what Sam has to offer. She has been cheated on before and doesn't want that to happen again. Who can blame her?

We all look at life through our own experiences. Sam didn't see the problem with what he had been doing because he was always upfront with the women. Then, his brother, Faith's employer, warned him off her. Cole basically told Sam that Faith was off limits.

I laughed because my gut instinct was not good. If I were Faith, I would have told my boss I could take care of myself and who I date or do not date was not his business. Faith isn't that way. How the relationship between Faith and Sam grows and what it grows into is intriguing.

Pick up this book to find out how Sam and Faith decide what they will mean to each other.

Being book #15 in the Love in Bloom Series (book #3 of the Braden's at Peaceful Harbor branch), one would think that the series would get old. Instead, Melissa Foster has managed to create a new couple with characters that are both realistic and unique.

Sam Braden has a reputation as being a playboy around town while Faith Hayes has been hurt by a cheating boyfriend in the past. He wants nothing more than to have a chance to prove that he's more than his reputation; she's reluctant to get involved with someone with a reputation like Sam's. Sam worked hard to prove to Faith that she meant more to him than a quick hookup, and even Faith's jaded best friend, Vivian softened her opinion of him.

As always, there are appearances from other Braden's, and it's always nice to see them again.

If you haven't read the previous books in the series, don't worry; you can read this as a standalone. It does work a little better if you've read the previous books so you know the characters that are mentioned, but it's not necessarily a requirement.

This was a great addition to the series and a definite must-read for those who enjoy the Love in Bloom series.

Sam has a certain reputation with the ladies, and that is the last thing that Faith wants in a man since she was cheated on once. But Sam is not a cheater, he just doesn't do relationship since his heart was broken at the tender age of 16, and is completely honest about his lack of commitment. Of course, the women he hooks up with are only looking for a good time from his as well. It takes some time and a bit of effort from Sam to convince Faith to take a chance on him, but she finally does. She learns to not judge a book by its cover and discovers a whole new side to Sam. Sam has never felt about a woman the way he feels about Faith, and once he figures out that he actually wants to have a relationship with Faith that involves more than just casual sex, he does everything in his power to show her that he is a changed man and that he only has eyes for her. Loved these two together and the way they brought out the best in each other. I'm loving the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor and can't wait for the next book!

Sam Braden has a reputation as a "ladies man". At sixteen, he had a experience with his first girlfriend that left him jaded about relationships. As a grown man, he has been unwilling/uninterested in getting involved with any woman beyond the superficial. His reputation is well known, and even his family members doubt his ability to get beyond his first heart break.

Faith Hayes has had her own relationship heartbreak. Even her best friend tries to steer her away from him. Faith has founded an organization for women who have been victims of cheaters. She sees Sam as a cheater, but is he?? She is attracted to him, but his reputation is something she cannot escape. And, she works for his brother Cole which makes things even more difficult.

The attraction between these two is undeniable. Ultimately, Sam decides that he wants this woman, and that he is ready to put his past behind him. He wants to be with her in a loving relationship, but will Faith let him show her his heart? Will she let him show her that he can change?

Their path to love is complicated and sweet. This is another good read with characters you can't help but root for.

Thank you, Melissa!

In this 3rd book of The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor series, Melissa Foster continues to weave a magical story of a close knit family living life to it's fullest and finding love along the way! This time it's Sam Braden who gets bowled over by a beautiful woman catching his eye.

Sam is the ultimate ladies man! He is a hot, handsome hunk of a man and is never hurting for female companionship. He works hard at the rafting and adventure company that he owns, and he plays even harder. He's not looking for anything in life but to have a good time.

Faith Hayes is fairly new to town and is enjoying working for Sam's brother Cole and his partner as their Physician's Assistant. She also works hard to help others through a support group that she started after her life plans disintegrated in front of her.

When Sam can't seem to get Faith out of his thoughts, he decides to campaign for a date. She shuts him down quicker than he can turn around, but he's persistent and eventually makes her see that he's not the dog she thinks he is. Can he gain her trust enough to actually make that relationship that he never knew he wanted work out?

What fun Melissa has given us. B. J. Harrison narrated the audiobook and it was perfection!
Sam Braden was the owner of Rough Riders Rafting Company. He saw Faith in a bar. She worked in his brothers medical practice as a PA. He thought that he shouldn't be thinking of laying her down on the bar and having his way with her. He had been banging every woman that caught his eye, but Faith was what he really wanted. He went over to her and asked her to dance and she turned him down and went out the door. The next day Faith headed up a car wash to benefit a group called Women Against Cheaters and Sam showed up there. He took off his shirt and started helping. His body could make a blind girl weep! Faith refused to be a swoon for Sam Braden girl, then the battle was on!

Sam and Faith. Ahhhhh. This was such a phenomenal read.

Faith has been hurt badly by a man in the past...so badly that she now runs a website for women who have been cheated on. Sam is a playboy of the first order. He doesn't commit. It's not his thing. Ever. But when Faith came to town and started working for his brother, he found himself interested in someone for the long haul. But Faith wasn't ready and his brother warned him off. At his brother Cole's wedding something finally fell in to place and Sam knew it was time to start pursuing Faith. And he did. Firmly but sweetly. He won her over but he also won her trust...which was so much more important. All along the way, Faith's inner voice (and that of her best friend) kept pulling her back to the what-ifs. But Sam was persistent and he knew that he needed patience most of all. When Faith's ex (the damn cheater) ends up at Sam's company event, will it derail all of Sam's hard work and the love he has poured in to his relationship with Faith?

Even if you haven't read any of the other Braden books, read this one. Sam and Faith's story just touched my heart from beginning to end

My favorite book boyfriend now! So we met Sam and Faith in Surrender my Love. Sam is Cole's younger brother and Faith is Cole's PA that works at his clinic with him.

Ever since he met Faith, something clicked. He knew she was different somehow. Every time he went to visit his brother at work, he would always say hello which would cause her to stutter and get really nervous. He liked pushing her buttons.

Faith is a PA who works with Cole. Every time his sexy brother Sam comes to visit, she gets so nervous, she can't talk. Finally, at Cole's wedding he asks her to dance and she says...no! No one is more shocked than Sam. She doesn't want to be another "notch" on his belt or just another girl to him. She has been hurt in the past and doesn't want that again. After being turn down by her, Sam wants to change...to be the man Faith deserves. He wants to prove it to her that he can be that man. What we get is one of the most romantic, loyal, sexy story yet. Sam is determined to show everyone the new Sam Braden...but will his past come back to bite him? Can Faith learn to trust? I think is her best one yet! Thank you Melissa!

Another excellent book from Melissa Foster!!!

Sam Braden is the adventure seeking owner of Rough Riders. He doesn't do commitment and has a reputation around town as a playboy. Faith is a Physician's Assistant at Sam's brother Cole's doctors office. She has been hurt in the past and is very guarded around men. After being cheated on by her ex boyfriend, she started the online forum Women Against Cheaters (WAC). She knows Sam is the kind of man she should stay away from. When he shows up at a fundraising car wash for WAC and starts helping out, Faith begins to wonder if she was wrong about him. As she starts to spend more time with him, she starts to see the real Sam and sees that he's not the man she thought.

As with the rest of the Braden books, family plays a major role in Sam's life. This book is a little spicier than other's in the Braden world, but still has everything you would expect from a Melissa Foster book. Large, loving families, sexy and caring heroes, and strong heroines are all present.

Faith and Sam will reel you in from page 1 and keep you entertained til the end.

MY THOUGHTS: Faith Hayes is a medical assistance in Peaceful Harbor and is the creator for the Women Against Cheaters group, which supports women who have been through rough patches. Sam Braden is the brother of Cole, Faith's boss, and owner of the adventure company Rough Riders. Making regular visits to his brother's office as an excuse to see Faith, he has been warned not to toy with Faith's heart.

There is an undeniable attraction between Faith and Sam and his efforts to pursue Faith and prove that he is more than his reputation, despite the push back that he receives. Faith is determined to protect her heart and turns down Sam, not wanting to be another notch is Sam's belt.

At every turn, Faith is surprised about what she learns about Sam, but will it be enough for her to give her heart to Sam? If you want a book that will make you laugh, smile, gasp, and pine for a relationship that is as hot as Sam and Faith's, pick up this book today. The story of Sam and Faith, for me, is the best from Melissa Foster that I've read to date.

As with all Melissa Foster books, this one is fabulous. Sam is super hot, and he's the kind of guy that you just have to wonder about, because of his reputation of being the town PlayBoy! He's never settled down before, and hasn't really ever thought about it, until Faith. When he met her, he couldn't get her out of his head. It kind of seemed a bit stalkerish to me, but you could totally tell he was trying, and was being completely sincere!

Faith had some reservations, which made sense to me due to a previous boyfriend cheating on her. She has made an online forum called Women against Cheaters Group, which she throws herself into whole heartedly. I think Sam really woo'ed Faith when he made a HUGE donation to her group and started helping her by taking her to a lawyer to talk over all of the technicalities of it.

There was this HUGE plot twist that comes along with all of Melissa's books, but holy crap, I was NOT expecting this one at all! I'm glad things worked out for Sam and Faith though!!

I LOVE Melissa Foster's style of writing, her characters, and the way she brings everything together in one huge explosion of emotion, passion, and real life insecurities. Outstanding read with amazing, true to life characters with real, honest to God fears just like the rest of us, who must face the consequences of their actions and past behavior, same as you and me. I loved Sam Braden, the hot, funny playboy who realizes he's been living an empty life and wants more with the one woman who wants nothing to do with his man whore ways or reputation. Faith has been hurt by cheating men, and judges harshly. Can she see past Sam's former indiscretions to the loyal, caring man underneath? Lots of angst, forgiveness, drama, and soul searching!

I absolutely loved Sam and Faith's story! I appreciated Faith's hesitation at getting involved with Peaceful Harbor's resident manwhore. lol She had been burned before, and she wasn't looking for a repeat of the experience. But, just like the other Braden men with their ladies, once Sam set his heart on Faith, there was no way he wasn't going to win her over. And, much like Faith, I found Sam convincing me page by page that a leopard can change its spots. As always, Melissa Foster does a great job of mixing romance and heat. I would love to go on that kind of camping trip! And of course, it wouldn't be an MF book without family playing an integral part of the story. I will say, however, that Cole's negativity toward his brother bothered me. I get that he cared about Faith and didn't want her to get hurt, but I found his behavior a little overbearing. I don't know that I would have been as forgiving as Sam. Another fantastic read by Melissa Foster!

Sam Braden loves women. The adventure company owner has a well deserved reputation of being a one time kind of guy. Lately though, the idea of sleeping around has been loosing it’s appeal and Sam blames that on the beautiful Faith Hayes. Faith, a physician’s assistant who works for Sam’s brother, has been burned in the past by a cheating boyfriend. She channeled that hurt into something positive by forming Women Against Cheaters, an online support forum. So when Sam begins to pursue Faith, she is naturally skeptical about his ability to commit. As the sparks fly and things heat up, will Faith be able to trust Sam with her heart?
This book initially started out a little slow for me. It took a few chapters for me to sort out the characters and get into the story. Once I got into it, I couldn’t put this book down.
Sam makes excellent book boyfriend material. He is smart, sexy, and a successful business owner. His patient wooing of Faith though is what won me over. Their first official date was so sweet and romantic. He never scoffed at Faith’s insecurities but instead proved why she could trust him.
I loved how Faith didn’t turn into a bitter scorned woman after she caught her ex cheating on her. Instead she used that hurt and turned it into something good with her support group. Faith truly wants to make a difference in her professional and private life.
In River of Love, Melissa Foster has written another fantastic contemporary romance. The chemistry between Faith and Sam is tangible from their first interaction. The book features a realistic story line, with great characters and a satisfying ending that will have readers wishing the book wasn’t over. Readers who love contemporary romance will definitely want to read this new release.

This book was amazing but yet every book that Melissa writes seems to get better the further you get in to them.

Sam Braden is a fun loving, live in the moment guy but there has been one person who he has always had a crush on and can never seem to get close enough too.

Faith has been hurt before and will not go through that again, until she meets Sam and she start to let her walls down, very slowly and with lots of work put in to that from Sam....soon they are together and both of them are loving life and the new found passion in each other until someone from Faiths past shows up and causes a few problem but it is nothing that love can not conquer.

This the 3rd book in the Peaceful Harbour series and it does not disappoint at all, I will say if you have not read any other of her novels then do yourself a favour and read them...you can read this book as a stand alone novel but I highly recommend to read the other in the series.

Can not wait for the next novel.

I love everything I read by Melissa Foster! Another great book! Sam Braden has always lived in the now, never wanting to get attached to a woman Faith has been cheated on in the past and is looking for a man who is the opposite of Sam. Sam sets out of prove that you can't always judge a book by its cover. Faith has a hard time believing that Sam is being truthful. She thinks he is just out to make her another notch in his belt. She is surprised to find that maybe Sam really has changed and that he wants more in her than just a sexual fling. The love scenes are hot and very steamy. This is a great book with a great happily ever after. Looking forward to Ms. Foster's next book.

Faith is a dedicated, sweet, caring Physician's Assistant who works for Cole Braden in his medical practice. Cole feels protective of Faith and makes it clear that she is off limits to his womanizing brother Sam. So of course Sam can't seem to stay away. At first the challenge of forbidden fruit beckons Sam, but as you get to know him you realize Faith is more than a hook-up to him and wants her to give him a chance to prove he's more than his reputation.

Faith has founded an online support group Women Against Cheaters after being cheated on by her former boyfriend. She can't help but judge Sam by his well-earned reputation and sees Sam as exactly the kind of guy to steer clear of, but her attraction to him won't go away.

It was easy for me to put myself in Faith's place and ask myself all the same questions. How do you go anywhere locally and not wonder how many of the women you come across have already been with Sam? Would the green monster drive you crazy? Waould it be worth the effort?

But this is Melissa Foster we're talking about and the depth of her characters make them real in every sense of the word. Why is Sam a playboy? Is it fair for Faith to look at most men as potential cheaters? Once Sam convinces Faith to go on one date, to do something with her he's never done with anyone else, the real Sam is beyond appealing. He works hard to show her not to judge a book by its cover. As the layers of each character are revealed you find yourself rooting for Sam and Faith and the absolute sweetness of their relationship! I absolutely loved their story, enough to read it again as soon as it ended!

Sam redeems himself in so many ways and the patience and love and thoughtfulness make him a total swoonworthy hero in every sense of the word! A Must Read!

I enjoyed reading Sam and Faith's love story. Sam known to be a womanizer in the past and Faith is careful not to be a part of his charms. This book is one of a kind. It is funny. I giggled many times. It keeps you breathless. The connection of these two is undeniable. Despite Faith holding up her feelings, her body cannot resist Sam's charm. This guy will do anything extra ordinary to make Faith believes that he is different and will treat her perfectly as she wants to be treated.

The story is so sweet, inspirational and will make you fall in-love again. Ms. Melissa Foster will blown your mind away in this book River Of Love. I loved this book so much. The story is different and unique. I highly recommends it to everybody who wants to read amazing book from this author.
