My goodness. Did ANYTHING even remotely nice, pleasant or happy occur in Sin's childhood? Anything at all? A kind word or gesture from anyone? Perhaps he once saw a pretty rainbow and experienced a fleeting moment of joy? Apparently not. According to the author, Sin's life was worse than sheer hell from the moment he was born until the moment he met Callie. Although I always think the theme of the wounded hero afraid to love is a good one, this author took that theme to the extreme. At one point we're told that he had never been hugged by a woman, for heaven's sake! On almost every other page there's yet another example of Sin's mother, father, step-mother, slavemasters mistreating him in ways that stretch credulity, to say the least. I expected to hear that he had to sleep on hot coals every night, with his eyelids taped open. Give me a break! Midway through the book, I didn't feel sympathy for Sin. Instead, I had to keep from laughing at the ridiculously unbelievable cruelty he had suffered. Not only that, but Callie's character lacked any depth or definition. The other characters were painted with equally broad strokes. My advice: when reading this author's books, don't buy them--check them out at your local library for free.

I've read so many of Sherrilyn Kenyons Dark Hunter series that I wanted to gI've her other series a try. If you love this series you will love Karen Marie Moning's Highlander Series and also the Avalon series by Kinley MacGregor!

I liked this group of books WITH THE EXCEPTION of the "she hissed" and "he hissed" and "they hissed" Are these people in the throes of love makeing, or at a snake and/or cat fight. EVERY ONE of these books that I have read so far (4) has the heroine and hero "hissing". Buy this author a thesaurus!

This book was wonderful - I downloaded it looking ofr something to simply pass a little time and I was completely drawn in. The author does a terrific job of completely involving the reader in the development of Sin and Callie's relationship. Beautifully, beautifully done. There were some sad heartbreaking parts, but there were also parts that just begged a smile. Like I said - wonderful. Highly recommended.

The sacrificial love in this book takes my breath away! I enjoy Callie and Sin's story every time I read it. I'm reading it to my husband each night. Camraderie, bravery, love and passion make it a fun bedtime story for us both. It is one of my ten favorite novels!

Kinley MacGregor has yet to disappoint me with one of her fabulous books. "Born in Sin," was definatly a heart-throbbing story, and I also think it was one of her most adventurous stories of all the MacAllister Novel's.

I have been reading romance novels for over 15 years and this most definitely ranks among the best that I have read to date. This was the first book I read of Mrs. MacGregor's and since reading it I am seeking to read every other that she writes. A true work of art!!!
