The main reason for purchasing this novel was because of the time frame. It starts in the year 1907. There are not very many Action/Adventure stories that are in this time frame. The beginning of the story set the theme for the whole story. I have all three of the "Isaac Bell" novels now. I would hope that Clive Cussler is found by some one in hollywood to make these three books into a series of movies. I would love to see these books made into a series of movies. Who would I pick to play the Isaac Bell charactor.....I don't know. This novel was really. really good.

Clive Cussler has done it again! He has written a book that you can not put down. Though it is a period piece, early 1900's, it does give you the flavor of what was making America the great nation that she is. Many twists and turns to the plot keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next turn of the page. Bravo!

Second book in the series. Just as exciting and intriguing as "The Chase" was. Have read the other two books in the series too. All of them are good, but this one and the first one are the best. No decision on the fifth book just got it. But rereading "the Wrecker" because it is just that good.
The Race :: The Silent Sea (The Oregon Files) :: The Spy (An Isaac Bell Adventure) :: The Kingdom (A Sam and Remi Fargo Adventure) :: Lost Empire (A Sam and Remi Fargo Adventure)

I have recently become a fan of Clive Cussler and his adventure novels. He writes with detail for mechanical things that keep a man's interest and weaves in an entertaining plot with many surprises. A great author to read!

Much too pat.
Every obstacle, that would be more than daunting for any man, is easily overcome by the superhero.
There is no challenge he can't win.
After awhile it's simply too predictable & boring.

IF you're a 'Train' buff you might like it
