This book stretches the imagination way to far... What is going on here. Morgan did you forget the last book of what happened to Kyle? In the last book when Vesuvius had his elite fighters surround Kyle and he pulled some magic net and threw it over him capturing him and throwing Kyle over his shoulder and run away. I guess he didn't like that story line, changed it and hoped we forgot. But there are other things I found didn't go well. How about Anvil poor guy got run over by hundreds of soldiers and horses and lived and fought to save King Duncan who was rotting away in the dungeon in Andros. Which by the way was also being rescued by his ten year old son, and of course Kyra is there with her Dragon and in trouble of her own, again because she didn't follow orders from her mother. Kyle's single handedly killing thousands of soldiers and trolls. Duncan after spending days of torture, starvation and thirst is practically carried out of the dungeon, almost instantly recuperated and runs through Andros that's being destroyed by Dragons to find Kyra when he heard her scream from blocks away. Really? There is just so much wrong with this book it would take to much time to write. Morgan your a better writer than this. I wish I could get a dollar back that I spent on these books when I read someone say their going to die and live to say it again and again and again. Your characters didn't die, but this book almost killed me.

There are so many battles battle in this story that I feel exhausted even if the characters don't, but then fantasy gives us these fantastical scenarios - entertaining, too.

I was given this book and am so grateful because it was enjoyable and it's great to know what is happening. It's fast-paced and brimming with imaginative creatures alongside sword and sorcery.

The multiple character plot is coming together and mysteries are revealed...who will survive, we can only guess. There was a huge mistake regarding Kyle as he was left in a different predicament in the last book to this one, however, a good editing would solve this and other errors, too. He is such a fascinating character.

Nevertheless, my enjoyment level upon reading this series is high and I would definitely recommend it.

The book “A Realm of Shadows” is the fifth book in the “Kings and Sorcerers” series. The easy and light writing style will hook you up from the very first page. In this book we continue to follow our heroine Kyra, a 15 year old girl, who loves to fight like a warrior. In this episode she is fighting in the capital city of Escalon to release her baby dragon and escape from a massive dragon attack. Her father Duncan comes to her rescue after escaping the dungeons with help of his loyal soldiers. Kyra now heads to Marda, to retrieve the Staff of Truth, while her father moves to the outskirts of the capital to put in action a bold plan to defeat the pandesians. Other parallel stories are told. Alec returns from his journey, bringing back the sword that can change the balance in the war. His friend Mark is at Dierdre side and they are looking for Kyra, after Ur is destroyed. Vesuvius is persecuting Merk, going towards the Tower of Kos, to capture the Sword of Flames. Packed with excitement, I recommend this book to the permanent library of all readers that love to read a well written book, which will allow them to live a fantasy full of action. I can hardly wait to see how the story will end. The author managed again to produce a strong set of characters that make us cheer for them on every page we turn. I received a copy of this book from the author and I was not requested to write a positive review. Opinion expressed here is my own.

Once again, a very good book. I am anticipating the finale. Can't wait!
My only gripe are the continued problems with grammar and mixing up of characters.
I know it can be hhard to keep track sometimes, but that's what proofreaders are for. To alleviate such errors.
Non the less, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and await the finale.
Thank You for your efforts.

I just finished it and it was amazing, all getting ready for , I hope, the final battle. I read it in 2 days and that's because of all my duties. I could just read all day his books. A little editing would help, but this one was much better!

I thoroughtly enjoy this book. The suspensful and leaving questions of what's next left me waiting impatiently for the next book. Morgan Rice is a gifted writer, and I look for any other ones of her books. Her Sorcerer's Ring series kept me up some nights. Bringing in the Kings and Sorcerors series in has me waiting again. You are truly a great writer of addictive reading material. Looking forward to the next book. Thank you.

Great read, Kyra is becoming an amazing warrior. I love this series, Morgan has a great story telling ability not to much detail but just enough to make you see whats going on. The battles Duncan has, facing off against Ra and his army are truly epic. Right when the you think the action couldn't get any better Morgan throws dragons into the mix. I did think some things were a little to convenient to be realistic but it is a Fantasy so we have to give a little leeway. (Slight spoiler alert don't keep reading unless you feel you need to) An example of the convenience would be, the dozens of ships placed at the tower of Kos allowing Vesuvius to chase after Merk and Lorna. There did need to be a chase, I just think there should have been some explanation as to why there would be so many ships docked and unmanned at a place as desolate as the tower of Kos, where did they come from? But I'm just being picky. Besides that, I love the story. Great job Morgan Rice keep it up, I cant wait to read the next one.
