We love these Bible Story books. We read them to all our children (now 11, 10, 8) when they were babies through toddlers. Now we purchase them often as gifts. WONDERFUL and biblically accurate. You will not regret.

Ms. Lindvall does an excellent job of relaying classic Bible stories in a manner that is poignant, yet developmentally appropriate for young minds. It is evident that she has taken the utmost care and reverence in adapting the text. The beautiful illustrations by H. Kent Puckett accompany the stories in a captivating, powerful way. There are few enough words per page, and the illustrations are so well done, that the combination makes this series an excellent resource for sharing the Bible with children, while at the same time maintaining their attention long enough to deliver the Message. Each book includes 5 Bible Stories from both the Old and New Testaments. Stories include those such as that of Creation, Joseph and His Coat, Jesus Stills the Storm, and Noah and the Ark.

These stories are really meant to be read aloud – they are full of onomatopoeia and questions. At the end of each story, there is a “What did you learn?” section that encourages discussion. The illustrations are simple and the story is detailed enough to give the reader the whole picture without getting too confusing.

Great curation of biblical stories. The pacing is good and the word choice is perfect for my 7yr-old who is fine at learning to read, but would rather not do it. Keeps him moving through the story, but is not too easy and challenges him enough. It's good that there's multiple volumes because he starts to memorize them. Overall, very happy for how they work for us. Also, the "what did you learn" page at the end of every story is consistent in it's reading level, but also drives home great concepts from the story itself.

This is the second Ella Lindvall Bible Story that I have purchased, and once again, I am very pleased with the simple illustrations, as well as her ability to get to the heart of a matter for a young child. For example, the story with Joseph explains in childlike fashion, the reality of oftentimes not 'being happy' but still having 'God there' with you. It's a beautiful way for my preschooler to see that being 'happy' is not the end goal, but rather, God being WITH her, IS.

This set of books is wonderful. My children adore them. Ella Lindvall does an amazing job of taking Bible stories and applying it in such a way that children grasp its meaning, and in a way that they can apply it in their life. That is such a hard task with young children. It is also written in a way that makes Jesus seem personal to them - as he should. I can't say enough great things about these books - you won't be disappointed!
