In Wahida Clark's second installment of the Thug series, you are introduced to Kayla, Angel, and Jaz's best friend, Roz. Roz is a street and book smart woman. A beautiful woman that has endured more than most, Roz is a woman that is about her business. After finding out her man of 5 years is cheating on her while he is in jail, Roz vows to never get involved with another Thug.

Trae, has always admired Roz from afar. The only thing standing his way was Roz's ex, who is also his business partner. Knowing that his friend would mess up, Trae played the backfield, waiting for the right time.

When Trae, a cocky take-charge man goes after an emotional and cautious Roz sparks fly. To show Roz, who is in charge Trae begins calling her Tash, which is from her middle name. Tash is not a woman that gives her everything to a man. Trae has to do something that he has never had to do in the past, work to be with Tash. Trae's right hand man, Kaylin meets Angel. The problem is that Angel has not let go of a missing Snake. Knowing that he has vanished, Angel isn't ready to let him go until Kaylin walks in.

Just when you thought there was a happily ever after all hell literally breaks loose!!

This is my favorite book, besides the Bible. Clark was definitely written a classic!! This book will stay with you long after you have turned the last page. The ending will leave you craving for more. This is a hood love story. It shows men, who are gully as ever, but love their women more than life. The women are street, but determine to make it out of the hood together with nothing less than bachelor degrees.

Final Rating: 10 stars!!

I loooooooved this book. When it first came out, I scooped it up with the quickness. Roz(Tasha)and Trae really brought the heat in this book. I'm glad that readers finally had the chance to read about the character that wasn't even mentioned on the cover of the first book. I know everyone loved Tasha and Trae's story, but my heart belonged solely to Angel and Kaylin. Their love story intrigued me so much more than Trae and Roz. It was something about Kaylin that had me all wrapped up in his character. I fell in love with this boy!!! LOL
I loved Kaylin and Angel so much that I read this book twice after I'd read it the first time. To me, their characters were so real! Besides the whiny parts of the women, I couldn't get enough of this book.
For those of you who don't know about the third book, "Thug Matimony"
GO GET IT!! It is the third installment of this story and picks up where this book left off. Kaylin and Angel are the focus of this one, and you will also find out what happened with Trae and Roz after he got shot.
And my boo, Kayling gives a shout-out to the readers.
Pick it up!!!

After reading 'Thugs and the Women Who Love Them', I could not wait to get my hands on the sequel. I am sorry to say this book did not live up to my expectations. Wahida stated in the foreword that her publishing company was changing owners, and as a result, the first 20,000 copies (one of which I purchased) would be raw and uncut. In other words, there were [adult] scenes that needed to be cut and some grammatical errors. That was ok with me, afterall it does say RAW and UNCUT right on the cover. The problem I had was that there was not enough mention of Jazz's pending trial. And it seems to me like if Snake was this big time pimp, why didn't anyone miss him? Even Angel made it seem like there was no skin off her back when the man who pays for her schooling and everything else just up and dissapeared. But the most unbeleivable part of the story is the epilogue when it comes to Jazz's fate and the suprise ending. I just don't get it!!! (If you read part one you understand!) For real, it seemed like Wahida forgot about Jazz's situation and just threw it in at the end. I won't hate too much though, Wahida is a talented sistah. I look forward to more from her.

EVERY THUG NEEDS A LADY is the disturbing sequel to Thugs and The Women Who Love Them. The author, a prison inmate, does a superb job of introducing us to the seamy under belly of a criminal subculture that most of us would like to pretend does not exist.
In her authentic and unvarnished account of this nightmarish urban underground, Wahida Clark takes us into the lives of four college educated women who choose to cavort with and even marry and start families with cold callous men who live on the fringes of the law. The situations the ladies find themselves in as they venture into this sinister world and interact with these dangerous hoodlums, with little or no regard for human life, is truly fascinating. The driving themes behind this steamy novel are sex, violence, drugs and decadent excesses.
EVERY THUG NEEDS A LADY is a truly gritty story which allows us to explore a way of life steeped in depravity and self-indulgence. The chillingly real events depicted in this story coupled with a fascinating cast of characters and an immensely absorbing plot makes for a gripping melodrama that will keep the reader riveted to the book from start to finish.

I read these books back when they first dropped original cover and all. Every thug needs a lady picks up from the novel Thugs and the women who love them. In Every thug needs a lady it focuses on Roz and Angel. Roz meets and falls for Trae but also his right hand man, kaylin meets and falls for Angel. Trae and Kaylin are heavy weights in the streets but they are also looking to eventually get out the game. Angel pursuing her law career and is worried about her involvement with Kaylin. Will the boys get out without bloodshed or arrest?

Wahida Clark is a exceptional writer. She is able to give it to you raw, gritty but also make it a great read. It was to ghetto, there wasn't any unbearable ebonics. It was and is a great read. I look forward to reading everything she puts out!

Just like "Thugs and the Who Love Them," I couldn't put down "Every Thug Needs A Lady!" Wahida has done it again! I feel like the characters are my peeps.

The unbelieveable drama and toe-tingling sex continue when Roz "Tash" and Angel find the men of their dreams...best friends Trae and Kaylin "Kay." As professional, college educated women, Tash and Angel can't understand why they've fallen head over heals for two "thugs." Trae and Kay make Tash and Angel the envy of all of the ladies in their social circle. These two couples are on a roller coaster ride to trouble living the lifestyles associated with hustlin for a livin, but their dedication to each other holds them together until the end.

I'm on my way to buy the third sequel, "Thug Matrimony."

This book was probably better than the first. This book is a continuation of "Thugs and the Women who love them". This book is about Roz, one of the friends that was introduced in "Thugs and the women who love them", and the obstacles she's faced with when she falls for a major player in the game, who also happens to be her ex's friend. This book is full of twist, turns, and steamy sex. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait until part 3 of the series is released. Ms. Clark keep doing your thang!!!

She's BACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK, My girl is still holding her crown usually authors come out with a good book but can't top the next one but she did 10 times better than the first. They way the character Snake came at the end or how all of them end up with wonderful lives. The best part of the book was Trae and his love making to Roz and how he called her his little butterfly (courtsey of Crazytown) damn that was off the chain. I just can't wait for her next novel.

Once again I think people are putting too much into this book! It was not the best book for me...It took me too long to read the book for one and then for two it seems like everything is happening over and over again. I also thought that I was going to get some questions answered from the first book but I didn't! So I will have to think long and hard if I want to read the third book...Sorry Wahida, it didn't work for me this time.

Having been born and raised in Jersey I can relate to the book and appreciate it. However, the stories in the book were to redundant and seemed to get rushed along at times. For example the same situations that happened to Trae and Tash happened to Kay and Angel rite down to the love scenes. Don't get me wrong the love scenes were absolutely the best and hot as all hell.
The book could of been alot better, definately the ending. I agree with alot of the other reviewers the ending had me like huh and scratching my head.
Overall I like the book but Wahida please take your time with the next book and try not to repeat the same scenarios with different characters. I gave it four stars because Wahida is definately a good author and her stories are so on point and true, plus she has so much potential

The story was ok.....typical gangsta story where you know that something is gonna go wrong.....cant have it all, huh? It took me awhile to read the story. Usually, if I am really feeling a book, I will read it in 1-2 days, but this story went on for a bit too long. Looking forward to Thug matrimony though. I only want to know if Trae survives.

I just finished in record time (with no sleep) every thug needs a lady. If you haven't read it and do not want the ending spoiled for you DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. I tell you she was not as bad as far as being raw and uncut with her scenes as some authors I have read. You just have to be adult about it when you read it. The whole thing was great that we got to see Roz's story out of the foursome. i loved it and I will read more of her. The ending threw me for a loop. I thought all was well but I guess not. Please tell me you have a part three. No way it can just end like that with Snake returning and showing up at the wedding, Trae getting shot in the elevator at the wedding, Roz being pregnant again and Angel being pregnant now and we not know what happened. Please tell me there is another.
