I loved every moment of this book. The author teases the reader by letting us think these 2 wonderful characters are finally going to get together then they back off because one or the other starts thinking he or she is not good for the other. What a great romance story! I kept reading on hoping to see them both admitting their love. The book is very well written.

Lovely story of loss, hope, and love. I enjoyed the characters and felt they were very real. The Texas ranch setting was great and appealed to my sense of adventure. I thought the book was very predictable and that it seemed to end rather suddenly in the midst of all the uncertainty, everything just stopped. I would read the rest of the series because I like the characters so much.
A Mail Order Bride Historical Western Romance Book :: A Vampire King's Desire (Relentless BWWM Vamp Series Book 1) :: Once Burned: A Night Prince Novel :: Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses - A feel good Christmas romance novel :: A Christian Historical Romance Novel (Colorado Reborn Book 3)

A journey of discovery for two people, both hurting. She has no place to call home and the man she thought loved her took her pride and self worth and shredded it. His dad after driving him and his brother away now has given the house he loves to a woman he did not know . One month they have to get through one month in the same house. Fireworks, good food, love and ranch life all make for a good read. Will look for others in this series.

Nice story. After Boone's father died and left his house to Maddie a chef from New York and she had to stay in the house for 30 days and then Boone could buy it from her. Boone was disappointed by his father who he never got along with and wanted nothing to do with Maddie until... It just goes to show you that you don't know what the other person is thinking or wanting if you don't listen or talk to one another. It's sad you find out after your parents have died, that they really did love you. Good fast read.

I enjoyed this book. It offered a nice distraction, a bit predictable, but overall nice pacing of the story. Even if Boone is the most stubborn man, refusing to be anything but noble throughout most of the book.

This story was quite enjoyable. I liked Maddie and Boone . They were well rounded believable characters with good backstories. Jean Brashear's writing was very readable. I wanted to finish the story in one sitting. I will be reading more by this author.

It was sweet and nice. Not terribly exciting. An okay read. No stupid or annoying characters which is a pleasant change from what I've been reading lately. I think I'll read the next in the series based on reviews.

This is a really lovely story. The honestead was portrayed lovely and could imagine being there although Boone and Jessie both needed a kick up the rear but then the story would have been about five pages long. I didn't want to come to the end of this book but was pleased to see there are follow on books about the other characters. Will be keeping an eye out for them.

The story Texas Secrets, The Gallaghers of Morning Star is well-written by author Jean Brashear with multiple storylines that all intertwine together and keep you riveted from start to finish. The only fault with it was it left me hanging on several of the characters not finishing their storylines.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Once I started it, I didn't want to put it down. The characters are extremely likable, and you find yourself wanting to read more and more about them. I do want to say it is on the steamy side, so be forewarned. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Once you read this book, you will want to find the next in the series.

Jean Brasher introduces us to family roots tangled with secrets, lost love, misused love and so much more. We meet with two strangers put together by totally bizarre circumstances. They fight the growing desires, yet they need each other. I think you will enjoy these books, I can't wait to read the continuation of this family in Morning Star. Truly a good read!

This was a really good book. I enjoyed it because it grabbed me from the beginning and held my attention to the end. I also enjoyed it because it was very romantic without bring too graphic. The characters were enjoyable and one could easily relate to them. This is a book I would definitely recommend to anyone who was looking for a good read from beginning to end.

Really enjoyed this story and the characters. Nice twist with the happy ending I absolutely love. I gave four stars because needed a little more detail and the story of how the characters were reconciled with the other parts of the story. I guess more details can be found in the other books of the series. Good job!!

Great cowboy-city girl romance. The beginning kind of reminded me of another book I read, but after the first chapter it was totally unique. I really enjoyed this book and all the characters in it. It was well written, fast paced and kept my attention till the end. I am looking forward to the rest of this series and others by this author. Janice Mote

This was perdictable but so well written I enjoyed it! Yes, there is tragedy, sorrow and all the usual stuff but Ms Brashear writes so well you don't care. It was a fun read and a good romance story and I will be looking to read more of this author. Yes, it fits a pattern but it has wonderful lace and lust. What more can you ask of a romance!

When Maddie inherits a house, she has no idea its history -- and that of the people who have lived there -- will change her life forever. Boone comes home after the death of his father, only to discover the estrangement between them had grown deeper than he'd ever imagined. Not only had Boone's father never tried to reach out to him, the man had willed their ancestral home to a stranger. Now the woman has showed up to claim her property, and because of the deal made by his father, if she leaves, the home could end up going to an enemy from long ago. Boone is damned if she stays, and damned if she doesn't. So how can he let himself keep finding things about Maddie that make him long for all the love he's sure he will never be worthy to have?

I enjoyed the interaction of Boone and Maddie in this story. The heroine was equally as strong as her hero, and I found that appealing. I read it in big gulps, like a great cup of coffee in the morning. The writing was strong, with believable reasons why the characters acted as they did. The interrelationships were complex. I had the sense that this was an old family and that its ties to the community were deep. Maddie's deceased father plays into Boone's family history in ways that made me wonder if she and Boone were going to end up being related. Who was related to whom took a little backtracking for me to figure out, but the story revealed all the details eventually, in a satisfying way.

Boone was a great hero in every sense, and Maddie the woman who keeps him rooted in the land he loves. She had a strong sense of honor and duty, and was true to herself and her beliefs. I liked her from the beginning. The secondary characters were well developed and fun to read. I especially liked Jim, the ranch hand who worked for Boone, but wasn't afraid to put him in his place.

I'll be looking for the other books in this series, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one to any reader wanting a solid contemporary romance.

Loved it!! Stubborn hero, happy but cautious heroine equals Beautiful love story. This is a quick read with enough secrets to make this a page turner. The characters emotions are easily felt and the end was the perfect set up for book 2 without being a cliffhanger. Well done JB. Thumbs up recommendation.

I really enjoyed this book. Cowboys are my favorite (After all, I am married to one). The hero is brooding, sexy and yearns to love, but won't. The heroine is sexy, sweet and trying to be strong. Well written. Just ordered the other two. Highly recommend.

This was an okay story, nothing special. The heroine is alright, but I haaated the "hero." He is constantly whining in his head and is consumed with guilt and insecurity. If this is "brooding," I don't see anything heroic about it. The writing is good, but I didn't find the story compelling.

I loved Maddie's passion for feeding people and Boone's gentle horsemanship, but the story, and romantic anticipation was world-class and definitely worth the wait. Their banter and interactions come across as believable and their reasons for fighting against submitting to their passion are certainly very understandable, but ultimately overcome by an attraction at once incendiary and undeniable. A great read I devoured in 2 days of my busy life, but over to soon. This is one of those books that you read the epilogue through tears, not over the story, but because it is over. So glad there are more volumes with Maddie and Boone to soothe the loss.

Boone and maddie both have a past that they would rather forget but being around each other brings the past to the present. They try avoiding their attraction to each other to stay away from their past heartaches and family problems. Will they finally give in to their feelings? Read to find out but be warned its very hard to put down! :)

I really enjoyed reading this! I found the author's writing style booth smooth and compelling to read! And while yes, there was sex, it wasn't laced all the way through the book, unlike many of similar books on here. I would highly recommend this book for the romance and believable story seekers!

I enjoyed the story of Maddie and Boone's romance because Maddie was a very sweet person. I did think Boone was a little too morose, but that just made it all the better when he finally saw the light at the end. Very enjoyable western romance.
