I like good clean Christian books. This is one of those good books.. we must walk by faith that's what this book shows us. To truly trust in God. It was funny. Witty and very much about the love of family. Enjoy

I liked all the characters, and the story held my interest. My only criticism is there were some sentence fragments. In some cases, it was for effect, but as a person with an English degree, it bugs me. (sorry). However, I highly recommend this story, and will read more by this author. She's good.

Another depressing book from this author, but at least this time, there is a happy ever after. Only read this book if you have a box of tissues handy and you're not already depressed.

I wonder if this author's life is always a struggle? Where are the stories about the happy, joyful Christian families, who don't have someone dying in them? Yes, life can be hard and most people do have to manage on very little money, but that doesn't mean they can't be happy. Has the art of thrift been lost from this generation?

There are other, more upbeat Christian authors out there and I'll be reading their books instead. Life is tough enough, without reading gloomy, depressing books. I prefer the more uplifting books, that offer hope and happiness with God's promises, instead of placing an over-emphasis on the struggles and sadness that life can bring and for a Christian family, the one in this book sure doesn't spend much time and effort supporting the new widow in their midst. They should have pulled together when her husband was injured and made sure that she and her son were looked after while she was spending months in hospital with him. That was a big gap in this story.

I loved this book. The characters were so real and engaging to me. It was more than being a Texan myself that made them relatable though; I mean, who doesn't know a Carla or an Otis? Seeing how Trish and Andy handled those situations was refreshing. I loved so many things about this book. Reading it was like visiting friends.

A great book for church libraries, young adults and/or teens.
It covers passion with respect. It has several episodes of fear and danger. It encapsulates all these things in a very believable year.

(You shouldn't read this book or review until after you've read TEXAS ROADS)

Trish James, Steve Miller's sister from the last novel, realizes she's grown up with many privileges. When her husband is accidentally killed, she wants to take care of herself and her young son without help from her family or anyone else. The struggle is just so much harder than she expected.

Andy Tyler's childhood had been a struggle. His mother had left them, and his father was an alcoholic. From age seven on, Andy had taken care of his younger brother, Matt. Now, as a successful lawyer, he was doing better, but he was lonely. He'd been interested in his old classmate, Dani, but she chose another. At the wedding rehearsal, he found his subsequent fiancée kissing her old boyfriend, and Andy broke off the wedding. When he meets Trish, he's drawn to her and Little Bo. He had a surrogate father who meant the world to him, and he'd like to be that for Bo, but Trish is too obstinate to accept much help from anyone.

I liked Dani in the first novel, better than Trish here and Andy better than Steve, so the novels balanced out. Trish's stubbornness to make it on her own became frustrating, and hurt her son. There weren't many errors-- "Addicting good" and "aren't I?" used twice. Also, Trish's eyes are cinnamon at times and chocolate at times, all in the same lighting. I'm really enjoying The Miller's Creek series, though. I almost hate to see them end with the next one.

I completely enjoyed this book. I read Texas Roads first by this author, and A Path Less Travelled is the second book in her series. Cathey Bryant is an excellent writer. She tells a wonderfully detailed story about "real" people, their towns, their histories, etc. I did not find this book to have typos, which was just wonderful! This one is not preachy at all, although it is not as subtle as the first book. It simply reminds us to not lean on our own understanding when making decisions but to step back, pray, be quiet and still, and the answer will come to us. I cannot wait to read the third book due out in September!!

This good Christian book went from heart ache to joy that's the way God works. Trisha had trust and other hang ups then God let her see a Bible version trust. Andy entered her life love hit. I really enjoyed the book it was refreshing. It was worth the read.

We Christians appreciate an interesting novel without a word of profanity, a rarity these days. We hope this novel explains to non-Texans what a wonderful place we Native Texans enjoy. Thank you Cathy B.

An enjoyable novel, with plenty of Texas details, and a focus on how we deal with death, grief, and loss. I did at times get irritated with Trish's stubborn resistance to accepting help, and felt that her behavior was never explained satisfactorily. Both main characters need greater development, but the plot is well imagined.

This is a beautiful Faith filled journey about a young widow and her struggle to survive on her own raising a young son who is grieving too. Her determination to do things on her own makes it difficult to accept the help being offered to her

I appreciated the struggle that Trish faced after Doc died. She had to make it work for her and Bo. It was a little soon to consider another man even though he came into her life and would eventually prove to be the right thing for her. She didn't jump at this....always considered the right thing to do.

That was refreshing to me.

Cathy has really outdone herself with this series; I love each one I have read, this is my third one, getting ready to start my fourth book. Letting God direct your path and you following it will make for a much happier life....we all want to put self in the way at one point or another, but I have found that God's way is the best way.

The author takes you on a caring journey, while addressing delicate subjects of unexpected death in the family. A romance surrounded by Christian friends, and having God in one's life. I have not read anything written this well in quite some time. The author keeps you propelled through the book to the very end, with interesting twists and turns, and yet one knows this book, although fiction, could be fact. Was really a treat to read!

So many times we rely upon our own understanding and don't leave it up to God. God's word tells us he has a plan for us. That plan is so much better than anything we could think up. It's so much easier to just let God have control.

Good writing , held interest good. Can not wait for sequel. Good christian values but did not go overboard.Andy and Trish were a hit from the beginning. She took to long to submit to his advances. It was definetly love at first sight. God knew they needed each other.

What was expected was delivered...as always caught up in the story as though you were a part of Miller's Creek and the people we have grown to know and love. But I love that we are always reminded that we are only human, and the lessons learned can always be applied to our own lives. Can't wait to start another!

This is the second book in the Miller Creek series. I have enjoyed both books and can't wait to begin the third book. This story was a great reminder that if you have faith in God things will work out.
