Dark and Deadly Book 3 (Volume 3) - Beneath the Secrets

These series has it all. Love, thrilling crime, frightful suspense and great endings. This story is about Blake Walker and Kara, a FBI agent on leave looking for her sister who has been caught up with the cartel leader Alvarez. She meets and drugs Blake thinking he is part of the cartel, who is really there to take down Alvarez for killing his first love. All ends happy and will continue with the next story of Kyle, who works with the Walker brothers, and Kara's sister Mylar. However, this story is NOT a cliffhanger, it can be read as a good story on its own. Thank you. Mrs. Jones. Please let us know when the next story will be released. Got to go. The previous books about the Walker brothers were a little more believable. This one was very good, but it wasn't very realistic with character traits. Sex scenes were very steamy but again, were far from realistic. These volumes just weren't the best in the series.

From the prequel to each story about each Walker brother you are kept on the edge of your seat. You just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. The stories were great with just the right amount of mystery and hot sex. Love all the books that Lisa Renee Jones writes. Pretty much pick up anything with her name on it.

This book really was a interesting read. I couldn't put it down. The Walker brought try er's sure do love protecting their women at all costs. I loved it. The manly caveman aspect of their personality was killer. Loved it.

I started this book twice and stop because the language in the beginning. About. half thought it became a good book. That why I only it a 3 . It had to detailed sex in it too. After I really got into it was good .don't understand whey it was book 3.

These books were suspenseful and sexy... Even if they were a tad bit predictable. I read the series while I was away camping for a week, and they were perfect for the beach or sitting around the campfire :)

Similar plots (if not the same with different players) as in this authors first three books in this "Secrets" series... Hot Secrets (Tall, Dark, and Deadly).......Dangerous Secrets (Tall, Dark, and Deadly), and Secrets Exposed: Tall, Dark and Deadly (Prelude to Tall, Dark & Deadly). I purchased these books in a bundle on my eReader...they cost me a total of .99¢. Except for loss of time from enjoying better reading & space on my Kindle..no great loss.

Blake Walker, youngest brother to Royce and Luke, is trying to escape the torment of Whitney's loss and the guilt/blame he carries for her death. He's a man with a death wish who infiltrates a drug ring in order to gain access and trust with the trigger man he's finally found. And then he meets Kara Tatum, aka: Kara Michaels...

He puts her on edge. He sets her on fire and leaves her breathless. He's her weakness and problem that could destroy her ultimate goal. Kara is treading dangerous waters...she's one tough gal and verrrrrrry independent. Enter one yummy, arrogant, loose cannon in the guise of Blake Walker...who's attracted to her.....

It would be nice if these book-cover pictures could look remotely like the characters described in the story. Blake has long black hair and looks like a biker. Oh well. I liked these characters and Ms. Jones did a wonderful job describing them...(oh, except Kara's eyes miraculously change from warm light brown to vivid green towards the end of the book). Great suspense/drama combination periodically filled with semi-erotic romance to take up time, that finishes with a HEA for our main characters, and a cliffhanger too. Yeah, really...the suspense lives on in book #5. Quite frankly I've had my fill.

Blake finally get his chance to get close enough to take his revenge. He just was not prepared for the stumbling block placed before him or the secondary direction of his efforts. All the Walker brothers come to have a part in this one and the Walker associated take a step toward a bigger spotlight. I got so much in this one that I may have been just a bit overwhelmed of underwhelmed depending on how you look at it.

Eric Michael delivers yet again.

The chemistry between Kara and Blake is so explosive. They both struggle with being torn between what they consider their duty to their need for each other. I love how strong and vulnerable Kara is and how she helps the wounded Blake return to living again.

Lisa Renee Jones writes a love Travis compelling from start to finish. Book 3 in this series is Blake and Kara's story. Both characters have trust issues and secrets from the start and the story revolves around their working out these issues and allowing them to build on the passion they feel for each other. They are fighting the attraction for each other while trying to bring down a drug cartel who also deals in the woman slave trade. The story is compelling and draws you in. Once you figure out who all the characters are and who they work for you will enjoy the book. If you like alpha males who are loyal and over protective of their family and loved one this is the book for you. Again we are drawn into the relationship of the Walker Security agency's brothers but this is a stand alone book. Jones leaves you with the desire to read more of her booked and I understand she has a new book being released in April.

What an exciting and intense story. They saved each other. Blake was lost only out for revenge, Kara is searching for her sister and the only way to do it is become one of the bad guys. This series is amazing can't wait for more.

Again, the Walker brothers to me are like a modern-day "Mission Impossible" story. There is action, danger, covert action and lots of great loving. The brother's characters are so great together, and it's fun reading and unfolding the story to see what will happen next.
