Some spoilers are ahead: Between the mountain lion attacks, bear attacks, wolf attacks, an earthquake that levels buildings, and a tsunami it was way too far fetched for me. The author definitely put a lot of heart into the book but I prefer less tears and more realistic fiction for this type of story. Maybe it’s better for others.

This story was beautiful with strong characters. I love the cowboy love stories with God as the central theme. I would have given 5 stars but found it a little repetitive with the expressions of self doubts of the main characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I wanted to smack them and I laughed at them and I had so much fun living this book! I was easily sucked into the story and at times wanted to throttle them, but it's a heartwarming love story with God at the center.

I absolutely loved this book! I almost couldn't put it down. :) I have it on my Kindle for Windows 8, and so when I was reading it, I kind of knew what was going to happen, and then when I thought it was the end... it was only half way through. I was so happy and excited that I wanted to finish the book all in one sitting, but unfortunately with everyday life, that didn't happen. This book does kind of go into a little detail, which I wasn't expecting whatsoever, so I think that if you kind of have that mindset about you, or know in advance, then it won't necessarily through you off. When asked how I would describe the characters, I would say developed in a complex sort of way. Overall, loved the book, loved playing it out in my mind, loved the twists and everything that helped the book be what it is.

Good & interesting story line, Describing feelings was to repetitive and I found myself skipping over those pages looking for the story to continue, which it did and wasn't to much of a distraction. Didn't take long to read this book because I picked it up every chance I got and stayed interested all the way to the end.

This western historical romance kindle book was entertaining as well written stories kept me wondering what next for the characters. A truly unique reading experience about people finding real love in unexpected places where they traveled along the way. A great read for a special price from the store. The cowboy fought hard to deny his feelings, but in the end found that special someone.

Very good first book. Some things did not ring true having lived through that period. I don't know of a wind storm of this magnitude accompanying an earthquake.Stetson hats are made of felt. A few other mistakes that should have been picked up by a proof reader, but overall a very good book . A constant remihder throughout that God is in control and we only need to believe and He will do the rest. We need only trust Him.

The book started out good then started to drag. I found myself skipping pages and yawning. There was too many misunderstandings. I love mail order bride and western books but this book was a disappointment. It shouldn't have been as long as it was.

I enjoyed this story. Plenty of action and plot twists. Characters likable moved the story along. There was a hint of passion but no hint of erotic scenes.

I found the "Christian" talk overdone and not believable. I believe you can live a good Christian with out advertising God.

The love that blossomed between the two, was unbelievable. I loved the western world. A little bit of romance, jealous cowboys, suspense, round up, and what the western world with gun fights. The ending was just the way it should be. God has the final answer to all our dreams if we wait.

I agree with other reviewers about the emphasis on sexual emotions but was not offended by it. I did think that the story dragged out for far too long. I even laughed out loud at one point when yet again something dramatic happened to the characters. It bordered on the absurd and took away from the reality of the story. That many obstacles do not usually happen in real life in such a short period of time.

I enjoyed following the story of two total opposites who try their best to avoid the inevitable. A wonderful Christian romance that shows that one person's living for Christ can be an example for so many to follow. A beautiful story that makes you root for the handsome cowboy who may act cool but is carrying a lot of baggage around that only God can take away.

This was a well written story with great believable characters. I was a little confused over the lack of conveniences that should have been more in evidence, since the year was 1959. I was just out of high school at that time and went to CO. No-one was ranching only with horses and wagons, but jeeps & pickups.

Good book, somewhat realistic desires that Christians indeed do face, but my personal preference is having way less obstacles for the couple to face. I encountered major reader fatigue with one bad thing after another--bad luck, injuries, and everything. And a particular natural disaster sounded unrealistic. Otherwise, she writes well.

Jessica Harper had always been common, and her mother has let her know it. She’s warned over and over that she’s likely to become an old maid. When Uncle Roy invites Jessica to come to his Montana ranch and help the cook for the summer, she jumps at the opportunity. They all warn her that the handsome, womanizing foreman has caused every other helper to run away with a broken heart. When Jessica meets him, she can understand why.

Clint Wilkins is the best looking man any woman had ever seen, and he knows how to use it. At first, he can’t believe he’s developing feelings for sweet, inexperienced Jessie, so he tries to find solace in other women like always. He soon realizes it doesn’t work, but he knows he’s not nearly good enough for her. He seems to only bring her pain and agony, no matter how hard he tries to protect her.

This is a difficult novel for me to rate. For the first 20%, I loved it. Then it became over-kill. At least 80% of the book is spent inside Jessica’s or Clint’s heads. I usually like that, but this was so over-done that it bogged the story down, and I wanted to see something happen. It was agonizingly slow. Some of the middle should have been cut, because 467 pages of this was just too much. I usually read a book in one or two days. It took me a week to sludge through this one. I loved the title and how it played into the story, and I loved the ending, which was one of the best I’ve ever read. Still, these didn’t make up for the slow, excruciating trek to get there. In the end, I went with a three. If it had been properly trimmed, it could have easily been a five.

Couldn't finish the book. After several chapters, no plot had emerged. It might be in there somewhere. But I sure couldn't find it - just a lot of description of appearance and fluttering romantic feelings. If you like a heavy dose of that, I guess you'll enjoy this book.

Enjoyed the characters, sunset descriptions, inclusions of conversations with God and Bible verses. The cowboy/ranch setting was also enjoyable. Some of the thankfully G rated intimacy scenes were unbelievable because of the close proximaty of the other characters. I also thought that there were too many times that the two main characters were nursing each other from mishaps making the story a little long or repetitive. Including more information about Montana or the time period or the wild animals, etc. in between the romance would be interesting and educational to me. The novel did include some welcomed surprises. I also loved how the heroine wasn't a typical "beauty" but her interests, personality, thoughtfulness, and relationship with God made her beautiful and attractive.

God never wastes an opportunity to share His love, offer His forgiveness or grant mercy! This book has displayed that time and time again! Seeing only the step directly in front of you can often times be scary as demonstrated by both Clint and Jessica, however, with God they were able to find the plan God set out for them both! Loved it!

Well written. Good story-line. Author creates scenes that take you there. God is our life and expressed well in this book. Author doesn't push religion, just quietly shows God's love for us. This is one of those books where you have to fast forward to the end- to make sure the ending doesn't disappoint. This book doesn't disappoint!

Lot of late nights with this book. Absolutely loved it. Shocked that there are any bad reviews. I'm glad the author portrayed realistic passion and desire. Jessica failed in some areas but she took her failings and longings to God. There was no blantant, risque sex in the book. Everything written brought to life the real life struggles and desires humans wrestle with. We were created to be passionate. Passion for God first, then with His help, we restrain our passion till we can give it freely to our spouse. Christian books need to be realistic concerning these areas. I thought the author did a great job of that. Now, excuse me while I go buy my husband some cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. ;-)

Well-written and compelling. Faith is expressed well and sends the message clearly. Disagree with reviews claiming style is too trashy for Christian novels. We Christians experience all passions, and like them as well. We just need to remember Gods design for them! Janith Hooper expressed them well.

I enjoyed this story so much that I literally couldn't stop reading it. Very well written and lots of great characters. There was a lot of action to the storyline, accidents, wild animals, tornado, etc. I hated that the story came to an end it was that good.

Good book very passionate without being inappropriate. I like the way the author made it a love story and still kept God in their lives too.
There was times that the book was slow and repetitious then would pick back up again..
It was a heart touching novel.

A very good Christian western romance book by Janith Hooper. I, at times, found the reading slow and repetitive, but I guess it was necessary to the book. There is a good story line and a lot of interesting characters too!! A good read when you have plenty of time. The ending is very good!!

Jessica is the main character of the book and has come to her uncle's ranch for a change of scenery. She meets several characters, along with Clint, whom she has been warned against. This story has lots of frustrating events, but in the end, love wins out and God is faithful to them all.

Romantic and not trashy encouraging and captivating a good read although with many of the drama twist my was spinning for a while!

Found this to be a fun read and very entertaining. At times Clint's handsomeness was a little over the top but the over all story kept my attention. Books like this, though not necessarily heavy substance, have a good story and make you feel good at the end of the book.

Jessica's relationship with God is beautiful and the fact that her devotion helps bring others to the Lord makes this story even better. Clint turning to Him to where he actually listens to Him is so inspiring for all of u us.

Loved this novel!! I' m sure there are many men (and women) like Clint in the world. Jesus came to save the sinners. We all contain passion (some more, some less)__it's who we are. Thank God for his love for ALL of us, and for his grace. Avid Reader
