Round two in the Tall Dark and Deadly series goes to brother Luke and Julie. We met them both in book one. Julie is a good friend of Lauren and is helping with wedding arrangements to Royce. A bit ironic when you find out Julie is a divorce attorney. Her current case involves a powerful judge, and things start going a bit crazy after Julie receives a visit from the soon-to-be ex-wife who then turns up dead. Now someone is after her and the only person who can help her is the one who loved her, left her, and changed her forever - Luke Walker.

As a Navy SEAL, duty called Luke away from Julie, but now he's back and determined to get her back in his arms. He has quite the opportune moment with Julie helping out for his brother's wedding. However, with someone out to get her, Luke has even more motivation. With her life on the line, Julie and Luke find themselves spending more time together. Passion brings them together while danger threatens to tear them apart. Luke needs to find out who the killer is before Julie ends up dead.

Whew does Julie find herself in a hot mess with the divorce she is handling for the judge. Lots of twists and mysteries to unravel. It keeps everything moving fast and unpredictable. I like Luke. He is less high-strung than his brother is but he does have a caveman aspect to him. Nothing like a possibility of getting killed to bring two former lovebirds together. I'm a big fan of characters taking their time before they jump in the sack but second chances get a pass. Julie and Luke definitely fit that bill. There's a real nice build-up to the story, all this tension of who is out to get Julie, which was, unfortunately, on the receiving end of a rushed ending. Still, they got their happy ending. Now all I'm waiting for is for Blake to get his HEA.

I'm probably going to end up with hate mail here but Dangerous Secrets read a lot like Hot Secrets. Like too much...like 'second verse same as the first' a lot. Strong female lead - check. Strong male lead - check. She's in danger, he goes all caveman helping her - check, check and more checks. The similarity checks just go on and on. Now this book didn't suck so let me get that out there. I get it. It's a series, they're brothers, the women are both attorneys, yada yada yada. There's a working formula here and I know fans of Ms. Jones have come to expect it. I, personally, prefer all my books in a series to be different. Once I start to see a pattern, one that ends up being repetitive, I tend to call it a day and stop reading the series. I'll give it one more try and hope the third time give me something different.

Luke gets his chance to finally show Julie there's more to him than love'em and leave'em. Julie took a chance and let down her guards once with this man. Now she has a chance again to feel the freedom of having it all. She just don't know if it will turn in to more and she's not sure if she wants to take that chance and see where things go. Having things move closer and time become limited. They both find that the other means so much more than just the here and now. Julie finds that her latest divorce case me be more than she can handle but of course she will not let other see that. Good thing that Luke is there along with the others of Walker Security.

I must say that I did enjoy the story. I could have loved it, if I would have had some more answers to questions. There were some characters there and then not. There were so events that took place but then they were over. I just wanted a bit more.

Luke and Julie come to life with the vocal performance from Eric Michael. He does the job for me. He makes me feel as if I am right her for it all. The smooth timber he provides our male characters makes this wonderful. I could feel the strength of his voice. The recording was smooth and clear. I was able to listen at my preferred speed with no issues at all.

Luke Walker & Julie Harrison's story.

After reading the Inside Out series, I'm hooked on stories by author, Lisa Renee Jones. She is a gifted storyteller and this book shouldn't be missed if you enjoy suspense & romance. Add in women who are independent, educated, successful, beautiful and like their men to be real men. The Walker brothers protect what's their's, loyal, are gentlemen and know how to treat a lady right. Luke Walker, Navy SEAL, now working with his brothers in private security and reconnecting with Julie. They connected years ago and then he was deployed. Now, he's retired from the military and his mission is Julie. Julie is fiercely independent and a successful attorney. Her latest case, a divorce between a prominent judge and his philanthropic wife. The wife dies and Julie finds herself involved in a deadly game. Luke is brought in to investigate, but protecting Julie and keeping her safe is his priority. Julie needs to resolve the mystery and keep Luke from getting killed, even if it means risking her own life to do so.

This story is like a two-lane mountain road with hairpin turns, twists that make you slow down, but the energy and destination keep you moving forward. I HAD to find out who Dragonfly really was and how all the pieces came together, so putting down the book (kindle), wasn't an option. Julie drove me crazy with her constant second guessing, but Luke is a man we should all be so lucky to know. I'll finish this series, even though this book can also be read as a stand-alone. A sneak-peak of "Provacative" is included, and it's on my list to read. Lisa Renee Jones, you keep me entertained & I thank you for it!

Dangerous Secrets is the perfect title for this sizzling hot mystery romance by the phenomenal Lisa Renee Jones. This is the second book in the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series where we meet the second Walker broker Luke and his lady love Julie. Each character is developed to enhance the flow of the story and increase the readers' interest. The dialogue is titillating and filled with sexual innuendos and at the same time action packed drama. This is a book that you will not put down until the last page!

Julie has always had to work harder, be smarter and stick to the letter of the law more than other women in her field. As a high priced divorce attorney she loves her job helping others get out of bad situations and move on to a new life. But when you look like Marilyn Monroe, are single and in a high profile position it is not always easy to be seen as the intelligent, savvy women you really are! Julie finds herself involved in a case that may cost her more than just a win or a loss, it may cost her, her life! There is only one man that she can trust to help her, Luke Walker and he is the one man that can destroy her! Just like he did before when he walked out of her life!

She is the only woman that he has ever wanted forever, but he never felt that he could have her. So, he walked away from her. Now that his SEAL days are over and he is working with his brothers running their company, Walker Security, it's time to claim his woman. Julie, however is not on board with picking up where they left off. You know, once burned twice shy and Luke finds himself in an all out battle to regain her trust and win her back. When Luke realizes that someone wants her dead, and he is the only thing that stands between her and the grim reaper, he is all in when it comes to saving the woman he loves.

Each time I read a book by Ms. Jones, I am more enamored with her world. This is an excellent addition to anyone's library, I know it is to mine!

I would have given this book two stars simply because there was some plot and I liked the character Luke. I even liked Julie, but just saying a character has issues and not ever truly explaining any of that does not do it for me. I found all of the books I have read in this boxed set had the leading female character just wondering if the leading male actually liked them if they turned their back for a second.

At the beginning of the book, Lauren's (Leading female character from the first book in the Walker brother's trilogy) dad was getting over a recent divorce. Since this is the second book and the major 'plot' was his wife being shot at the end of the first book after terrorizing Lauren, I would sure hope that the author would remember this fairly significant fact!!!!

If you like sex scenes (which I actually do), this book had many, but they seemed cliche with no real feelings. The angry sex was bizarre to me.

To top it off, the editing was basically non-existant. I always try to give some lenience for the Kindle editions, but the first 15 chapters of this book had indented paragraphs. Chapter 16 did not, like the first book. Then the paragraphs after that were indented or not very sporadically on the same page at times. I found it very distracting. Little words missing was also distracting, but at one point I was so confused about what was going on with he and they being interchanged. These words are definitely NOT interchangeable.

Dragonfly's identity was pretty much given away as soon as they were introduced to the book. As soon as 'French-Canadian' was mentioned it was pretty much guaranteed that these people would be bad guys. Seems to be a trend in many books I read.

I found that just when some actual suspense/action was starting, the book basically 'ended'. People were killed, but no real ending. I guess that will happen in further books......books that I will not read.

I have read 8 books by Lisa Renee Jones and will read no more of her books. I have become terribly disappointed.

Same old storyline with nothing new which is basically the way all romance suspense novels are. Heroine in need of saving from the bad guys. Hero being all macho and wanting to save her.
Needs to be edited more properly since there were a few typing errors and sentences that made no sense. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t figure out what those messed up sentences were trying to convey.
Also what happens to Marco and Arel? They along with their operations cannot just disappear. That’s a loose end in this book that did not get any closure.
Kinda disappointed nevertheless I will be reading Blake’s story since I want to end the series.

I have been hearing such great things about this author and I was not disappointed in the least! Within the first few paragraphs of being introduced to the main characters, Julie and Luke, I could feel the tension between them. I fell in love with Luke almost immediately and who wouldn't? Hot ex-SEAL who still has that super-protective instinct and who never got over Julie after their previous short-lived affair? Plus, in true romance novel fashion, his brothers are all super sexy too (and they each have, or I assume will have, their own book in this series...yay!) The "suspense" aspect of the book was good too, but the secondary characters involved there were a bit caricaturish and predictable. Still, there was more than enough drama there to keep me reading till the end. And when I got to the end, I wanted more from Luke and Julie. I guess I can only hope we'll get to see them a bit in book 3. :)

Even though this is part of a series, it stands alone without any problem. I hadn't read the other book in this series and I didn't feel lost at all, but I definitely want to go back and read the first one now!

Fans of romantic suspense (like that of Lori Foster) you should absolutely check this book out - you will not be disappointed!

Dangerous Secrets is the second in The Walker Brothers Trilogy. I am really enjoying this series. The passion (and tension) between Julie and Luke is high. We get glimpses of the past when they were seeing each other before. Julie's past prevents her from wanting to get too close to anyone but Luke won't let that happen again. There were great sex scenes and lots of suspense. I had an idea who might be the bad guy but I never knew until the very end. Ms. Jones is great at keeping the suspense high and the bad guy a secret. I don't think I have ever guessed the right bad guy for any of her books...The ending felt a wee bit rushed for me but that might have been due to all the action coming to a head. Overall I thought this was a well written story that definitely deserves a read!

I can't wait for Blake's story. His past is so heart wrenching I am really hoping for a happy ever after for him. Until we get his story everyone go check out Dangerous Secrets and let me know what you think!

The Walker brothers are sexy, gorgeous and deadly. Julie is on her way to her best friends wedding to one of these sexy men when she runs into the brother who broke her heart. What she doesn't realize is that she touch his too but he had no choice when he left the first time and he doesn't intend on letting her go this time around.

Julie finds herself tangled within a stolen art ring that is funded by a Canadian cartel. Luke is not going to let anything happen to her but battling her nerves and battling her growing emotions for Luke may prove too much for Julie.

Well written romance, with a good mystery attached. Was it cliche? Maybe, but how many romance novels don't follow a formula and aren't cliche? Not many. I'm liking these Walker boys, can't wait to read the next one.

I purchased the series and prefer to review each book separately. Dangerous Secrets is book 2 in the Tall, Dark and Deadly Series. While I enjoyed this book, it wasn't quite as good as the first. Luke, one of the three Walker brothers, is another man every woman would want to protect and love them. Julie, a divorce attorney, has seen too much to believe in love. Throw the two of them together again years later, and watch the sparks fly. I likes both characters but I found this story dragged on longer than necessary and really wrap up the mystery. Perhaps it will come into play in Blake's story? A good read with action and romance but the pace was too slow compared to book 1.

Julie Harrison fell into her position as a divorce attorney. It may not be her chosen specialty, but she is good at it. Unfortunately, divorces especially high profile ones tend to get nasty and dirty little secrets come to light. When Julie learns a threatening tidbit from her client's wife, she wonders if there is anything to worry about. However, when her client's wife ends up dead, Julie begins to wonder if she knows too much. Of course, it's bad timing since her best friend is getting married, and Julie doesn't want to inadvertently get her involved. How can she stay one step ahead of her pursuers? Who can she trust?

Luke Walker never wanted to leave Julie behind, but he had a duty to his country to fulfill. Now he is back to being a civilian, operating a private security firm with his brothers. He hopes to loosen the barrier that Julie has constructed around her heart, and since they are both in his brother's wedding, he will soon have his chance. However, when he learns about the threat to Julie's safety, he immediately offers his services and sets his men into motion. He has to be vigilant in his protection as the danger could be coming from any direction. Will he eliminate the threat before it's too late for either of them? Will he garner her affection?

Lisa Renee Jones delivers a thrilling yet sexy romantic suspense. She cultivates a story with non-stop action, amazing characters, and an intoxicating danger. Julie and Luke work rather well together, yet they are both headstrong in their ideas It was fun watching them battle each other while staying alert for any unknown threat. DANGEROUS SECRETS will rivet readers, keeping them on the edge of their seat while giving them an exciting adventure. I quickly devoured the pages, and was left wanting more. I am so looking forward to the next Walker brothers' tale.

Julie Harrison is a divorce attorney for the rich and famous and she knows it can get down right nasty at times. Julie has also learned from all of the cases she has handled that love doesn't last. She is determined not to make the mistakes that her mother and clients have made. Julie has found that if she turns the games men play onto them than she can keep men at a distance and not worry about getting hurt. The only man that has come close to getting through the wall she has built is Luke Walker. While he was a Navy SEAL she never had to worry about him being around enough to tempt her.

Luke Walker is back and now that he is retired from the SEALs he is determined to get the only woman he has ever truly wanted, Julie. Now that he is in New York and running Walker Security with his brothers he has the chance he needs to get Julie right where he wants her.

One of Julies clients is a powerful judge that is now involved with a dangerous cartel and has managed to get Julie mixed up in his mess. His ex wife is dead and now Julie is next on the list for things they believe she knows. Now Julie has to find a way out of the mess she is in and it looks like the only one that can save her and extract her from this is Luke Walker. Suddenly Julie finds herself spending a lot more time with Luke when before she did what she could to avoid him. Now Julie is going to have to decide just how much she trusts Luke and if just maybe she has been wrong about love and just needed to find it with the right man.

This is a great story that while it is the second book in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series it can be read as a stand alone but the reader will get a lot more enjoyment out of the story if they read the whole series. This one will also have readers eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. This one also has enough twists and turns to keep the reader guess just who is who and just who is the bad guy is. This one not to miss.

Second in the "Tall, Dark, & Deadly" series. Yes, I profess I am a bad girl for reading this out of order. HOWEVER, the lack did not hinder the reading of Dangerous Secrets.

FYI - The series is aptly named. The Walker brothers are definitely "tall, dark and deadly."

Reunion book - which normally I do not like. There are a few that sneak up on me. Jones gave glimpses through either Luke or Julie on their past little fling.

Nice role reversal. Instead of the woman knowing she "loves" the man and intending for him to "realize" his feelings. The roles are reversed. It is Luke who knows he loves Julie and intending to show her that she loves him.

Luke is your Alpha male. He's hard. He is protective. Especilly when it comes to his woman!

Julie - She is use to being on her own. Now family really to speak of. So it's hard for her to see Luke with his family, seeing what she missed out in her childhood.

The story had enough action to keep a reader gripped. Though I wonder if this is the last we seen of the villian or will he appear in future books.

And Blake, if he will get a story down the line.

I really enjoyed this book and finished it within a couple of hours of picking it up.

It moved along at an amazing pace, had characters that you fall in love with and want to know more about, and that you want to see succeed no matter what and a story that just wont stop.

Lisa Renee Jones is an amazing author who does not let you down, everyone should experience her writing and you wont be sorry that you did.

This is the second book about the Walker brothers. The heroine is a divorce attorney this time. She's involved in a big divorce case. The wife of her client dies and she feels that she's being watched. Luke Walker, a former fling, came to her rescue.

It's a terrific book and you end up falling in love with the characters... Looking forward to reading the third book in the series!

I immediately purchased this book after the finishing the first and I am glad I did. This book was even better than the first. The characters are well developed (especially if you read the first book prior) and the story flows well. When she introduced a few of the characters I was concerned as to how they would tie into the story, but I was pleased to see that she was able to work them in without giving away the ending. My only complaint comes at the end. Although she wraps up all the loose ends I would have liked to see more.
Dangerous Secrets was a good read that I would recommend!

Again, the Walker brothers to me are like a modern-day "Mission Impossible" story. There is action, danger, covert action and lots of great loving. The brother's characters are so great together, and it's fun reading and unfolding the story to see what will happen next.

Julie and Luke have a history. They have chemistry. He's former Seal and she is a divorce attorney.
Mix in a little Dom/sub reference and they are hot.

Fascinating and intriguing. Keeps continually wondering how Julie and Luke are going to rekindle a relationship that was left hanging several years ago when he left for a Navy Seals operation. Now the murder of a client's wife throw them back together as they try to solve the murder.
