This curriculum is great for hands-on history learning. My kids love the activities and they remember what they read because they get to have a feel with how history was by using the maps and doing the activities!

The Story of the World is an excellent audiobook for kids who want to imagine what life would be like in the Middle Ages. My boys have listened to the entire CD collection 3 times already. The narration is superb and the content is right on. It is a great addition to the written book and/or a great supplement to a different history program of the Middle ages. I would highly recommend this series to anyone wanting to study the Middle ages.

These books are great for homeschooling parents or those who just want to read history to their elementary age children. I can read these books to different age children, and the story holds their attention while they learn. The workbook that goes with the book gives them hands on things to do, although they grow out of it more quickly than the story, I have found. I highly recommend all of these books!

Was an excellent review. It is designed for parents to read with their children. It provides a good overview of major events in history as well as other information that makes history fun for children, such as recounting folk tales. However, it is a watered-down version of history...it does not go into details about anything in particular so if you are looking for something in depth about something specific, then you need an additional source.

My husband and I couldn't stop reading this series - it is so full of information that over the years we may have heard of before - or never heard of before. Don't sell this series short! This is fascinating for everyone!! Thank you, Susan Wise Bauer and the store!

I'm giving this book the highest rating because it was requested by my grandchild after reading Vol. 1. I won't be at all surprised if we continue through the entire series. These books stimulate the child's imagination and curiosity while presenting history in terms that a young reader can comprehend and retain. I'm so glad that I learned of these books!!

We really have enjoyed this whole series in our homeschool for our base curriculum to lead us through. However, we would like to have this title available for Kindle! We've already purchased the hardcover book, but we find the Kindle experience superior. Please don't delay in publishing this for the Kindle!!

I like these history books a lot even though they are quite small. The printout sheets help students remember what they are learning and our kids like to color while they learn. I am giving this book 4 stars because it is lacking a completely Christian worldview. We haven't found anything that contradicts God's word but it is VOID of God's word. For that reason we like Mystery of History a lot better!

We are enjoying every moment of learning about the middle Ages because of Story of the World Volume 2. My children remember what happens in such great detail, that they were able to reconstruct the entire Normal Conquest of England for their Eye doctor. They told the entire story, in perfect chronological order, in their own words. They were so excited about history. They love this book, and they enjoy the map work and coloring pages as well. The activity book is very useful.

My son and I love listening instead of reading. If i ask him if he wants to read it he chooses to listen to the CD. The narrators voice is very pleasant. So both of us are happy with the purchase of the disks.

This author is superb she gives a clear and simple explanation of history that is appropriate for any age. The two things I like the most are she does not go into bloody detail which makes it ideal for younger kids and she approaches it as a story not just dry boring facts.
