I have vicariously hiked with Fozzie on several occasions and this is the journey I want to take in real life. I loved this and all of his books so far. I feel the sun on my face and the trail under my feet when reading this book and can't wait for the next adventure!

Great journal of a journey along the Camino de Santiago route through France and Spain. Keith "Fozzie" is funny and easy to read. It made me want to drop everything and go walk the Camino. Whether or not make it over there, I have a better understanding of the walk, and thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Having walked the Camino myself from St Jean I can warmly recommend this book. For me it provides a very recognizable description of the Camino and Fozzie writes in a warm way. Easy to read with a good dose of humor connected to it. When you've walked the Camino you will recognize a lot, when you haven't read it as well, it will give you a good sense of what you can encounter from live on the Camino.

Thoroughly enjoyable read due in no small part to the author’s ability to make you feel that you are on the trail with him. Many hiking tales too often resemble a collection of simple journal entries. Keith delivers a well delivered immersive experience.

Enjoyed reading about the people and lodging along the trail but did not feel I was on a hike. Very little info about the hike itself. A book AWOL on the AP made me feel as if as was hiking beside him.

My good friend walked a section of the Camino for two weeks, and while she was gone, I read this book each day. The way it was written made me feel like I was experiencing the pilgrimage right along with her. Thank you for writing this book and sharing the ups and downs of your journey. After finishing this book and hearing about my friend's experience, El Camino de Santiago remains on my wish list of things to experience in life.

Another outstanding book by Keith Foskett, he is such an excellent story teller and really makes you feel like you are there with him on the trail. We love his honest account about his experiences, a great read!

You can walk right alongside Fozzie, smell the same smells. Hear the same sounds and taste the beautiful bread. His series got me through a cold winter dreaming about mountains and staying sane. Thanks man!

It's great to enjoy the Camino through the honest and humorous eyes of a real walker. The personal relationships felt a little disjointed and unfinished, they probably were. They nevertheless added texture to the story and makes one yearn to experience the walk and the landscape.

I have read Kieth Fosketts later book about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. I thought it was much better than this book.his descriptions in this book never made me feel I was there as in his other book.

Keith captures what is important about thru hiking: the characters, the struggle, and glimpses of his own "why". There are probably other books that give you more detail about the Camino, but a book like this makes you want to do it.

Read Balancing on Blue first,, then read The Last Englishman, then read your first book, The Journey In Between. You are a gifted writer. You have a unique ability of blending your experiences and thought processes in a very interesting and entertaining manner. Keep writing!

So thankful you shared your story! I feel like I was with you through the whole journey. I bicycled through northern Spain starting from France in the summer of 1978, and while our travels and callings were different, it was easy to relate to many of your adventures. Thank you, Fozzie!

An enjoyable book. Great stories of the people and adventures on the Camino. Some of Foskett's insights are real fodder for contemplation: "I may have a rough idea where I am heading and what I may be doing, but I don't concern myself with the day I get there anymore. I try to appreciate life in the moment."

Well written, vivid descriptions. Excellent reading for those of us who cannot accomplish the pilgrimage ourselves but can experience it by reading Fozzie's book. Not just the daily blow by blow but the how and why as well. Reminiscent of Michener!

This is a very thoughtful, interesting and entertaining account of his Camino. It is really nice to have a description of the walk where St. Jean is only half way, since he started in Le Puy en Velay. Not many people do the 1,000 miles all at once.

I read the last Englishman before this book and really enjoyed it. Keith's writing style is colorful and the descriptions vivid. Clearly he is not trying to fit into any particular mold, but maintains creative integrity throughout.

I found this a relaxing and transporting read from everyday life. Honest, entertaining, and informative about the Camino walk. Five stars would have included insightful spiritual insight on pilgrimages.

I have read this authors later book about PCT walk and this was enjoyable sometimes very funny.
I have read many books about great outdoors which I enjoy, but lots of authors are skilful adventures and outdoor personalities but lack of writing skills. Luckily this is not the case with Keith "Fossy" Foskett' s books. Looking forward to read his later books if there are any in pipe line!

Well written, almost poetic in places, account of an incredible, life-changing experience. So detailed, it is as if you are making the hike with "Fozzie" and seeing the sights through his eyes. Looking forward to reading another of his adventures.
