At first I was a little disappointed in the audio-book since it was another speaker other than R.C. Sproul. However, after the first ten minutes I could hear the speaker, as if it were Sproul himself (since, of course, he is the author).
The book is EXCELLENT! It has a way of bringing you to a place of "awe" concerning God's holiness. It helped me to understand holiness and to desire God to bring forth holiness into my own life.
R.C. Sproul is one of my favorite Theology teachers, and this audio-book shows how God has gifted him to teach the truths of God's word clearly and effectively. ENJOY :)

It was in this book that I first encountered unabashed reverence for the Lord and His holiness. It was here, too, that I got my first inkling of things that are so seldom discussed today in polite company - including His wrath and what the burden of our sins did to Jesus, the Lamb of God. It changed everything for me.

As a Christian I continue to be convinced that the church today needs a strong reminder of the holiness of God, and this book spoke with great clarity on this topic. Sproul does an excellent job expositing biblical passages, telling historical stories, and giving personal anecdotes to teach what the holiness of God really means. The book reads like a novel, but the picture of the holiness of God is clear.
I highly recommend this book to every Christian looking to know God and His holiness better.

Eye opening back ground on biblical people and times to remind us on the Holiness of God. Great reflection pieces at the end of each chapter to capture where the Holy Spirit is opening your eyes to his greatness and will.

The holiness of God is truly infinite and perfect. This book can help us obtain a little more accurate understanding of holiness by increasing our comprehension of perfection and infinity. I was left thinking "I knew God was perfectly holy, but wow, He is THAT perfectly holy!" At the end of each chapter, reflection questions guide the reader to apply his or her convictions from the reading. This book escapes the curse of most theology, it manages to be both profoundly deep and yet accessibly practical.

"The Holiness of God" is an excellent book for the new and mature Christian alike. Sproul uncovers the character of God in a way that leaves you thinking, "I read the Bible, why didn't I realize this?" Sproul's knowledge and lucid writing style make this book a great read. I can't recommend it enough. Sproul doesn't add anything to already revealed in the Bible attributes of God; Sproul merely points you to these attributes, which is what I really like about him. Some theologians have to invent or do linguistic gymnastics in an attempt to prove their point. What does Sproul do? He simply goes to the Bible.
What also helps make this book is that Sproul is a philosopher, so you get chapters in this book over the problem of evil and the freedom of the will. This book will leave you with a better understanding of theodicy.
Give this book a read. You won't regret it.

An easy read and quite good at giving a perspective to consider that for God, "Holy is Holy" and we can accept it as it is granted and given to us. This is a book I would recommend to any level of Christian who wants to continue to grow on their path with faith in God. It will give insights to a new believer, help you find your way to anyone in the middle of their faith journey, and even refresh the belief for a long time believer.
Even a good read for non-believers to gain an insight to what Christianity and belief in a Holy God is really supposed to be.

RC read the bible and felt devoted to the readings he came across. I could feel that while reading this book. If you ever heard boring preaching and want to overcome it, read this book. Practice sharing the word like RC did here in this book and you will see how great of a Bible teacher you can be.
The Bible should invoke all of us to know the presence of the holy.

This tremendous book is an awesome presentation of the holiness of God, of our sin, and of God's grace. Very highly recommended. I agree with those other reviewers who label this book a 'must read'. Sproul brings out God's holiness in a way that makes the reader think most seriously and reverently of God.

Have any modern Christians really knew what worshiping a Holy God meant? Sproul minces no words when he tells us what it really actually means. We are guided in each chapter to review our own intransigence in our daily worship and service. What we truly know about the holy one is put to us with a mirror to see ourselves as truly unworthy of salvation. Sproul shows the righteousness of our God and what is the meaning of it in our lives.
