I've been waiting for this continuation and it did not disappoint! This book carries on and delivers as I thought it would. Non-stop action, comical insight with twists and turns nearly on every page. The only down side is I now have to wait for the next one to be released. Anxiously awaiting...

The several attacks on Rachel by wolves have in no way been properly explained. Why are they attacking Rachel? Is that what you would have us believe is normal behavior, because it is most definitely not! Are they zombie wolves affected by the virus? Wolves don't attack people like the ones in this story. The constant stream of people in story saying, "wolves, I thought they were wiped out ages ago, huh who knew?" I knew, everyone I know knows, and anyone who watches ANY nature channel on cable TV would know. So why are these people so stupid about wolves? Stories like this poorly written one showing wolves as vicious beasts only increase the stereotype that this writer suffers from. If wolves are so damn vicious, they would be killing people left and right. The wolves are out there, the people are out there, but the wolves are not killing them except in poorly written stories like this one. The author's forward explaining how he knew nothing wolves, does not excuse the unrealistic treatment of them as vicious killing machines in the story.

This series is so "real"... it feels real and reels you in ?(I know.. that's a bit cheesy but I couldn't resist). It's very well written and I've now read all 14+2 and I decided to come back and write a review to copy and share on all the books...

Amazingly, consistently, throughout the entire series, in every book and on (ok people, he's human so on ALMOST) every page, he's achieved a caliber of balance I honestly can't remember seeing before. He doesn't include so much unnecessary "garble" that you're "skipping and scanning" trying to find the story. He utilizes just enough "descriptive writing" to provide the information your mind needs to "see" what's happening in the scene which allows you to feel as if you're truly experiencing it. . I became so immersed that at times I felt "odd" when I'd go to cook dinner and the water and power flowed freely...

I think the way he's written this, with most of being written in first person, truly "hooks" your mind and pulls you on so that it's almost as if you ARE John.

One component I'd like to share with other readers is how unlike his writing is from several (almost all) other post-apocalyptic books which include military story lines that I've read. Having grown up on military bases literally around the world, and as the member of a family with generations of Army "grunts", I look for these types of stories.

Unlike many of his counterparts, who have to some degree or another jumbled the differences in the branches or inaccurately portrayed elements such as "the heart" of a serviceman, sometimes minutely and others horribly - and in my opinion disrespectfully and dishonorably. Though in one books instance I was so appalled I stopped reading it and never read the author again. Mr. Patton has gone to great lengths diligently endeavoring to accurately portray all aspects from the correct terminology used by and for each branch to the dialogue being "true military speak" to the capabilities and limits of weaponry and arms and so on. While he openly admits to taking literary license as well as the occasional error, he has actually written forewords providing true historical facts regarding previous military actions which he referenced or weaves into his plot.

Mr. Patton has done our men and women proud. He has truly captured the "character of the characters". Due to medical disqualifications I didn't have the honor of serving our country but At 6'7" and with 280 lbs of ferocity, grit and heart my daddy served for 20 years.  In multiple countries, including being a trainer for Desert Storm, a Recruiter, an MP  and many other positions I don't know, he completed his career as an E-6, First Class Special Staff Sergeant (I'm fairly certain that's how it's said but I might be mistaken).

In one book there's a discussion regarding the public saying "thank you" because it's "expected"... almost as if it seems empty to the soldier... I'd like all of you who have served and are reading this to know... You may have just been doing your job, but you CHOSE to do that for me... so from this little girl inside of me who ran across the tarmac trying to keep  her daddy home, then waited in the window "forever" watching the sky, then waited under the awning for him to finally step off the bus, and then stood in the sun for the hours it took until he was released so I could run across the tarmac when my daddy came home.... and who cried with her friends for what our mommies or daddies "left on the field" whether it was their lives or their limbs or their hearts... from the bottom of my heart, with words that are way too small to ever be big enough to hold the weight I mean  them with, which are far from "empty"  and couldn't be more full, I truly THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice.
I Hope You Find Me: Find Me Series 1 :: Transmission: V Plague Book 5 :: Fractured: V Plague Book 15 :: A Plague of Secrets (Dismas Hardy) :: Exodus: V Plague Book 13

Another non-stop story from Dirk Patton! The book picks right up with the ending of the eight book. Major John Chase is once again trying to survive and protect the others closest to him, but the Russians want him even more than the infected.

In another time, in another life, John was involved in taking out a KGB team and their leader. That leader happened to be a mentor to the current Russian president and he will stop at nothing to catch John Chase.

Has John finally met his match? Is his expertise and skill set going to cause the deaths of those he's been protecting? Read the V-Plague series (starting with the first book) and find out!! But get ready....there's nowhere to pull over in this story!

I have just finished reading Precipice. My heart is pounding and I feel like I just got off a wild roller coaster ride. First the book was fantastic. So much action throughout the entire book. I have really grown to love the characters so to say I was shocked at the end of the book is an understatement. Not to give anything away but I couldn't believe which characters died and how they died. By the end of the final sentence I was extremely sad, angry, frustrated and amazed by Dirk Patton and his amazing story telling gift. This series of books make for an exciting adrenaline infused reading experience. I'm just depressed that I will have to wait for the release of the next book!

Why?? Why did I let myself devour this book, enjoying it thoroughly but finishing it way too fast? Why do I now have to go about daily life without John and Rachel and Dog? Why can't there be an infinite number of books in this series? Why am I so enameled with this series?? Because it's well written, fast paced, exciting and has characters that are worth investing in. I'm slightly devastated that I've reached the end. I hope Dirk Patton is writing a tenth book right now. Great ninth book, and the ending--wow. Can't wait to read book number ten someday.

After reading the first book in this series, I decided to read another, after realizing that authors will take artistic license with facts, to smudge them a bit to assist in the story! I fully intend to read this entire series! Outstanding story, and I actually said "Damn" out loud at the last shock in this book!

I wait impatiently for each book in this series to arrive...I have fallen in love with each and every character, and when we lose on (well, there are zombies, afterall) I mourn them. Mr. Patton just gets better and better with each book and this one was the best yet. Lots of action! This series definitely deserves to be seen in a television series or even a movie (from my lips to God's ear!) Please hurry with book 10...I'm worrying about what happens to Katie!!!!

Well crafted character development that creates real interest, violent well choreographed action, a credible world and a hero that while flawed is unique and human at the same time. Many authors in this genre get bogged grown with political or religious messages and intricate details of prepping. Not Mr. Patton as he lets nothing stand in the way of his really good storytelling
Awaiting the next book.

What a great series. Having just finished #9, I am ashamed to say that I haven't written any review yet on this great adventure written by Dirk Patton. My only defense is the fact that these are the types of books that once started, cannot be put down. I would caution against reading them before bedtime, because the adrenaline rush makes it difficult to get to sleep. My congratulations, sir, on producing such a fine work of art. In my opinion, that is what great writing really is!

Suddenly I was on the last page......OH NO!! For some reason I assumed there was a book 10. I'm unprepared. What will I read now? Nothing else can compare. How long will I have to wait? I think I'm going through V withdrawal!!

I loved every single book. Each one is so different, action packed; never a dull moment. I never skip a word for fear of missing something good

This is one of the greatest apocalypse series I have ever read. He keeps you pulled in all the up to the end!! I have read them all and this one by far is the best. His main character John Chase reminds me of the Jack Reacher character. You have to read this series. You will NOT be disappointed.

Wow, this series gets better & better with each installment. I feel like I'm stealing by reading it thru Kindle Unlimited, it's THAT good.

The story was solid, flowed beautifully & kept me racing thru the pages. So many emotions were evoked. If you love zombie fiction & haven't begun this series yet do yourself a favor, start from Book 1 NOW. You won't regret it.

It's astonishing that the story continues to get better as we go along. Not that the series wasn't fantastic from the start. So many books in...and I never want to stop reading! Friends that have been lost will be very much missed, however. Another phenomenal job, Mr. Patton.

This series started really good and I enjoyed every chapter up until the Russians show up... after that it goes down and becomes a chip "praise our mighty army" type of novel. But book 9 is where I can't continue reading because it becomes plain stupid. I can't swallow Chase singlehandedly killing a full helicopter of russian spetsnaz troops... so I give up... and by the way Katie is relly annoying.

This series of books are non-stop action. I couldn't put any one of them down. I was eating lunch alone just so I could read them. Amazing cast of characters. A good study of human traits under duress.
