Many of our most defining moments are born of heartache and pain. What makes them prolific is that those instances are when a person is at their strongest. Ms. Foster never seems to forget that and it shows within her stories. In the face of loss, adversity and uncertainty, she inspires. Only for You is a tale of fearlessness. Bridgette is afraid of being left behind. Bodhi is a loner. His career has made him that way. A dangerous lifestyle leaves no room for a heart, when he'll only end up breaking someone else's in the long run. How does a person learn not to fear life, when hurt is their constant companion? With a little bit of hope, a whole lot of faith and an abundance of love, anything is possible. That's what's so special about this author. She pushes readers to open their hearts and believe in the impossible. Love has no boundaries.

Sweetness abounds in the second installment of the Sugar Lake series, which was fitting given the name of the town in which the story took place. The story was not only sweet; it was heart-warming, funny and entertaining. I got my first glimpse of the main characters in the first book and could not wait to dive into their story and it sure was worth every waiting moment. Only for You tells the story of a single mom and the man who made her realise falling in love the second time around can be as good and exciting as the first.
Bridgette Dalton returned to Sweetwater to raise her five-year-old son after the death of her husband. Focused on raising her son and operating her flower shop, The Secret Garden, she had no time for romance. However, her hot and sexy neighbour has her thinking maybe pursuing a no strings relationship was not such a bad thing.
Bodhi Booker came to Sweetwater to renovate the house he purchased for his mom. As a covert operations specialist he never saw it fit to make a commitment of forever to a woman. He felt he had nothing to offer a woman. This was due to the dangers of his job. He never counted on meeting the beautiful young widow who would have him rethinking his position about relationships.
From the moment they met sparks flew, and their unexpected attraction had them both tied up in knots. They tried fighting their attraction; however, after weeks of struggling with their feelings for each other they became involved in a no strings relationship with no expectations of permanency. However, love is not an emotion one can dictate, as Bridgette and Bodhi will come to realise.
I found Bridgette to be a relatable character. I admired her independence, strength and determination. With Bridgette what you see is what you get. She was real, and she remained true to herself throughout the story. I understood her reluctance to get involved in a relationship. Having suffered pain from the loss of her husband, no one could fault her for not wanting to risk her heart again. Her son, Louie was her priority so relationships were a big no-no. She took her role as a mother serious and everything she did was done with Louie in mind.
Ms. Foster has created some amazing heroes, but Bodhi is my favourite by far. If it were possible for me to create the perfect man, Bodhi would be my template. He is hot, sexy, romantic and considerate. He is brooding, which made him even more appealing. He runs a charity for military heroes and their families. Seeing the way he treats both Bridgette and her son made my heart swoon. I can imagine the warm and fuzzy feelings Bridgette must have experience seeing this hot and sexy guy looking out not only for her but also for her son’s best interest. He is definitely a keeper. Did I mention he reads romance novels? Be still my heart.
I loved them as a couple. I became invested in their relationship and hoped they would work things out so they could be together forever instead of now and here.
Interaction between the characters was dramatic, entertaining and heart-warming. I loved all the characters but the one who owned a piece of my heart was Louie. Sweet, adorable and innocent in his mannerisms, he will worm his way into your heart.
I enjoyed this story, but I had issues. The issue I had relates Bodhi’s career, the mission he went on and the aftermath of said mission. The fact that his career played heavily in his decision to avoid long-term relationships, I expected it to be featured more in the plot. Instead it was glossed over. Furthermore, the problems arising from his career, which proved a hindrance was resolved quickly and easily. Regarding the mission, I was hoping for more details, especially as it relates to his final decision.
Conclusion/Recommendation

4.25 stars--ONLY FOR YOU is the second instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult SUGAR LAKE romance series focusing on the men and women of Sweetwater, New York. This is single mom and florist Bridgette Dalton, and former Special Forces soldier Bodhi Booker’s story line. ONLY FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. We were first introduced to Bridgette in Wild Boys After Dark: Logan. SUGAR LAKE is a spin off, and interconnected with a number of Melissa Foster’s other series.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Bodhi and Bridgette) ONLY FOR YOU follows the building relationship between former Special Forces soldier Bodhi Booker, and single mom/widow/florist Bridgette Dalton. Bodhi Booker doesn’t do relationships but meeting his mother’s future next door neighbor finds our hero in all kinds of trouble as he feels himself pulled into the orbit of single mom Bridgette Dalton, and her five year old son Louie. Only two weeks away from his next ‘military’ training Bodhi struggles with his attraction to Bridgette knowing their time together has a deadline. But the heart wants what the heart wants and Bodhi will soon lose his heart to Bridgette and her five year old son. What ensues is the growing love between Bodhi and Bridgette, and the potential fall out as Bodhi says good bye to the woman he loves.
The relationship between Bodhi and Bridgette is temporary; a mutual decision based on previous loss, and potential heartbreak. Bodhi struggled as he watched his mother lose the man that she loved, and our hero refuses to place Bridgette on the slippery slope of a military man’s wife. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate (without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text) as Bodhi and Bridgette will fall in love knowing their will be no happily ever after for either one.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Bridgette’s son Louie, her sisters Piper, Talia, Willow, and Willow’s fiancé Zane (The Real Thing #1), their brother Benjamin, and their parents Roxie and Dan Dalton. WE are introduced to Bodhi’s mother Alisha Booker, his friend Aurelia, his accountant Shira, and Bodhi’s lovable Great Dane Dahlia. Melissa has plans for all of Bridgette’s siblings.
ONLY FOR YOU is an emotional story line. As Bodhi heads to places unknown Bridgette knows she may never again see or speak to the man that she loves therefore kissing him goodbye is probably her last. The premise is wonderful and heart warming; the characters are colorful, energetic and fun; the romance is captivating and sensual. Melissa Foster takes the reader through the ups and downs of a small town romance with big city heart !

I really enjoyed The Real Thing, the first book in the Sugar Lake series so picking this one up was no effort at all as I'm blown away by Bridgette and Bodhi's emotional journey to a Happy Ever After.
Bridgette Dalton, a single mum and owner of the flower shop in Sweetwater has little time for herself after working and caring for her young son. When, someone new moves into the house next to her, she can't help but notice the handsome man…Her family are supportive and suggest she starts looking for someone new since five years have passed since her husband died. Only, the new neighbour is only around temporarily and she doesn't want her son to become attached to him before he leaves for good.
Taking a break from his job as a special operative, Bodhi Booker is using the time to fix up the house he's bought his mother in Sweetwater. The next door neighbour is a woman he'd like to get to know more intimately, but with his departure looming shortly, anything more than a fling isn't possible because he's seen first hand the upset and devastation families face when a loved one doesn't come home. Something he's not prepared to do himself.
Bridgette and Bodhi's story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking in equal measures, including times of pure happiness as well as incredible sadness as the pair decide to 'live for the moment'. It's a refreshing, yet emotional journey they make, naively believing they can walk away and continue their lives when Bodhi leaves.
I'm not a fan of children in adult books but Louie is an integral and sweet addition and Bodhi's interaction with him melts your heart as well as his own.
Like a master magician, Melissa Foster always manages to bring something new to her writing with every novel she publishes and Only For You is no exception. She draws you into the narrative with multi-faceted protagonists so it's easy to become invested in their lives. Both Bridgette and Bodhi are adorable and relatable in their own way, showing courage and compassion when making difficult decisions concerning real-life issues. All this wrapped around a cosy and welcoming small town setting with well developed and lovable secondary characters.
This, like The Real Thing, is a standalone novel. If you are unfamiliar with the author's books, These Sugar Lake novels are a fabulous place to start.

Bridgette Dalton is a business owner, widow and single mom to an adorable fun year old. She’s always on the go and even thinking about dating or having free time is laughable. However, catching a few sneak peeks at her hunky new neighbor is another story.
Bodhi Booker is ex special forces and current black ops. His lives his life moving from one dangerous situation to the next. He has no room for relationships or connections because he can’t ever guarantee he’s coming home from whatever mission he is sent on. He’s always been okay with love them and leave them flings, until he runs into Bridgette and Louis. For the first time in his life he is thinking there may be more to life than his job.
When Bodhi and Bridgette agree to explore their passions with a no-strings attached fling, they never expect how quickly their feelings take off and turn into so much more. Their “here and now” relationship has an expiration date of only 2 weeks, but their hearts didn’t get the memo. Will they be strong enough to let one another go to avoid the possibility of heartache caused by Bodhi’s dangerous job or will they find a way to use their newfound love to forge a relationship stronger than the fears of what may come if they stay together.
Only for You really gave me all the feels! I laughed, I cried (seriously, make sure you have tissues handy when reading) I felt hope and love and despair . . . it’s truly a beautiful emotional roller-coaster, just lie real life!
Bridgette has been deeply hurt in the past, and being the wonderful mom she is places her child’s well being before her own needs and wants. She is smitten with Bodhi but has to be cautious in not only protecting her heart, but her son’s as well.
Bodhi is all alpha. He’s sexy and protective and has a hidden romantic side that could make any woman swoon. He immediately connects with Bridgette as well as her son and treats the little guy with such care and caution it’s enough to melt your heart!
The plot moves along at a great pace, showcasing just how hard and fast Bodhi and Bridgette fall for one another. Their secret interactions and conversations are gorgeous. Their time spent with Louie is adorable to read. Bridgette and Bodhi’s family are a strong cast of secondary characters in this book, as is Bodhi’s dog Dahlia. The connections and banter between everyone is written so genuinely that it was easy to become immersed in this story and feel every emotion the characters go through as it happens (hence the box of tissues).
Maybe it’s because I was a military spouse whose husband deployed that I was able to identify as closely with the emotional roller coaster of love and lust and fear and denial that Bridgette and Bodhi both go through. Living every moment together as it could be your last really shows how much those little moments we all take for granted count. Melissa Foster does a truly amazing job of showcasing this in Only For You. It’s an amazing journey that should not be passed by if you are looking for a heartfelt read. 5 stars!

I loved getting to know Bridgette and Bodhi. Foster really is talented so everything she does just keeps you glued to the pages. Bodhi is a great guy – very honorable (and hot) and has a big heart (and hot) and has a lot of love to give (did I mention, hot? Inside and out, people!) He’s chosen to give up having a full life to protect others and he’s darn good at his job. He has purpose and he’s dedicated to that purpose, without hesitation. Until he meets Bridgette.
Bridgette is a wonderful single mom. She was a wild child once but after the birth of her son and the death of her husband she did a little growing. And maybe some suppressing too. But meeting Bodhi helps her remember a bit more of the girl she used to be and to find a way to fit her into her life now.
I’ll be honest, though – I enjoyed the book but nearly as much as The Real Thing. It’s a good setup and there is no denying that Foster has some serious skills as a writer. It’s just that it seemed like Bodhi and Bridgette’s story was just a bit too long. Their only real issue is Bodhi’s job and his not wanting to leave anyone at home worrying about him. Which is SO understandable … buuut without any other problems there isn’t anything else there to keep things moving so we keep coming back to the same thing – he can only give her now because he can’t promise he’ll be there tomorrow. It’s difficult and emotional, and it lingers there waiting for us when his time with Bridgette is over. I felt so bad for them and Foster’s resolution is pretty darn good, but it didn’t help with the sense of waiting for me. Although maybe that is good too, because it gives you just a taste of what it was like Bridgette and Bodhi?
*** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

The second in Melissa Fosters’ Sugar Lake series lives up to all the promise of a sweet and sultry “insta” read. The attraction between Bodhi and neighbor Bridgette is instantaneous, but the journey to love is a bit slower. Both Bodhi and Bridgette have reservations about romantic entanglements and approach their relationship knowing they have an expiration date. This is supposed to protect their hearts, but emotions have a way of developing against their wishes.
Inspired by single mother Bridgette and her young son, Melissa Fosters writing is introspective and especially poetic. Early on, we learn about Bridgette’s standing as a single mother and just how she came to this place in her life. ” She’d gardened her broken heart out, creating lush, bountiful flower beds throughout the property, full of new life that needed nurturing and could not be ignored. Louie gave her purpose.” Her son is rightly the center of the universe, but with Bodhi pushing his way into her life, she finds her resolve crumbling. And who could blame her? Bodhi is an enigma. This tough as nails, special ops, handy man, he has good reason to keep Bridgette and Louie at arms length, but there is something in this little family that calls to his soul, and it’s not long before he’s breaking all the rules that he sets. He’s just so charming and I love the way he treats Bridgette and Louie. There is one thing that made him completely endearing, and that is the fact that he is a romance reader. Yes, a man who reads the same type romance novels you or I read. He’s perfect!
I adore Melissa’s writing. The characters are always well rounded, with distinct dialogue for her characters’ voices. Only For You is a lively and well paced story that made this a one sitting read. 4 Stars and once again, I find myself recommending a Melisa Foster book!

There truly isn't anything much better than a quick read with just the right amount of angst, heat and a happily ever after. Melissa Foster's latest installment in the Sugar Lake series delivers all of the above. Only for You is about what happens when your best intentions get waylaid by your heart's desire.
Bodhi Booker is only in town to get the house he bought for his mom ready for her. He has just a few weeks to make some basic renovations and then it's back to work as a special operative working in search and rescue. Even though he's technically off of work to finish getting his mom's house ready, he could be called out at any time for a mission. His lifestyle is one that doesn't allow for roots to grow or relationships to take hold, and he likes it that way. His next mission could be his last. He certainly can't be bothered by the woman next door.
Bridgette Dalton does not have time for anything. She can barely close her flower shop on time to pick up her son and feed him dinner. She hasn't had a relationship with a man since her husband died when her son was just a baby. She hasn't had the time or desire to head back into the relationship world. That doesn't mean that she hasn't noticed the hot guy working on the house next door! The first time they meet is truly a catastrophe, but that doesn't mean sparks don't fly. Bridgette and Bodhi make the very adult decision to enjoy each other for whatever time they have. Neither one of them counted on their lust for the other getting shoved aside by their hearts.
Only for You was the kind of book you read when you want to get out of your head and lose yourself in someone else's story. The setting and the supporting characters are easy to see and relate to. I kind of want to go to the Peach Festival, no joke! I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series. I wonder whose story Melissa Foster

“She was torture and pleasure, sweet and sinful, and he never wanted to let her go.”
“His mouth was like an ocean of heat and desire, and she wanted to sail away to the far reaches of the world and disappear into it.”
“You came out of nowhere, and suddenly you’re all that I see.”
This book was absolute perfection. Sweet, swoon-worthy with just the right amount of angst. Only For You had me hooked from the very first page. Bridgette and Bodhi were impossible to not fall for. There is nothing I love more than a romance that hits you when you’re least expecting it and it turns your whole world upside down.
I admired Bridgette for doing it all on her own and being the best mom she could be to her son Louie. She was hard-working and so loving, but just needed to remember how to live and how to a woman again. Bodhi was just the distraction she needed. The sparks between the two of them were immediate, but Bodhi’s walls were higher than ever. He never wanted to let anyone in and never wanted to make promises he couldn’t keep. However, Bridgette might just be the one to make him break all of his rules…..
Only For You was a terrific read from beginning to end. Bodhi and Bridgette’s story captivated me and made me fall in love. I devoured this book in just one sitting and couldn’t help but fall in love with this story. Only For You is incredibly well written and is filled with lots of heart. I loved Bodhi’s rough exterior and seeing him break down his walls. I loved seeing Bridgette come alive again and take a second chance on love.
Only For You hit all the marks for me. This story made me laugh. It made me swoon. It pulled at my heart. And most of all, it made me fall in love.

What an amazing book! It has everything I love in a romance….steam but yet sweet, and it definitely pulled at my heartstings!
Bridgette is an amazing mother. She has had to be mother and father to her young son, Louie, after her husband died years ago. She has a great support group of family and friends, but she hasn’t found love again and doesn’t think she ever will. She is one tough cookie. She has worked hard to create a loving, warm life for Louie. However, she is lonely. She isn’t looking for a relationship but a distraction, and her sexy neighbor, Bodhi, might just fit the bill.
Bodhi is the whole package…sexy, sweet, intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. Not many women could resist him. Like Bridgette, he isn’t looking for a relationship either. He doesn’t hide that fact either. The chemistry between these two sizzles, and they believe a casual affair will work perfectly for them. As they spend more time together, and Louie seems to become more attached to Bodhi, things get complicated. This is the point that Bodhi and Bridgette have to decide if they can put their fears aside and make their own HEA.
I loved the characters, even the secondary ones, and as you can imagine, I adored little Louie. He could melt anyone’s heart. They added a deeper level to the book, and as always Foster writes with such emotion, I couldn’t help but be under Melissa Foster’s spell. Waiting for the next one in the series!

MY REVIEW:
OMG All of the promotional hype for this book did not give justice to Bodhi Booker!
First of all, I love this series. Sugarlake, though a fictional little town, sounds like just the place I'd like to live. The people within the town, seem kind, wonderful, have your back type of folks, not that my neighbors aren't the same.
There is something about the Dalton family, whether it is the fact that there are four girls and one brother which draws me, or just thinking of how much teasing brother Ben Dalton must have lived through with four sisters before he, Zane and their friends escaped the female influence. While I know there are more books to come, this is ranking as my all-time favorite book by Melissa Foster. I want to find a real Bodhi Booker of my own.
The last thing widow, Bridgette Dalton wanted in her life was a man. Especially not with an impressionable pre-kindergartner soaking up everything the giant of a man and his dog, Dahlia did for them. But the heart wants what the heart wants and denying their attraction was a no go for both of them. When the kissing started, they were both a lost cause to their passion.
I loved each aww factor Foster inserted into the book and I think one of my favorite sections is where Bodhi sends Bridge flowers with a special meaning for just the two of them.
This is by no means an easy HEA book. Booker has issues he works through. Bridge has her son to protect, but when they get together, FIREWORKS ensue!

This is such a heartfelt romance of the enth degree. It was so great and inspiring from a single moms perspective for a second chance at love. When Bridgette tries to keep life together for her and her son, little does she know that around the corner life will be topsy turvy as love sneaks in between the sheets. As for Bodhi, he's a hunka hunka alpha dream that is in town for a short time with a temporary fling in mind, when he sets his sights on Bridgette. These two come together in the most honest and true way. There were so many moments that I truly felt the emotion of the story and could feel it played out in front of me. This series has been such a great read I look forward for more to come. Sugar Lake is where it's at. Brava Melissa you did it again.

This story is great, plot thick, and characters feel alive. I am sure these people are living in this world. John Lane narrated the audiobook and he kept me with the characters.
Bridgette Dalton had lost her husband five years ago and had a young son, Louis. She owned a flower shop called The Secret Garden in Sweet Water, NY. Her next door neighbor was Bodhi Booker and sexy as sin. He was a rescue specialist and only there to fix up his mothers house. He lived in NYC. They had secretly lusted after each other. When they finally got together, it sent off rockets like the forth of July. A good book makes you want to live in the story. A great book gives you no choice. I had no choice!

Only for You by Melissa Foster
“Love finds you no matter if your ready or not, 5 stars”
Bridgette knows loss. She lost her husband years ago when her son was a baby. Over time she has accepted it and moved on, trying to best mother she can be. Bridgette is focused on her business, son, and family, she has no time for a man. She hasn’t felt the desire to even be with one since her husband, which worries her family. She used to be full of life and mischief and now she’s hyper focused. Until Bodhi.
Bodhi only came to Sweetwater to fix up the house he bought for his mother. Thanks to a reliable source pointing him in the direction of the quiet little town he now knows his mother has a place to retire. At first, he sees Bridgette at the bakery, and he’s intrigued. As luck would have it she’s his mothers new neighbor. When he finds out she has a son thing’s change. Not because he doesn’t like kids but because he lives a complicated life and doesn’t want to hurt Bridgette or her son. But sometimes the best laid plans don’t stick, you can’t stop fate.
I absolutely loved Only for You. I so got where both of them were coming from. Bodhi is private sector military, he never knows when he will be going, how long he will be gone, or if he will come back. I completely got that where my husband is military. Bodhi and Bridgette knew their time was running out and I know that feeling all too well. I feel that pain before every deployment. Bridgette tried to be strong so her son didn’t know that anything was wrong and as a parent its best but its hard. I’ve been there and done that and reliving it in Only for You made me cry. How Foster described everything they knew was bound to happen was real for me. I hate admitting I cried because I NEVER cry in books, but to me that’s how I knew the book was good!
You will go through all the emotions in this story and pray they make it out on the other side together. Plans be d*mned! Scroll up to the top and one-click, you wont regret it. Just make sure you have tissues close.

5 stars!

Bridgette is a fantastic, dynamic character who is so easy to relate to as she juggles the joys and challenges of being a single, working mom. She’s such a fluid character that was smart, funny, beautiful, and caring. Bodhi did not appear to have a sweet or gentle side at all in the first portion of the book. Actually, he was the epitome of a hot, brooding, closed-off loner that you would want to avoid. However, as the novel progresses, Melissa Foster reveals an amazingly caring, romantic, loyal, and loving man that made my heart so happy! As always with Foster’s novels, the supporting characters were also wonderful, but Louie was the cutest thing ever. For a five-year-old character, Louie is so well-developed and steals the spotlight numerous times with his sweet innocence.
Only For You embraces the concept of love and the sacrifices that we will make for those that we love. Themes include dating and relationships when one of both parties have children, as well as, the importance of strength, love, and support within families. My main thoughts after reading are that some things are just meant to be despite walls we build around ourselves. Every once in awhile people are just magnetically drawn to one another despite how hard they may resist the pull, and some have killer chemistry ? Bodhi and Bridgette’s story will definitely not disappoint contemporary romance fans and I promise that you will fall head over heels for both Bodhi and Louie. As per the norm, I have fallen in love with another Melissa Foster and another one of her leading men!

Only For You is another fantastic read in the Sugar Lake series. This is a story full of romance is well written and full of love, humor, steamy heat and a little heartbreak. The plot moves at a good pace with a fresh, new story line that is easy to read. It is captivating and kept my attention to the very end. This is a story that will make you smile and break your heart while mending it in the best way possible.
The characters were well developed and easy to like. I thought the dog added a nice touch to this story. I thought it took the hard edge off Bodhi and brought out his caring and loving side even more. Bridgette was easy to relate to and she put her son’s interest above her own. I thought Melissa did a great job of entwining Bodhi and Bridgette’s son together and creating a bond between them. This author knows how to create a story with enough romance and action to keep the reader entertained and interested.
Only For You is another book from a very gifted author that I had the pleasure to read. I have not been disappointed yet! Melissa Foster is a very talented author that tells remarkable stories that captivate you and will have you not wanting to put the book down. Definitely, an author that you will want to keep on your go-to list. If you enjoy reading a romance that is entertaining and full of humor, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book. A truly entertaining read.

Talk about a book that pulls at your heartstrings!! Melissa tugged at mine so hard with this book that I thought they might break! Bridgette and Bodhi both have unique experiences that lead them to live a life where they don't make forever promises. From Bridgette losing her husband to Bodhi being deployed, they understand that life can change in an instant. However, fate always wins when love is the play at hand. Even though both characters are stubborn in this way of thinking, they can't deny that they've met "the one" who will turn their world upside down. Having read this on my phone, I was afraid I might throw my phone in excitement of the anticipation for their hearts to win over their logical minds. Louie is a super adorbs addition to their story! He is proof enough that we all need to place ourselves in the mind and ways of a 5-year-old. Life and love would be so much easier if we operated like Louie! A lot of tears were shed because of their "right here, right now" situations as you always want live vicariously through their romance but goodness, I'd been one hot mess if I was in their shoes! As always, Melissa fulfilled my desire to have a book move me through an assortment of emotions!
I received this book through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Bridgette is a hard working single mother who is doing the best that she can. The last thing she needs is for the the hot new neighbor Bodhi to be distracting her. Bodhi knows his time is limited in his mothers new home while renovating before he is called back to duty as a Special Operative. Both Bridgette and Bodhi have an an undeniable attraction and they have to make it clear that he will be leaving soon so what they will have will be no sting attached because he'll be leaving soon, if only it was that easy to keep their hearts out of the equation.
I enjoyed this book it was both heartwarming and pretty hott. I loving seeing that attraction and relationship between Bodhi and Bridgette. I loved the interaction with Dahlia and Bridgettes son was thrown into the mix, and that they didn't fade into the background. I loved getting to know the main character backgrounds and POV throughout the story. I thought it was interesting seeing how they were working things out knowing they had a limited amount of time together and learning to appreciate the little things because there's a chance when he goes back to his job there might be a chance of him coming back. Ok so there was one thing I didn't like about the book and its pretty stupid, I for some reason couldn't get over Bodhi's name it was distracting to me. This book was pretty great through and I really enjoyed it! 5 of 5 Stars!

Bridgette Dalton is thinking what she has and what’s missing from her life. Fell in immediate love with her son. He’s at the age where they have no filter. That’s when funny, and sometimes embarrassing, things get said. Bodhi Booker seems to have a very big heart but does he have room for more?
During this time of year if you love romance, you watch Christmas movies, from a certain channel, over and over. Some of the movies cover those serving in the military. This book would fit in perfectly. The bad thing is that I always get teary-eyed when I watch those – need to keep a box of tissue handy.
There are moments during my reading that I got to laugh, there were moments where I got to see the love of family and then there were moments that left me wanting more. But not once did I have a moment where I wanted to put the book down. I had the opposite. The ending is a good example. One moment the tears were in the background and then I’m left with a smile on my face. The author always has the right combination that keeps me turning page after page. Then I realize that the ending is just around the corner. But I know that Ms. Foster will come up with something else for me to fall in love with.

The Bad Boy meets the Single Mom. Bodhi and Bridgette. Hands off vs. hands on. And so the story goes…. Or so you think it goes.
Bridgette Dalton is the widowed, single mom of a preschooler. She is surrounded by family, yet somehow still lonely. Knowing her every move will ultimately have an impact on her son Louie, Bridgette is careful and deliberate with what she does. Things matter. He comes first.
Bodhi Booker is big, bad and mysterious. Treats his dog like his child, knows the language of flowers and reads romance novels, yet gives off some serious “keep away” vibes. Only in town to fix up his mom’s house next door, there is no future for him with Bridgette, yet their chemistry is off the charts.
As you can probably guess, Bridgette and Bodhi cannot deny their chemistry. Bodhi cannot put Bridgette and Louie through more loss, due to the nature of his employment, and Bridgette cannot put her needs in front of her son’s. It will only set everyone up for heartache. But it is how they mutually agree to evolve that made this book stand out from the others. This is the first Melissa Foster book that made me cry. Twice.
The story of Bridgette, Bodhi, Louie and Dahlia is one that will fill and break your heart simultaneously. I highly recommend you read this wonderful story of second chances of love.

Only for You had that little extra something that just had me gushing out everywhere. I won’t call it complete emotional melt down but it was touching in its own ways. Bodhi was the man that never ever left any one behind. He may just have to leave the beautiful single mom and her son behind this time.
Bridgette’s life takes a turn when she loses her husband. She makes the decision to return home and family. She made a way for herself and her son. Now it was time for her to have a little fun. Of course, why not have fun with the new sexy stud next door.
Bodhi was only in town to fix the home his mother was to retire to. She was his mission at the moment. At least, until the missions he lived for came up again. He was a man that prided himself on his skills and ability to never leave anyone behind. He also never expected to be pulled in to the world of the sexy widow next door and her son.
Returning back to Sugar Lake and the quaint surroundings and good characters was enjoyable. The romance was building the relationship between the three was sweet. Watching them grow as more was well worth the short time it took to read it. I was transported to a small town with characters and events that gave me a sense of being right there.

I enjoyed this story and liked both the main characters, in fact I liked everyone in the book and that's unusual. I found Bodhi sexy and also so perfect for a single mother. There was a lot of steam, romance, sweet family time and some angst. My only other thoughts besides enjoying my time listening to this book, was neither of them ever had the thought that he was fixing up the house next door to her for his mother... and they only plan on the here and now, so what happens when he comes to see his mother and has to see her possibly moved on with someone else? Or they just see each other every once in awhile when he visits his mom and so does her son? And I also thought, it's never a thought brought up that yes, he might be injured or killed, but so could she... that's life and they both know it, but it never once crosses his mind that he might want to be there in case she needs him, only that he'll miss the happy times. I also felt it was resolved way to fast and easily, it was an obvious answer, but one he doesn't even talk about that much... Other than that, enjoyable read, I like this author. I have read some of her books and will read more:)

We start out this book after Bridgette and Bodhi have already met. They both have felt the connection and draw to be with the other but each have their own personal reasons why a relationship with the other is not going to happen. The journey we go on to see them progress from friends, to friends-with-benefits, to even more is so emotional and heartwarming. I won’t spoil too much of it but I will tell you this: the author will tug at all your emotions with this read.
In typical Melissa Foster fashion, both the Hero and the heroine of this book are so relatable and lovable that the reader can’t help but want all good things to happen in their life. And Bodhi’s relationship with Louie?! Oh my goodness I think my ovaries cheered for that. The were a few moments where we caught up with the other Dalton siblings and that just makes me eager to see what happens in their lives next. I honestly don’t know if I have anything negative to say about this book, other than I wish there was more of it. If you haven’t read other Melissa Foster books, you’re missing out – this one will help start your new obsession.
**5 Stars - I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.

Bridgette lost her husband 5 years ago. She has been focused on raising her son and growing her flower business. She has no time for men or relationships and really no desire. Jerry, her husband, was the love of her life. Until….Bodhi walks into her sister’s bakery and all bets are off. She hasn’t had butterflies in her stomach for 5 years and now when she sees him she can barely form a coherent sentence. To top it off – he’s her new neighbor. Bodhi was Special Forces, now working for a civilian contractor. He has a high stress job, can get called away at a moment’s notice, and no guarantee that he will make it home alive. He doesn’t do relationships. He lost his father when he was 8 years old to war. He doesn’t want to do that to anyone else. Then he meets Bridgette and he can’t stop thinking about her. And to make matters worse, she lives next door to the home is bought for his mom. Bridgette and Bodhi finally give into their attraction, with open eyes and a definite end date. Bodhi is in town for two more weeks. He doesn’t want to hurt Bridgette or her son and Bridgette doesn’t want her son hurt. Can they be in the here and now – friends with benefits – without falling in love with each other? Will Bodhi give up his job to be with Bridgette and Louie? Will Bridgette agree to long distance romance even though Bodhi’s job is so dangerous? Another must read by Melissa Foster!!

Bodhi has no intentions of getting involved with anyone. Going on dangerous missions, he doesn't feel it's fair to a woman in case he doesn't make it back. He saw what his mother went through and vows never to let that happen. Yet when he meets his widowed neighbor, Bridgette, and her young son, Louie, he can't help but wish he could be a part of their family.
What can I say, other than Melissa Foster has hit another story out of the ballpark? Bodhi comes across as gruff initially, but the way he interacts with Louie will melt reader's hearts. Bodhi and Bridgette both have things in their past they need to overcome in order to move forward, and they are able to help one another because they understand each other and the loses they have suffered.
This is the second book in the Sugar Lake series, but it can be read as a standalone. For those who have read book one, readers get glimpses of the rest of the Dalton siblings and it was nice to see them again and how supportive they were of Bridgette.
I can't recommend this book enough. It's definitely a must-read if you enjoy a good romance.

This book was absolutely fantastic. It hit me in the feels in the best way. Bridgette and Bodhi were impossible not to love.
Bodhi and his gruff exterior was instantly appealing because I wanted to know what his story was. Learning what his history and present were moved that appeal to me being his full blown cheerleader and wanting him to have the wonderful family he was on the verge of having with Bridgette and her sweet little boy.
Bridgette was this fiercely strong, loving, and just amazing character. She had already suffered through so much heartache and pain so I didn't blame her for not wanting to risk being hurt again. Plus she also had her son's feelings to consider. But seeing the chemistry and just all around happiness Bodhi brought them both, I kept reading in hopes the the author would find a way to give both of these characters what they needed.
In the end every thing was perfect but the journey and experiencing through words everything this book had to offer was the best part. I look forward to the rest of the Dalton siblings getting their own stories.

Oh wow! Bodhi will make your heart pitter patter! Bodhi is a bonafide, 100 percent bachelor because of his dangerous job. Bridgette is a widow and single mother of a little guy who she protects with her whole being, especially his heart. For that reason alone, she has been single and not interested in finding love. Enter Bodhi through a chance encounter at her sister Willow's bakery, one touch and they almost lit the bakery on fire. Neither needed the complication, but neither could forget the other. Well the universe helps them out when it turns out, he is her neighbor or at least temporarily while he remodels the house next door for his mom. The sexual tension was more powerful than either of their excuses, so they chose to become lovers, friends with benefits and end it when Bodhi leaves again for his next assignment. Is that the end? I guess you will have to read to find out.
The emotional ups and downs will have you reeling. The family element in the story reminds me of my own, a close, in your face family. I loved reading this book and look forward to the next one!

Sweetness and romance abound in Melissa Foster's newest release, Only for You. Book Two in the Sugar Lake Series combines hot-as-sin but sweet as all get out Bodhi with not quite sure if she's ready to take the plunge single mom next door Bridgette.
Little Louie steals the show as Bridgette's little boy and he tugs hard on the heartstrings. Melissa Foster wrote Bridgette as being gunshy and maybe to me she was a little too slow to pull the trigger, but Bodhi had me hanging on from the get-go.
The story is one of trust and love and Melissa keeps your heart in knots as she works out the intricacies of their romance. As always, family is a big part of Melissa Foster books and Only for You is no different. You'll see a lot of sibling interaction throughout the book and that's what brings me back for more. Of course, the hunky heroes don't hurt either. Another great read from Melissa Foster and I cannot wait to see what she has in store next.

This was my first time reading Melissa Foster and I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet romance and the ensuing ultra steamy scenes! Bohdi and Bridgette burned up the sheets with their “friends with benefits” idea, and I loved how things backfired on them. I enjoyed the closeness of Bridgette’s family and cracked up over Bridgette’s son Louie, because who could resist a precocious five year old full of sweetness? Bohdi was too perfect, but it’s a romance novel! Where else do you find a ripped guy who can do anything with his hands (inside and out of the bedroom), knows the language of flowers, and reads romance novels?! Bridgette obviously landed herself one heck of a keeper when she crossed paths with Bohdi in her sister’s bakery! Book two in the Sugar Lake series, Only For You easily read as a stand alone.

This is the story of Bridgette Dalton, a single mum and owner of a flower shop. Bridgette lost her husband and is now bringing up her son, so is to busy with the shop and her son to think about love. Then she spots the next door neighbour sexy Bodhi Booker, who is renovating the house for his mother to move in.
It is instant attraction between them both, but one problem, Bodhi is only in town for a couple of weeks and will get deployed out soon, so he does feel that he should get into a relationship as he is not a love em and leave em type.
I loved this story by Melissa Foster, how she got Bodhi into reading romance novels, and the way he would be with Bridgetts son, getting him talking on the walkie talkie.
I can’t wait to see what Melissa Foster has next in line for the Sugar Lake Series.

Very amazing book! Bohdi is dead set to not have a relationship. He is a special ops guy who does rescue missions. After losing his own father in a rescue mission when he was young, he wanted to do this as his career so others could come home. Bridgette is a very tough character. She lost her husband and is raising their son as well as running a business. These two have instant sparks. Add in Roxie's lotions, which may have played a part, and these two can't keep their hands off each other. Their idea to keep it one night fails miserably. Bohdi also falls hard for her little boy, who is really a cutie! So they are faced with whether or not to be together when he is heading out for training. Great characters and an amazing story of love winning.

I devoured this book in one sitting. I started reading it after putting the kids to bed and stayed up until 2:30 a.m. because I just could…not…stop! Melissa had me emotionally attached to Bridgette, Louie, and Bodhi from the beginning. I enjoy reading about the tension and excitement from the “can’t avoid it” encounters of living next to someone you are so drawn to. From the beginning, Bridgette and Bodhi’s relationship had an expiration date. They want to avoid the hurt that being apart can cause. With Bridgette’s son Louie to protect and Bodhi’s job, long term seems impossible.
This book made me feel so many emotions. I laughed and cried. My stomach twisted and untwisted as I experienced special moments between Louie and Bodhi, Bridgette and Bodhi, and the three of them together. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

I am really enjoying the new Sugar Lake books. Bodhi and Bridgette’s story grabs you from the first pages of the book. Bridgette is back home raising her son after losing her husband in a tragic accident years ago. Between running a business and raising Louie, she doesn’t have time for love. Bodhi is in town to renovate a house for his mother between stints doing dangerous rescue missions for a private security firm. Bodhi has never let himself fall for a woman as he can’t imagine making anyone wait to see if he returns from the next mission. When Bodhi buys the house next to Bridgette and they meet at the local bakery, sparks fly. They try to deny them and then give in and vow to live in the “here and now”. Unfortunately sometimes the best laid plans to keep your heart uninvolved don’t work as planned… I loved this story!

Only for You is a sweet, sexy, electrifying story that captures the readers attention from the first page. On the exterior, Bodhi is a rough-around-the-edges, sexy as sin new neighbor with a haunting past and Bridgette is a beautiful, sassy, single mom with her own devastating past. These two have magnetic chemistry, which they both have trouble denying. Bodhi isn't only attracted to Bridgette, but also adores her five-year-old son, Louie. Although, neither of them wants a long-term relationship, they agree to a here-and-now arrangement that grows and strengthens with each passing day. Until Bodhi's short time as Bridgette's temporary neighbor comes to an end and they both fall victim to love, missing each other miserably.
Melissa Foster has written yet another amazing romance novel. Bodhi and Bridgette's story is a really sweet one that I didn't want to end and I certainly can't wait to see them again in a future book.

Only for You by Melissa Foster is such an amazing and touching story. This is the story of Bodhi Booker who is an operative and Bridgette Dalton who owns a flower shop. Bodhi is staying next door to Bridgette to fix up the house for his mom. You can feel the steam flowing off of both of them. Its only a matter a time. Bodhi knows a lit about flowers and their meanings whichbcomes as a surprise to Bridgette. Bodhi doesnt want to get close to anyone due to his line of work and how dangerous it is. They both decide to have a no strings attached approach. But what really got to me was the interaction between Bodhi and Bridgette's son Louie. It literally makes your heart melt even more. This makes the characters even more relatable as a single parent and wanted the best for your children. I absolutely loved this book.
