While I knew our military trained and equipped dogs for military service, I never realized the extent of their training and the responsibilities placed on man's best friend to protect our people and search and apprehend the enemy. I learned so much about how dogs learn, how they are trained. I love this book!

To much repetitiveness. Although i enjoyed the book overall, much of it wasn't about training as it was stories of different dogs in combat. I enjoyed the book, however; i was more interested in the training of the dogs more.

I was really disappointed how much of the content in this book was recycled from Trident Canine Warriors. It's the same book. The anecdotes are identical. I enjoyed it the first time I read it but feel this book is purely a marketing scheme to "relaunch" Trident Canine Warriors."

I'm thirteen and bought this book at my scholastic book fair in school.
I thought it was going to be about Navy Seals and their dogs going on missions, but I was mistaken. The first 2/3 of the book were about how he trained the dogs. there are only about 4 short chapters about their missions, and that is only the first couple of pages of those four chapters. The rest of those four pages are a bout how the dogs and their handlers met. There are a total of about 15 chapters. I was a little disappointed and felt like a wasted $8.00.
The writing was magnificent, which made up for the book.

An easygoing book, told matter of factly with warmth and humor, I had a difficult time stopping reading. Gave perspective into the past and current war use of dogs in combat. A must read for canine loving military history buffs.
