“Trailer Trash, With a Girl's Name” by Stacey Roberts is a blast. I laughed, almost cried, and emotionally cringed at some of the situations that reminded me of events from my own life and upbringing. Calling Stacey a ‘Trooper’ is not word enough to commend him on surviving all that was thrown in his path, with kudos to the little bit that he managed to throw back. (Smile) For him to come out of it with an amazing sense of humor, well, that is just amazing because not everyone can do that. This proves that despite - I’ll say certain familiar difficulties - you can make peace with your past and move on to a better future. Thank you, Stacey, for helping me see the brighter side. You are a true inspiration and I am happy to follow your lead.

There's something distinctly American about Stacey Robert's story; the open road and self-discovery along the way; a single mother with two kids, and several husbands, all unique in their ability to bring laughter at the expense of the author. I laughed out loud and cringed at moments. It could have been his mother's cooking (flush with red onions); or even an electrified trailer (how is it possible?); but I connected strongly with the themes from this book as a middle-child who struggled finding my identity. From the cover to the afterword Trailer Trash with a Girl's Name hits every mark, and leaves you wanting more. Highly recommended.

QUIRKY, QUIRKY! THIS BOOK WAS A QUIRKY "WONDER YEARS", FUNNY AND KINDA SAD AT TIMES. IT AMAZES ME HOW SO MANY PEOPLE SURVIVE CHILDHOOD, CONSIDERING THE PARENTS THAT RAISE THEM. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE ENCOUNTERS OF THE JIMMIES IN THEIR WORLD. BEING A PARENT AND A MOTHER MYSELF, THE MOTHER IN THIS BOOK LET ME KNOW THAT SOME OF US SHOULD NEVER REPRODUCE. I FELT SO SORRY FOR SSSSSSTACE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I WAS SO TICKLED I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING. HISSSS ENTIRE LIFE WAS FILLED WITH MISFORTUNE, ONE AFTER THE OTHER, HIS FIRST BEING BORN TO THIS HORRIBLE WOMAN. O.M.G.!! ;>

This was a painful book, because I laughed until my stomach hurt while reading it. Author Stacey Roberts' sense of humor at his life's experiences was funny, uplifting, a bit crazy and just a ton of fun. The tales told are from the point of view of his childhood and then progress as he grows into a young adult. For me, it was non-stop entertainment. It's rare to read a book that KEEPS me laughing throughout, though many authors try. I can't wait for another book from Roberts. I will read anything he publishes, but sorry, I will never eat at his mother's house. Sorry Ma'am. You will love this one. I highly recommend.

This book is well written and there are some laugh out loud moments in it. It seems this is a compilation of blogs that have been reordered to some extent in a logical sequence so there are some holes in it, but still this is a humorous and enjoyable read throughout.

Trailer Trash, with A Girl’s Name is an original memoir that makes you laugh out loud, and at the same time feel for this smart boy who endures a difficult life without losing his sense of humor. Mr. Roberts’s witty comicalness and neat prose make this book impossible to put down. I read it in one session and went back and forth between chapters to highlight some of the most hilarious sentences I’ve read in quite some time. Looking forward to the second installation in this series.

Trailer Trash With A Girls Name by Stacey Roberts was received direct from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This book, which is a collection of vignettes apparently from a blog, are definitely not a thinking mans book, the stories flow smoothly and reminded me a lot of childhood, though Stacey's seemed kind of harsh, not being "The Favorite." This was an interesting and quick read.

I am a fan of dysfunctional childhoods. Anyone who has grown up in that scenario knows that we are more interesting for it...just ask our shrinks. Every once in a while, one of us chooses to take the high road and post blogs or write a book about it. If it makes me laugh or feel better about what I went through, then you've earned my loyalty and probably some unhealthy stalking. Mr. Roberts, congratulations! Your ability to keep me laughing when I should be crying for you has created a little competition for my attention between yourself and Augusten Burroughs. Luckily, the gap between books has ensured a place for both of you on my bookshelf. Well done. I look forward to more of your adventures.

I originally wanted to title this review, “If you don’t purchase this book, I’ll shoot this dog,” but this is a review of a wonderful gem of a read, not one of my books where I have to guilt people. Hands down, Stacey Roberts is a comedic genius. Few writers today have that golden touch of comedy and Stacey got it! “Trailer Trash, With a Girl’s Name” has that universal appeal where anyone anywhere can read any passage and burst out in laughter repeatedly. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but honestly, if you don’t buy this book, I’m gonna have to shoot this dog.

Usually I never write reviews for books, I just like to read then move on to the next one. This book though actually caused me to laugh out loud- many more times than once! If you like to laugh, especially at someone else's expense- read this book. You will enjoy it!

This book kept me laughing through every chapter. Guess most of us can relate to the 'favorite other sibling syndrome' but Stacey has a knack for expressing it in a light-hearted way. Looking forward to the next hilarious adventure!

I wish I had such vivid recollections of my childhood. After reading what his mother wrote, I find myself trying hard to figure out what is real and what is, shall we say, embellished. But that's half the fun after all. A good read with lots of humor. Nice job Stacey!

Absolutely hilarious! Not only could I relate to some of the embarassment family members can bring, but I actually laughed out loud at times! Although there were some sad parts, I was quite entertained by the book and thankful the author took the time to share his stories! I'm sooooooo looking forward to the next book!

Mr Roberts will have you chuckling and cringing the entire time you read this book. It beats any sitcom I have seen and it really could be made into a brilliant one. Someone in New York or LA should approach him quick because this writer is going places. Highly recommend.

Mr. Roberts tells the stories we can relate to from our own childhoods. From the serial killer upstairs to the electrified mobile home, I was laughing the entire way through! I look forward to the next installment.

It is a quick, entertaining story, but it is just okay. I didn't find the humour in the story that others did, rather I felt bad for him. While it was an enjoyable quick read, I thought it was only worthy of 3 stars.
