Even though The Remingtons continues the story line of Love In Bloom, this one is easily read as stand alone.
Ellie and Dex's story is different than the others. Yes, there is still steamy romance, and big family connection. But it is darker, angst filled, moves very slow because every time they take a step forward with their issues, they take 2 steps back.
For the first time with Melissa Foster's book I didn't stay up at night to find out what will happen, I just couldn't connect that way with the very attractive alpha male and strong, stubborn, independent heroine. The story was missing the 'oomph' factor.
But I will continue with the series.

I really enjoyed reading this. Interesting characters with good story development. I like how they took a chance on the unknown and I really interested with how the rest of the Remingtons got their love stories.

I enjoyed this story, the writing and the characters. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know what happened next & I was definitely rooting for their love to win. I've read Melissa Foster's work before and found her story lines captivating and enjoyable.

“Wherever I go and whatever I do, something always falls apart. Look at when I came to New York. I’m here less than a day and my friend abandons me, I wake up looking at some strange man’s junk, and then my purse gets stolen. That stuff doesn’t happen to anyone else that I know. I’m like black-cloud Ellie.”
The hero is a millionaire video game inventor with the patience of a saint. All in all, this is a forgettable quick read.
In fairness to the author, there seem to be a number of reviewers bashing the book for language and a few sex scenes. When you look at their other reviews, it seems to be a hobby for these readers to give low ratings to any story with swear words or sex. Given that there is a whole sanitized Christian genre, it seems odd that some people seem to go looking to be offended. This is far from erotica.
