My son discovered this book in kindergarten and loved it. He could really relate to the excitement of the boy with the loose tooth. He is now a 1st grader and still goes and looks for this book every time one of his teeth has a hint of being loose. It's simple yet still has a very relatable story. It's perfect for the age range it is intended for.

My 5-year-old grandson has his first loose tooth. He is also reading small words and on the cusp of starting to read a lot. This book has great but simple pictures that are very appealing, few words per page (2 to 6 mostly) with words and phrases repeating, and goes through the steps of losing a tooth. My grandson read almost all of it the first day. At $3.99, it is a great value.

First readers love this book, because give them the opportunity to read by themselves and learn new words. Also this book is appropiate for kids who are losing their tooth, soothe them and give them comfort on the process. I recommend this book to anyone.

LOOSE TOOTH is a fun little book for children who are reading at the Kindergarten level.

The story is about a boy who wakes up one morning to find that his tooth is loose. He's excited the same way that my children were when they were little. Bouncing around with energy. He says:

I can see it.
I can feel it.
I can pull it.
I can push it.

But it won't come out!

(text from 3 pages)

The boy gleefully shows everyone, and then he tries to eat carrots and other hard foods hoping it will come out. His brother (who's a scoundrel) even offers to pull it out --with huge pliers!

The artwork in LOOSE TOOTH is very appealing, as is the text. I don't know about your children but mine were fascinated with the whole tooth replacement phenomena. And Schaefer's book is a fun one to share.

I expected more. I thought this book would kind of explain the process of losing a tooth to where the child is not scared for when it actually happens. It didn't really say much at all other than the tooth was loose and it eventually fell by itself and left a hole. My daughter seemed more scared than ever by the time we finished reading it instead of feeling better about her wiggly tooth.

My grandchildren love to have books read to them and this will be a book that they will start to be able to read to themselves. We are almost to the loose tooth stage, so this book helped start the conversation about baby teeth and adult teeth. Cute story.

This is a cute little first reader, full of illustrations of a little boy who wakes up with his first loose tooth. Everyone in his family has a plan to help him get it out of his mouth. Lots of repetition and rhymes will have your early reader reading Loose Tooth by himself in no time. I bought this for my grandson, at almost 5 he could begin losing teeth any day now, since he likes to plan ahead for things I thought this would help prepare him before it actually happens.
