Lies Women Believe And the Truth That Sets Them Free

This book is full of right-on, albeit counter-cultural, truth. I'm not sure I agree with her view on family planning and was disappointed with her section on depression, but I'm still giving the book 5 stars because the other issues she addresses were handled so well. I am going to start giving this book as an engagement gift to women getting married and am encouraging my married friends to read it as well.

It is liberation for your spirit, your mind and your emotions. What most if not all women need to work through our misconceptions of ourselves and others. It really makes you think but it challenges you with the Word of God to change your thinking. If I were a tracher I'd teach these principles to the young teens/ women in church school. It would be an automatic study in the curriculum. Great read. You have to be willing and ready for change because that is the point.

I have not finished the workbook yet but am about halfway through. So far I have realized that there are so many lies "out there" that I am believing or have believed at some point in my life. I am doing this with a friend, and it is amazing how she can see the same lie in at a different angle. So I am not only learning from the book, but also from her. I recommend this as a good starting place to review how society, social media, etc. affects how one looks at oneself.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss is an excellent writer. She is right on target with her topics, and what is plaguing us in the world today. It's not the "same old song" story that we often hear in Christian books about "repent" and dwell on my sins which makes me feel awful. She gives sound advice and uses scripture to back up her thoughts and opinions. I would definitely recommend this book to women and to Christian counselors in practice.

This is truly a spiritual book for women prepared to be exposed to the truth. WARNING: the truth hurts, but once you accept it, you will find yourself on the road to a more fruitful purpose driven life. Are you tired of living a lie? Do you know deep in your that you were meant for something more powerful? Are you depressed and always angry? The Read the book, I DARE YOU!!!!!!! what have you got to lose? you can always go back to the same old miserable self. I pray to see you on the other side. The book was delivered quickly and was in relatively good condition. There was some cover damage, but overall the book lived up to its online descriptions. I would be happy to purchase from this seller again.

Even the older, more well-established women in our group (ages 35 to 80) are enjoying and learning from this book. It has sparked debate, opened minds and generally helped us learn from one another, as well as from the book. Kudos to DeMoss. She's done it again!

The author took very important life principles from the word of God & dealt the truth to the reader... & the importance of being obedient. What's most awesome is how the book links humanity's fallen nature, all the way back to the garden of Eden.

All women should read this book to gain personal growth and freedom in their lives. DeMoss carefully considers many aspects of life and how we can change what we believe once we understand why we believe the way we do.

This is an excellent book for young women to inform them how the world's way of thinking is a false way to view many aspects of their lives. It can promote re-thinking current behaviors and attitudes.

Really like this book; am using it to facilitate a teen Bible story this summer. Bought the companion workbook and am doing an 8 week study. Really think it's great for moms and girls to go through together!

Life can be very confusing and things we have heard over the years can bring more confusion. The author lists lies that we are told or we tell ourselves and we get to see where they came from and how we need to rethink the direction we are taking and why. this is a good book for women to study together or just for ourselves when we do inner search. there is a workbook that goes w/it and it is a help also. our ladies group from church is using this book and the ideas we are sharing are very interesting and everyone has commented that we are learning new things about being a woman--no matter our age. i recommend this if a woman wants to find out more about her thought processes and life direction.

THIS BOOK IS REALLY ENLIGHTING IT HELPS ME TOO SEE LIFE IN A DIFFERENT PROSPECTIVE I LEARNED SO MUCH READING AND GATHERING WITH OTHER WOMEN! WE FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF US DEAL WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS! I WAS REALLY BLESSED FOR GETTING THE CHANCE TO GET THESE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!

This is an awesome book for women! I personally have benefited from it greatly. I am doing this book and workbook in my bible study at church. It really helps to put in perspective what God thinks of us and not what we think about ourselves. As I am a leader of a small group in my home, we will be doing this study after we finish with the current one we are doing. I am noticing more and more, if someone is paid a compliment, me included, we all tend to not believe it. But this book will help us to believe how God and others see us. I highly recommend buying the book and study guide to be set free from "The Lies Women Believe".

The world has their standard for women. So does the Bible. One standard is fad, one is unchanging. DeMoss explains some of the drama women are led by when the world grabs them by their emotions and shouts at them to be something opposed to their design.

This book will confront women regarding many beliefs they have including: God, priorities, marriage, children and emotion. There is great wisdom and confrontation in the Spirit. The book is powerful in showing us our wrongs and correcting us through out scripture.

This book has absolutely changed my walk with God and given me such great, helpful, practical wisdom from an older sister in the Lord. Almost like she's right there w/ her arm around me telling me straight up how to recognize the Truth for what it is in the midst of falsehood all around me. Thank you so much, nancy!

Basically, everyone of us need to know why we are here on Earth. "It is not about us". A book that every man, woman and teenager should read at least once.
You will either love this book or hate it.
