I thoroughly enjoyed the Coffin Dancer as well as all of the Lincoln Rhyme books which I have just re-read recently. I have a different understanding of crime scene practices and now when I watch crime shows and see them make mistakes, I feel simply smug about what they are NOT doing correctly.

Jeffery Deaver once again presents a page-turning, cant-put-down story involving Lincoln Rhyme and crew. You will be unable to leave this book until you get to the last page, and as with his other books, it will leave you wanting more.

I have read almost all of the Lincoln Rhyme novels and thought that some of the endings where not up to the rest of the book. These are great fun reads and I love the antisipation of getting started on a new one. This time I was caught off guard. The book grabbed me right away and was hooked. Great twists and even the ones I saw coming ending up catching me off guard again later. Hands down the best of the Rhyme novels so far. Keep it up Mr. Deaver!

I read a lot of thrillers and mysteries, and usually can figure out who-dun-it and why. This novel fooled me completely, and nearly foiled Lincoln Rhyme as well. The ending was surprising. A real page-turner--was up till 3AM finishing it.

Mr. Deaver at his best. An addictive holiday read. Superb twists in the plot get to a point where I thought the whole story was going to explode into farce. But Jeffery Deaver masterfully holds it together in the imaginarium. A most satisfying investment of reading time!

Technical mistakes render a lot of the plot unbelievable. You could not, for example, fit 12 ounces of RDX in a cell phone in 1998, or ever. That amount of explosive would be at least twice the volume and twice the weight of the phone. When Amelia picked up her Glock in the big finale she immediately would have known from the weight and the balance that it didn't have a magazine - she's an expert. A Glock 17 weighs 22 oz. without a magazine; a full magazine weighs 11 oz. it's not a small difference. And you have to be at least 5 ft 2 in to be a US Navy fighter pilot.

This is a great book, better than The Bone Collector. Gripping and well written. In my opinion, the only dive Deaver took had to do with the sexual ingredient... that one was not asked for and it just does not fit right. Other than that, higly recommendable.

Deaver is the master of misdirection and the art of then taking the reader by the hand, through artful prose, to the, "how did I not see that coming" moment. Well written. Well outlined. Well thought thru. Most importantly....very enjoyable.
