I could not even get through the first page. The English language has a multitude of words and this writer chose to use profanity. The story may have been good ... But I would not waste my time to get through the profanity.

Okay, this 'novella' is not for everyone. Thankfully, I am in the select group of people who enjoys laughing out loud. "Pirate Dave and His Randy Adventures" was originally written, in part, for Ms. Peterman's romance novel, "How Hard Can it Be?". In "How Hard Can It Be?", the heroine and her porno-writing granny friends create this sweet hot mess "Pirate Dave..." to bring down the evil, book-stealing Evangeline O'Hara. They attach her name to "Pirate Dave...", the worst romance novel ever written, in hopes of watching her go down in flames. "Pirate Dave..." is so silly and outlandish and rude and crude and unacceptable...because it is meant to be. It is meant to be the mother of all spoofs and Ms. Peterman succeeds in that regard. Don't take it seriously. Just take it, sit down for a spell and laugh....when you are not cringing from the delightfully, crass, bold, silly shock of it all. Hooray for laughing out loud and being a bit childish again!!!!!! I get it.....

Hilarious! I've rarely laughed that much while reading a book! Robyn Peterman takes the idea of a romance novel spoof to new heights. Pirate Dave is a time traveling, vampire warlock who is looking for the horniest woman ever born, instead he finds conjoined twins. Overall, there is very little actual romance, so if you're looking for an erotic novella, then this is not the book for you. In other words, sex is mentioned but not described. Other than that I found it funny that Pirate Dave is playing on-line scrabble with Poseidon. (really Zeus, because of the lightning bolts, but hey it is funnier if Dave thinks it's the sea god.) Anyway, this is a real funny story not to be taken seriously. :)

Pirate Dave and his crew were so ridiculously dumb, I found myself giggling as I read. A time traveling, Warlock vampire, does it get any better? Did I mention that one of his crew time travels and pretends to be Bigfoot. That coupled with the conjoined twins named Laverne and Shirley, ridiculous.
If you're looking for a fun, stupid, laugh enducing read then this is the book for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this!

For everyone giving this book anything under 3 stars and calling it vulgar and trash, you're an idiot. Yes, I said an idiot. Try reading actual reviews before buying a book, might help you people out a little.

This was NOT A REAL BOOK. The author never intended to write this book and she never intended for anyone to take it seriously, let alone give her flack for anything said in the book. She even gave a warning about how bad the book was and the vulgarity it contained within. As everyone has has said, it was a book within a book, started as a joke to ruin another author's career because she was stealing other author's ideas/books and claiming them as her own. Mind you, this was all happening IN ANOTHER BOOK. In the actual book she did seriously write, the book characters, which I believe amounted to 4 or 5 different people, all had a hand in writing the book so of course it was disjointed and made little to no sense. It was the intended purpose behind the book all along. It was MEANT to be so horrible that no one would want to read it or ever take the author claiming it as her own seriously ever again. The characters tried to inject as much profanity, sex, disbelief, utter nonsense, and anything else they could come up with that would make the book unreadable. This was what their group came up with. The author merely wrote this because her fans BEGGED her to actually write the book that the characters had talked a little about in the book she wrote.

Please, do everyone a favor and act like adults. Read the author's own words about the book. Read reviews which actually tell you the book title this came from and how this evolved before you run off and start giving 1 stars for something you know nothing about. Still don't like it after actually reading the book this came from and understanding how this came about? Ok, that is understandable. But to sit there and reject the author from this one book alone is ridiculous.
